Don't get me wrong, these are nice to look at! But they are so narrow that just trying them around the house caused my foot to cramp so bad, I couldn't even take them on a run. Toe area has ample space, but the midfoot is super narrow. I also noticed this with a few other newer models of Altra shoes with the original fit having the same issue. Also, why do they not have any wide options, and when they do, they only have them in the most boring colors? Those of us with wider feet love fun colors too!

I'm an avid walker and hiker. I literally wear holes in these shoes. I buy a paor every summer and an "all wthr" pair every winter. After putting in maybe 1-2 miles, I could easily tell something was different. They are much more narrow and not nearly as foot shaped as they used to be. I'm convinced they changed without telling us. I've since put in several more miles in these and I'm just not the fan that I used to be. Why fix something that isn't broken Altra?

Seriously disappointed with Altra shoes this year - the construction and design are horrible I've tried every hiking boot and shoe this year and have returned them all and I am a diehard Altra fan, which is why I was so determined to just find one option. And don't even get me started on the hideous colors and designs for women we do not want Barney colors or any other outrageous combo we want a everyday color that goes with everything like the men's options - black and orange or black and blue, most of us are outdoorsy and we want shoes that won't show everything and don't scream girly.

I'm someone with a very narrow foot, and I always use a lace-lock style of lacing to keep my feet from slipping around in my shoes. The previous model of the Lone Peak All-Wthr was missing the second hole at the top that I needed in order to lace my shoes properly. I couldn't feel stable when running or walking in them, and this led me to stop wearing them.
I was THRILLED when I saw that Altra released a newer version of the Lone Peak All-Wthr with two holes at the top! I've had a few chances to take these for a run after and during snow storms, and I can confirm that my feet don't slide around inside the shoe when I run. They have also stayed completely dry in spite of going through puddles and ankle-deep snow. I'm really glad I got these, because they're a great winter running shoe.

The shoes are great, but if you are a long time Altra user, you know the sizes have historically run a half size too big. Now, with the latest transitions, the shoes fit more true to size. That said, I'm out a good chunk of money because I bought a half size too small. Other than that, these shoes are great and are most definitely water proof and perfect for wet or snowy hikes! I will just need to size up in the future.

I have wide feet and I'm obsessed with Altras for this very reason. I found these to be waterproof and the grip great, but there are circumstances that no matter how much grip you have a wet object is just slippery. I feel confident in these bad boys though and I'm 5'2, 260lbs.

Agree - Love the wider toe box and the stylin' look. Brought them for a walking tour in Ireland could not have been happier with the shoes. Water resistance indeed and great gripping all terrains sole.

I tried on these and immediately knew I was going to have to send back. I was highly anticipating that these would be my new favorite pair of Altra's. Too narrow in the forefoot and seemed that my heel was popping out which was bizarre. I'm a size 7 and I had no idea how to size this shoe, so I won't be trying a different size, will be returning and hope I find a pair comparable. All weathers were going to be my JAM, so bummed.

I'm a huge Altra advocate, but not anymore...
I'm a 5'5" 116lb female (athletic build) & wear a woman's 6.5 Wide (and I have high arches -__-). Their Lone Peak Trail Runners were the only shoes on the market I could find that were comfortable enough to hike in (many 14ers including Mt. Whitney); I raved to all my friends that they HAD to get these shoes.
I bought a newer pair of the Lone Peaks (because I finally blew out of my LP 5s), but I'm sending them back immediately. I tried on the new ones without a sock and already they were too narrow and my toes were hitting the front. I should have listened to the other reviews that stated similar issues, but I had to try them for myself. PLEASE BRING BACK WIDE SHOES. You are serving a widely (pun intended) underserved community for outdoor enthusiasts with wide feet.

Every few years I try on lone peaks, and they are painful on the top of my foot. But they fit the rest of my foot so well and have a touch more cushion than another zero drop brand I love, that I keep trying them on.
And every year I see complaints online about the painful pressure from the bottom of the laces that make them unusable, despite the fact that Altra maintains that these are made for women's feet with higher insteps. The volume is clearly there.
And I would never complain about shoes I haven't purchased, but I really want to buy them.
I talked to customer service about the LP alpine, and she adamantly insisted they would be awful for me because they were exactly the same and pointed me to other shoes with those suspicious pressure points at the bottom of shoes.
I ignored her, got the LP alpine on sale and they are PERFECT. I cannot wear them running or seriously off-trail, but I could walk on maintained trails and in cities forever.
So maybe they just don't know this is a problem for some people?
I have literally never ever had this problem before with a athletic-ish shoe. Or any shoe that ties. A few leather slip on shoes are tight on my instep. But hiking shoes. Climbing shoes. Approach shoes. Hiking boots. Trail and road running shoes. Multipurpose sneakers: none of them have ever hurt the top of my foot except this brand.
People with my problem can get the LP alpine for walking, which is amazing. I love it. It doesn't have that stupid laces pressure point.
But please please, Altra. Make a lone peak for technical use without that awful pressure point.

The fit is great, they are comfortable everything about that is great! HOWEVER , they hold moisture in them and so now whenever I wear them when I take them off my socks are that yucky moisture feeling, my feet look like they have been soaking in bath water too long. I've tried air drying them, I've tried the actual dryer but anytime I wear these shoes my feet are wet.

I purchased the lone peaks all weather low profile. I've never worn them hiking, simply to wear around campgrounds and after hikes. I loved getting back from a hike and putting these on. I left like my feet could relax and recover. I paid nearly 250$ CDN (including taxes). I used to love putting these on when it rained or with wet grass and they kept my feet dry. I'm not sure how it happened but they now have a small hole and the glue is coming apart at the seams. No longer waterproof. I am Very disappointed in the poor quality of these shoes, especially for the price. Would not recommend.

I bought the previous all weather Lone Peaks and loved them right out of the box. I need a wider toe box - they delivered and they kept my feet dry and comfy on technical terrain. I logged about 300 miles in them and had to admit they needed to be replaced. I was so excited for purple - my favorite color - but what happened??? The shoes feel smaller and narrower. They hurt my toes really bad and the toe seam is coming apart after maybe 30 miles in them. They physically hurt me to wear but I spent a lot on them and I was too stubborn to just send them back when I should have. Now I have a stained (because mud and water stain the heck out of these and they don't clean up like the previous model - be warned) and uncomfortable pair of falling apart shoes. Like another reviewer, I have chosen Topo now. Not only did they replace a defective pair of boots with barely any questions asked, but their toe box is wider like Altra used to be, and they fit my orthotics which Altra shoes don't anymore. I swore my loyalty to Altra and this experience proved that I can't rely on any brand to continuously deliver an amazing and consistent product. So sad because I was in all the way, Altra so why did you have to change??

I just don't understand. Every longtime Altra user I know is now searching for another shoe. I tried switching to men's to get the toe box I need. I tried the "original footshape". They're all too tight. These shoes were perfect and now my pinky toes are squished. Every color used to come in wide and now it's just ugly black or white. Switched to hokas and they're better but I just want my old Altras back. Why why why?

This is my first pair of Altras, recommended by a friend. I love these shoes. The fit is so comfortable. It seems to keep my foot in a natural postion, so no more rolling in due to a flat foot arch. They are a little warm to wear, I suppose due to the waterproofing.

I wear these shoes all day in the winter. I'm able to make trips outside in the snow without worrying about getting wet feet. Also use them for hiking. Great fit, great shoe!

Love these sneakers! I knew buying waterproof was going to be an issue. It's the only issue. I do get sweaty feet so that is a bummer. But they feel great, just the right cushion, but nice and sturdy to be on them all day. Going to try to buy the same style just not waterproof. Hopefully that will be perfect. Did already buy a different, more cushioned style. That pair I could not wear daily as they are softer for everyday use.
But I really do love these shoes.

My first pair of Altras did not disappoint and exceeded all of my expectations which I should say were quite high.
From the first step I could feel the difference from other brands that I have worn. No break in time needed, cushion and style top notch.
I was off to the canyons of Arizona without hesitation.
Thank you for an amazing shoe which I have already placed a second order for.
I am one happy customer.

I am in love these all weather tennis shoes. I live in a cold wet northern climate. These are warm, comfortable, and cute. I can run errands all day in the snow or slush and my feet stay cozy. I bought the light grey color and it goes with everything. They run true to size. I hope altra never stops making these.

Just got back from hike on light packed snow and my shoes were dry and kept my feet warm. They also were very waterproof from a March trip to Japan where we encountered rain and snow
I have problem feet with neuropathy in toes., but these shoes allow me to walk and hike painfree.

I used these for many 10-mile walks and hikes through the summer. Because of many comments about them being too snug, I sized up and wore with thin socks to accommodate the water proof liner. They stretched after a few days' wear and now I can wear with any socks. They're the happy place for my feet!

I mountain biked up Kilimanjaro and summited in these shoes. I absolutely love them. They were sturdy and dried quick. They were a great option for my trip. I now use them for hiking but can't wait to try them for trail running.
