I really wanted to love this shoe because it's a beautifully designed shoe and love all of its features. I was going to use these primarily for more aggressive hikes. The toe box however is way too narrow and my pinky on my right foot gets squished. I wore them around the house for a day and started getting a blister on my toe. I will be returning these unfortunately. I'm usually a size regular in terms of shoe width and previously wore the Torrent 2 (which I loved!) with no problem. So not sure if this shoe is more narrow than the average Hope they come out with a wide version!!

I am 58 and just started running again after 25 years. I always hated it. Liked off-road kinda butdecided to start sweating again and started slowly running. It's these shoes. I now love running. Never thought I'd say that.

I ordered these in an 8, and the arahi and zinal in an 8.5. I am an 8 in brooks but had tried on a pair of hokas last year in 8 and they were too tight, I read the mafates run a little larger and the 8s worked perfect. These were very cushioned and springy, my heels don't hurt (I think I have plantars fasciitis) and felt stable. I tend to over pronate and these seemed like they offer good stability. I have worn them around the house and to run errands, and plan to take them out for a run this week. I will update my review if there are any issues, but I plan to keep these.

Perfect for trail running. Lots of space in the toe box. Not too heavy

So this was my second pair, as I bought two at the same time and found both to run a half size big. I ended up with a 5.5's and I'm pretty true to size. They fit phenomenal now and I use them at the gym with my trainer, even when I'm not running these have been great weightlifting and pivoting. The design and boldness is awesome and I keep getting a lot of compliments on them. I would have to say I absolutely love the stability they provide. I really went for these mainly for the looksuccess in every aspect.

I run 15-20+ miles every week, have MTP arthralgia and have had orthopedic surgery of my ankle and lower leg and these shoes are perfect. They have amazing support, great cushion and stabilize well. This is probably the best running shoe I've bought in the last 15 years. So glad I finally tried Hoka. I was a new balance girl for the longest time. I've converted!

Bought these for a trip abroad to Scotland and Ireland and absolutely loved them. They had enough traction to support the walks in the nature parks and trails, but also extremely comfortable for walking the streets and taking in the sights. They are also very light for such a supportive shoe which was a huge bonus when trying to keep suitcase under weight limit . Highly recommend these for anyone who likes to hike, trail run, or just wants the extra traction. Do not recommend wearing on the treadmill due to the extra grip. I did this to test them before going outside just in case and they were very "tacky" to the tread. I used the true size recommender tool and ordered a half size smaller than I normally wear and they fit perfectly.

So I will start out by saying that I did not use them specifically for what they were designed for. I took mine out yesterday in 7 inches of glorious new fallen snow in my neighborhood. Now underneath said snow was a very uneven sidewalk and I also ran partially on the street. These shoes rock. I felt very secure running in them. They were extremely light, and my feet stayed dr even with out gtx . The profly+ is great under foot. Very soft and responsive. I also could feel my heal securely seated in the shoe. Loved it. Can't wait to get them I. The environment they were intended for

I ordered a 7.5 and I think they run a little bit big but they still feel great on my feet. I'm 71 and on my feet on cement floors all day. and they work great for that. Lots of cushion when you walk. Love the colors they have for this shoe. I would recommend a half size smaller.

These are great. I got another kind of Hoka to compare and was surprised at how different they were from each other. I have weird, skinny feet and ankles. I instantly knew I was keeping these as soon as I put them on around the house. I was wearing Asics for a long time, but I'm converted. My husband is getting some now too!

I bought these for 10k to half marathon trail running. I tried out other pairs from Hoka and other brands and nothing compares to the Mafate. So grippy, so springy. I look forward to the few times I run across pavement while trail running in these bc I feel like I have springs on my feet. I love the Profly+, it seems like the perfect combo of comfort and response. Very similar to the Mach 5 that I'm enjoying on the road. They are a tad wide for my feet but that just adds to the comfort and I haven't had any issues with the width on technical trails. They are perfection.

My first pair! I got a trail running shoe cause I'm a nurse and never sits at work and I also love to hike. My first shift at work with my new Hokas was like running around on clouds! I love them!

I have arthritis is one ankle. Doctor wants to do surgery but I’m trying to avoid doing so. My foot doctor suggested HOKA shoes. I was skeptical that a shoe could give the relief I needed The first time I put them on I had instant relief and I’m not even kidding one bit! Ordering another pair right now!

I usually wore Inov-8 trail running shoes for my Spartan races, but I needed something with MORE support. These Mafate exceeded my expectations. Super comfortable during 13 miles of running. It handled the rocky terrain well. Never slipped. Had to walk thru water and run after and the shoe did not soak up the water. Shoes still felt super light unlike others that feel like bricks. Also handled the mud well without losing grip. Best trail running shoes ever!

. This is my 10th pair of Hokas and I will continue to purchase because of the great quality and comfort. These shows are light weight also and fit true to size.

I really like the style and color. Not enough insole for my arch as I would like. Added scholls insole and fit better for insole. Although now. Toes are higher just barely but didn't realize I raise my big toes up so much and the click on the seam

I've heard and seen so much about Hokas I decided to finally try them. They felt hard and cheaply made sort of like stilettos for tennis shoes. I moved on to Mizuno (not bad) and Brooks (better, going to test drive). Also, the colors and style of the Hoka shoes are a bit too much even for me who really loves color.

I started wearing Hokas before they became all the rage that they are now. My first Hoka was the Speedgoat 3 & it was awesome for hiking & jogging on uneven trails. Although the 3 was a bit more clunky looking than all the versions since, I honestly loved the padding all around & the great sole cushioning support. I have been disappointed in the newer versions of Speedgoat 4 & 5 with the thin tongue & the sole does not have the same amount of support. I was hoping the Mafate Speed 4 would be more like the old Speedgoat style, but alas it was not. The padding was stiffer, making the shoe not give that bounce back support Hoka is known for. I ended up buying a pair of Speedgoat 5, which is still the best sneaker I found for trail hiking/running, but not as great as the version 3 :(

I wanted to like these Hoka shoes bc they felt great on my feet but, they make a loud squishy noise when you walk in them. I couldn’t stand that. The shoes are very comfortable otherwise.
