Size and width were fine. But toe box narrowed squishing my toes and the depth of the toe box put pressure on the top of my toes making these show uncomfortable after a few minutes of wearing. Shoe looked good. Heel fit nicely.

The fit was true to size and definitely a wide width. Good arch support. Very comfortable right out of the box--feels like a tennis shoe but with support. What makes these shoes work for me is that I could loosen the laces (a lot) to fit my wide/short foot. It's like a custom fit.

I was looking for a hiking shoe rather than a boot, I have sore feet prone to plantar faciitis and wanted a supportive shoe with good grip for outdoor, non-paved, walking/hiking trails. These seem to be light shoes, look good, comfy, and I feel very firmly on the ground/good grip (I just don't want to slip and fall). I have high instep and high arches and these fit very nicely, the length was right for my 8.5 size and the wide width fit right- I am a C width and these are a D width. Sometimes D is too wide and these are just right, so if you wear a D these might not be comfy for you. I could use more support in the arch but these have some which is better than none. Overall, I'm very happy with these, keeping in mind that I haven't hiked in them yet.

I usually wear a size 7.5 but ordered up to size 8 based on Zappos recommendation. Perfect fit and feel right out of the box. Great arch support and roomy toe box. I wore out my seven year old Moab 2 waterproof shoes and am glad to know Merrell is still making great shoes.

The best shoes just got better. Wore out two pair of the Moab 2s after years of daily use, replaced them with more Moab 2s but now with new larger orthotics had to go to a wide size. Took a chance on the brand new Moab 3 and they’re even better. Supportive, comfortable out of the box, slightly rounder toe box than previous versions and better looking on - when you need a 9.5 wide, it matters. Ordering another pair of the 3s shortly.

Usually wear 11 wide but merrel always fit a bit short in the toes, maybe not even a full half size, but noticeable. I donated to charity two pairs of moab 2 for that reason. But i decided to try the moab 3. Glad i did. The toes aren’t as cramped, length is satisfactory with regular socks (but will feel short with heavy socks), the arch fits in a better place, and there’s more cushion in the ball. Sadly no one seems to make 11.5, but if you are planning to wear thick socks, i recommend the moab 3 in a men’s size 10. (The size 9.5 is too short for a true size 11 gal.) hope this advice helps. I have a short wide foot am and hard to fit. I bought size 6 Wide and they fit perfect. They were comfortable from the first time that I wore them. The are light weight and sturdy, too. I am very happy I bought these. I did change the inner sole for a memory foam one. That is just a personal preference and is notnecessary. necessary. If there is a shortcoming it is the arch support could improve.

Love these shoes. I was undecided with 7 or 7 1/2. I have arch supports that i sometimes add if needed. I did get the 7 1/2 they fit perfect and no need for any extra support.

I wear a wide width and usually buy half size up in any type of athletic shoe to still have enough width in the toe box for comfort. Did not have to do that with these. I used them hiking the weekend after I received them and they were extremely comfortable. The toe box is nice and wide and rounded so it doesn't narrow at the tip like so many others. I would highly recommend!

I was looking to buy something that I could wear all day long as my work requires prolonged standing and walking. These are possibly good for hiking based on the sole. I love the color, size fit and the shape!

This is a nice shoe with a durable sole. Unfortunately, it's too wide and also a bit long. I would have exchanged this shoe for a narrow instead of a medium width but it isn't offered. I'll have to return the shoe instead.

I have a Merrell Moab FST - they're old but fit perfectly The Moab 2 and 3 don't fit as well. They come up too high and rub on my ankle bones.

To replace an old (2014) Moab 2 vent pair of shoes, I bought the Moab 2 WP, Moab 2 Vent and Moab 3 Vent for purposes of comparison, and they all had a different fit. What the differences are between Moab 2 Vent and Moab 3 Vent I could not tell. Overall, the Moab 3 Vent was comfortable, but were too wide. Even with my thickest socks on, there was still room to move my feet from side to side in the Moab 3. The tongue is also longer than the 2014 version, to the point that it hits the front of my ankle with every step. Merrell has added so much extra padding to both width and height of all versions of the Moab that the shoes are just plain ugly, making my feet look huge (unlike the 2014 version). If Merrell returns to its older slimmer design, I will look at the Moab once again. In the meantime, I ended up with the Oboz Sawtooth (which is not without its own issues).

Have worn Merrell Moab 3 for years- excellent quality has never changed. I am 81, walk every day in these shoes only. Worth every penny!!!

I recently bought this Moab 3 and a Moab 2 goretex, for when I need a waterproof shoe. I prefer this non- waterproof Moab 3 for comfort and flexibility. I agree with a few other reviewers who think the Moab 3 is better, in that it feels more cushioned and comfortable. But both 2 and 3 are great shoes.

I actually wrote just wrote a review and was about to return these before even trying them on. Changed my mind. I DO like these after all! In the box they looked sort of clunky and ugly, but I tried them on for kicks and like the fit and look a lot now. I have narrow heels, high arches, and bunions but these are pretty darn comfortable! There's even decent arch support. I live in the mountains and these are definitely mountain shoes. Thanks Zappos for your reliably fast shipping!

I’d tried on a number of these, and my heel slid out of most. This fit wonderfully.

I should have listened to the many comments that said to order a half-size up from what you normally wear. I had to return the first pair ordered to go up a half size. Second pair is comfortable so far!

I wear 7 M in all shoes but based on reviews and Zappos’ recommendation I ordered 7 1/2 M. They were OK but not great in length and too wide even with socks. My foot slid side to side much too easily, something I don’t want while hiking. Outside of the width issue the shoe felt sturdy and had fairly good arch support.

This shoe is for someone with a LOT of volume in their feet. I have wide toe, narrow heel. I tried tightening the laces but it's still too wide. In addition, there's no cushioning in this shoe. I would return it but I've already worn it outside. I thought I could make it work but sadly, I'm stuck with it. I plan to bring it to my local consignment shop and hopefully recap a tiny portion of what I paid. If you have a LOT of volume in your foot, or have a wide foot and don't mind a very hard sole with no cushioning, this may work well for you.
