I've used this pack for day excursions into the Colorado Rockies and it's perfectly sized for a pair of binos, a first aid kit, snacks and a rain shell/fleece. The exterior side pocket is perfect for a water bottle and was one of the reasons I chose the Rip Ruck 15 over the Urban Assault 18. The 'Wood' color is attractive and the large opening with magnetic closure is a great feature.

Nice backpack, but it seemed like it was only half finished. Oh, why on earth it doesn't have second bottle sleeve? (And why it's so hard to make perfect working bottle sleeves for 32oz Nalgene? It's too tight if full of gear inside) It has been great for example umbrella and sitting pad etc. Also they should add vertical webbing on the other side of backpack and the bottom so user can expand carry capacity with shockcord etc if needed. That would be especially important when using such a small backpack. I don't want to carry bigger backpack for "just in case" I have to put something extra in it on the road. Why it is so hard to make a masterpiece.

Only have had this for a month now. Love all the inside pockets as they are in the correct spots. The outside of the pack has no wear on it. It is the perfect size for out on the town or going to work as it fits in my locker. The only fabric is extremely tough but things like feathers or lint sticks to it. I will update this review if it catches. It holds heavy weights very well. Stanley Growler full of beer and all my other stuff and it didn't feel like I had that much weight in it. My back was still happy so win win. I will be buying another in a new color. Just love the little thing.

Bought this for a trip to NYC and it fit our tripod, small umbrellas, coats, water and miscellaneous small items. Small enough to be maneuverable and a personal item for air travel but big enough to pack for a day trip. Very durable and rugged build but still simple and minimal enough to be stylish, love the minimalist design and capability. Double zipper main rip-zip panel access entry can be a bit cumbersome/finicky to open without using one side zip at a time, perhaps bigger zipper would help? Love the magnets! Would love to see this same minimalist design in the 24L. Overall excellent mini pack!

Got this backpack as a day hiking pack and a go bag. It so far has been great for both! The inside compartment has plenty of room, and the webbing on the outside makes attaching jackets or other items easy with rope or molle clips. The water bottle pocket is a bit small but fits my 15oz nalagen.

I originally got this bag to be used as a personal item while flying. The small size is perfect for my iPad, keyboard, and a sweater. I liked it so much I ended up taking it to work every day. I also like the low pro water bottle holder. The quality is top notch, exactly what I would expect from this brand. The black color and material does collect some visible lint. This is a non issue for me, but may be bothersome to some. Some complaints were that the main pouch was hard to open. I did not have that experience. If you rip it open with a little force it works great. Overall extremely pleased.

I've been through some packs, whether EDC, day pack or whatever and this one is perfect! It's durable, lightweight, perfect amount of pockets, laptop area is stellar and the large opening on the top is where it's at. I literally take it everywhere. We'll done!

Bought recently to keep some of my gear around the firehouse in. Love the quick access magnetic function. Not too big, not too small, super lightweight. Never owned any gear from Mystery Ranch, but quality seems very nice and was exactly what I was looking for.

Needed a pack to transport a tablet and other essentials for my new hybrid workplace commuting routine. Did extensive research finding most of my options either poorly designed, cheaply made, too large, or honestly too tactically ugly. Until I discovered the Rip Ruck 15. This is one well thought out pack believe me. Its level of organization is just perfect for a light commuting. Materials are top tier and color combinations are brilliant. My foliage green looks even better than depicted on website. Perfect commuting partner that I highly recommend for the hybrid worker.

I bought this bag a month ago looking for a small compact EDC pack that wasn't a spartan Go Ruck bag with no pockets. I am pretty happy so far and do agree with other reviews that the only thing lacking is a zippered pocket in the top lid. Bag holds my normal load out of phone charger, multi tool, flashlight, cordage, BIC lighter, writing pad, hygiene and med kit, snacks, CCW, sunglasses and even have room for an extra layer (light jacket or sweat shirt) if needed. I like how the straps have good cushioning as well as a sternum strap and the water bottle sleeve is a nice add on and will hold a slender Hydro Flask or similar. I am 6 ft, 260 lbs so not a little guy and this fits the bill just great for me.

Bought this as a training Ruck. Threw in 25 lb and other gear today and took it for a 7-mile test ride! Simply the most comfortable pack I've tried and beats the others hands down.

I've been searching for the perfect backpack to haul my kit during 3-4 day trips. Not to carry clothes but to haul 2 tablets, a hot spot, cables, snacks, a water bottle and not look like a college kid who can't get their life together or a tacticool junkie. This bag looks good, has space for my stuff, and doesn't look weird. Magnet closure? Genius! Great bag, worth the money and built to be punished. Fits easily under an airplane seat fully loaded and I have the stuff I need to keep me in the mix even if my checked bag gets lost for a day. Awesome productif you are on the fence, jump in and grab this bag.

The Rip Ruck 15 is my everyday carry work backpack. I usually have my laptop, some gear and lunch in this bag. It's really lite and very comfortable. The zippers to to main compartment were stiff for the first few days but now they simultaneously move up and down like butter. I also took this bag with us on our trip to Hawaii for lite day travel. It fit a few bottles of water, essentials, small drone, remote, and batteries and still plenty of room. This is a really nice quality bag and after several months of ownership, still looks like new.

My sole purpose of this purchase was to use this pack as a Personal/Carry On bag for a recent trip to Mexico. After days of searching online, I ended up choosing the RipRuck 15. Upon receiving the package, I knew I made the right choice. The materials were top notch. I managed to squeeze 3 days of clothing, a pair of shoes, a dopp kit, all the tech and charging items I needed, as well as a few other odds and ends. This thing held up great, was the perfect size for my needs, and was comfortable to carry. I have intentions of using this for many varying purposes in the future and currently looking into a few other Mystery Ranch products. Would highly recommend this pack specifically as my experience was great with it. Time will tell as far as durability goes, however, I have no doubt that it will hold up.

I wanted a smaller pack for daily work/night school, and daily stuff. Survives it all, and hangs out of the way with a hero clip when it's not on my back. Tight and organized. Holds my water bottle, textbook for studying, and iPad with a tight little bit of room to expand. Awesome organization. Velcro inner pocket if you wanted to hang further organizers inside.

The Rip Ruck 15 is the perfect small backpack for travel. I purchased this backpack for a recent trip to Costa Rica and everyday carry. I used the backpack as my personal item on the flight and it easily fit under the seat. The backpack has several pockets and usable space. I was able to fit my kindle, Inreach, binoculars, rain jacket, first aid kit, water bottle, and snacks with room to spare. I would highly recommend this backpack for travel.

I've used the product daily since I purchased it. It continues to surprise me nearly every day. I find new useful pockets, tabs, and slots. It's very comfortable and I feel like there isn't any additional "feature" that isn't useful. I love the rip top it's easy to get into. It's a great pack! I'm glad I got it. Perfect for a daily use first aid productivity pack.

I bought this for a get home bag to keep in my car. I have a larger one for my Jeep (daily driver) but the size and outstanding quality of this is perfect for my second get home bag.
