I honestly never write reviews but this bag fit all my needs perfectly and I'm very happy with the product. I use it as my bag for work and also for they gym and it fits everything I need without a problem and stays compact. If I could change anything I would add more organization in the side pocket. There's a good amount of room for small items but aside from small sleeves there is no way to store smaller items without them being loose in the pocket. Instead of 3 small pen sleeves, I would prefer 2 more medium sized sleeves. An additional zip mesh pocket would be good for storing smaller items in here as well. As for the main compartment, the only thing I would change would be the two zip pockets along the side of the bag. I think if they attached to the main body of the bag at the bottom, it would create two additional nice pockets for storing small items. These are all just constructive points that I am making because I find this bag so useful to me that these are the changes I would make to better suit me personally every day. Maybe in a future iteration, these changes can be implemented. This is still a 5 star product I would recommend to anyone.

This bag is incredible. I use it as a work bag, and it is absolutely perfect. Great internal pocket layout, solid construction that Mystery Ranch is known for, and the bag just looks cool as heck. The "Rip" feature is awesome and something I never knew I needed. For the size, this is a hard bag to beat.

I bought this pack for work. I have an Irban Assault 18, but wanted something with an external pouch for water bottle or radio. Nice padded compartment for laptop, also tablet sleeve that also has large Velcro panel. Nice organized pocket for pens, etc on the front of the pack. Now using this as my daily edc and the UA18 for a change of clothes, etc.

Love the look of the pack, the magnetic lid is a cool feature and makes for easy access. The padded straps are very comfortable. I took it snowboarding and it held up beautifully. Kept everything dry all day.

I really love this bag. Perfect edc size - I've been using it since I got it. The rip zip design is super convenient, and the sewed in a couple magnets so if you don't want to pull down the zippers every time, the top flap will magnetically stay down - really cool feature. Obviously made extremely well - typical MR. I just really love this bag.

I love the magnets in the opening flap! It is great to pull in one place and have the whole top open up. Equally as cool that the magnets keep the flap closed when unzipped. It fits my Surface Pro laptop okay, but I wish the exterior pocket was large enough to store the power pack and mouse. Since these things do not fit in the small front pocket, I have to store them in the main body of the pack where they get in the way. I also wish the interior pockets were a little larger to store small snacks, pens, keys, etc. All in all, I love it. Thank you!!!

Took this with me on a business trip that required a lot of walking around the city. Love the size and function. My only complaint is the zipper on the small front compartment, the zipper catches the material almost every time requiring me to work to get it out. A better zipper for this compartment would be nice. Like one similar to the main compartment.

I bought this to be my EDC bag to/from the office. I like the size and simplicity. It has some good organization and pockets separating items. The only thing I am not crazy about is the shoulder straps are a little thin and flimsy compared to other MR bags I've had but this obviously isn't designed for load hauling and doesn't need big heavy straps but it was a bit disappointing because they feel a bit cheap. Overall though I'm happy with the bag.

I purchased my Rip Ruck 15 back in August 2021, and have carried it 4-5 times a week since (at the time of writing this, I've been carrying it for 7 months). I don't currently have photos of the pack, but will add them later if I can come back and edit the post. Overall it's a good pack for daily use. I normally have a doff for charging cables, a small notebook, water bottle, knife, torch, Kindle, a few pens, some basic medication, and a jacket or hoodie inside. For a small number of items, it's a great choice. The pack has held up well and shows almost no signs of wear thus far, and I expect it to last a long time. The straps are comfortable for longer wear (a day at the park or a convention) and the chest harness keeps the pack from bouncing around or sliding around when bending or stretching. The fabric is resistant to scuffs and such, and in the rain my stuff was kept dry, though I didn't try this in a downpour. I added a couple of metal rings on the webbing to help clip keys or airpods on the exterior of the bag, and while it does have a water bottle holder on one side, I mainly use that pocket for my torch and anything else that I may want quicker access to. The internal organization is pretty good (I'll touch on this again later), and it has plenty of pockets in the main compartment of the bag to keep items secure and separated. The front pocket is also easily accessible for a wallet, small notebook, or a few pens and such. There are a number of missed opportunities though. -As mentioned in other reviews, I don't know why there wasn't a pocket included in the flap on the top of the bag. This would have been a great extra pocket to have, I really don't know why it wasn't included. - Also mentioned by others, the fabric of the pack is a magnet for pet hair and the like. If I want to keep the bag free of any pet hair, I would have to run a lint brush over it frequently. This isn't a huge deal because I generally hang my bag up when I get home, but when I do put it down on the floor or couch, I find hair on any surface that came into contact with the floor or furniture. To be fair, I do have a cat, but I find more hair on the pack than I do on anything else in the house. - The water bottle pocket- if you put a bottle in the pocket, it takes up space inside of the pack. Again, this is something that doesn't affect me too much because I put other items in that pocket, but it's worth considering if you do want to use it for its intended purpose. I'd like to have seen a second similar pocket on the opposite side of the bag, as well as some sort of magnetic closure (like the top flap uses) to keep items in the exterior pocket a little more secure. It's a small thing, but having an extra exterior pocket and magnetic closures on them would be very useful. -Looking at the interior of the bag, I have only one request that could be added for functionality; a loop or place to clip a carabiner or keychain clip. It's a small thing, but unless I want to clip my keys to a zipper pull on the inside of the pack there is no place to put them aside from the other pockets, which are already used for other items. This is the type of small detail that I had expected to see in the pack, and I was very surprised that it wasn't there. While this is a bit lengthy in terms of things I would have like to have seen on the pack, I will still say that I am mostly happy with it. The changes that I would make to it aren't deal breakers, and I don't regret my purchase. I would definitely recommend the Rip Ruck 15 for people that want a smallish pack to use for a daily commute or day trip. It holds up to everything that I need it for, and I do expect a long life of use out of the pack (unless it is re-released with a few upgrades).

This is a nice bag, but ultimately it didn’t make sense for my use. I was looking for a new edc computer bag to use with a MacBook Pro 16 inch. The rip ruck 15 sleeve fit the MBP 16 and even handled the MBP 16 in a Tom Bihn sleeve. I really liked the Velcro flap for securing the laptop. What I wasn’t excited about is that sides of the laptop sleeve/pocket are not padded. The other issue is that the gap between the bottom of the sleeve and the bottom of the bag collapses when the bag isn’t loaded with other items to support the structure. This meant that the corners of the laptop were not as protected as the design suggested. This is why I experimented with the Tom Bihn sleeve. There were a couple of other minor features that didn’t seem as useful in person as they appeared in the description. The small interior pockets were a little bit awkward and I couldn’t find an immediate use for them. The interior Velcro panel Was also attractive when I read about it, but it’s location behind the mesh pocket reduced it’s functionality.

Awesome bag I use it as my EDC only complaint is the internal side pockets could be deeper but other than that the bag has good internal dividers.

I purchased this bag for work to carry daily necessities and a tablet. It will also likely be used for travel and occasional EMT events. Overall I like this bag. Here are some things I like: It is a great size and shape. It fits well in the Givi Outback Topcase on my Tenere. It holds as much as some larger bags. I like the rip opening and the option to leave it partially zipped so you can get into the bag easily via those awesome magnets. The velcro panel in the tablet sleeve is useful for velcroing things. The bottle holder is a good size for my Contigo coffee mug and medium-sized water bottles (32oz would be super tight and not ideal). The zipper pockets in the main compartment are useful. The chest strap is fine (I do not know why folks are complaining). The shoulder straps are a little long (even with a thick coat) and I will likely shorten them. I like how the bag stands up on its own and how the lid flips over the top so it becomes a handy bucket. Improvement Suggestions (I hope MR is listening): The two rows of molle on the lid are not very usable. If you mount anything there the lid will not fold open properly. Plus the orientation is wrong - if you mount anything there it will bump into the carry handle. PLEASE put the molle on the side of the bag. I would already have my flashlight and multi-tool mounted to the side of the bag if the molle were there instead. The front pouch does not hold very much. The slots are too big for pens and too small for CR123 flashlights. Full-length pens contact the zipper. I have one stubby pen and a notepad in there and it is pretty much full. I admit this is nit-picky, but I do not like how the Velcro panel has the MR logo in it. It makes me not want to use the panel because the logo is so cool and would only be partially covered by my medic patch. With that said, this is a nice bag and I think it will serve me well.

I bought this a month ago, it's a great pack. It's kinda used and my minimalist day pack. I keep some get home gear and some troubleshooting and repair tools as I'm an electrician. Love the rip open design, I just wish there were more pockets/molle loops for organization. I was pumped when I first saw the pockets on the side of the pouch as I thought this would be perfect for my flashlight, headlight, and fixed blade knife. But the zipper pouch is too short and the "pocket it sits on has no bottom so things fall right to the bottom of the pack. I wish at least one side of the pack had a deep narrow pocket for things like flashlights, lifestraw, and the like. I like the zipper pouch on the face of the pack as things are perfectly accesible when I sling the pack off my left shoulder and over my right side. I thing some molle straps on the side opposite from the drink pouch would be great too. I actually keep my tools and edc gear in the pack in molle pouches so being able to put those on the outside if I need room for extra clothes would be nice. Overall I keep it with me every day and it serves its purpose well. I love it.

The 15L is a great design, but could use a second gen redesign. If they mirrored this design instead of the awkward 24L option, it would be much more ideal. If you're using this for carrying much more than a laptop, sweatshirt, and water bottle, you will quickly find yourself running out of space. I had the 24L as well but really disliked the layout, especially the useless front pockets and inexplicable lack of a water bottle pocket. I want to like the brand mystery ranch more, but it seems like the design team calls it quits when they hit about 80 percent completion of putting together a good product. So close, but not quite.

I own a lot of MR gear for personal use and gov work. This is the first bag that I'm not totally in love with. I think that if it were made of 500D instead of the lighter and cheaper feeling 330RF I would like it more. Great size for short trips or a carry on just needs to feel tougher.

I bought this pack last year and used it daily for maybe 1-ish month before taking a trip with it. On the first day the front zippered compartment ripped on the zipper leaving the front pocket ripped open for smaller items (think money, glasses, passport, etc.) to fall out. I fixed the rip with a safety pin before sewing it myself when I got home but was disappointed to say the least. Maybe my bag was a lemon but it could be a problem if you bust a seam without noticing. Pros> Good size, fast access, whole bag easily accessible (handy for when on a plane), very good grab handle, convenient MOLLE, and decent comfort after long periods of wear Cons> find of finnicky to close, only 1 water bottle pocket, interior storage works in theory but kind of a pain in real use, no ventilation on the back and (of course) poor quality.
