My experience is based on the ATR 5, but sharing this experience will likely help with ATR 6 too. I bought Stinson ATR5 in the same size as I wear in the Bondi and was surprised to find that the ATR felt HUGE. My heel kept slipping out and it felt like my foot was swimming around in excess space. Fortunately COVID restrictions lifted before I finished the product return. The girl at the running store showed me that there are TWO "lace holes" at the top of the shoe. If you run laces through the hole farthest at top and slightly to the back (towards heel), the laces pull the heel into place. It is now a completely different shoe! (It's wild that using one hole only a centimetre away from another would make such a difference!)
I've now worn them on a few romps around the neighborhood and my favorite part is the curve toward the front of the shoe. It really gives you the feeling of being "launched" forward.
I like a plush ride and maximum stability. I've always been Bondi fan for this reason, but sometimes it feels like an "old lady shoe" I wanted to get something more fun and playful, so tried the Speed Goat, which is described as "Responsive" and found it way to flat and narrow. I'm pumped that my second attempt was the Stinson ATR.
I find that the Stinson ATR gives a great mix of new playful, expressive energy with Bondi-style comfort I've grown to love.
Great Shoe! Remember to try different lacing techniques if it at first feels it doesn't fit.

I have many Hoka versions. I like this sneaker for shorter trail hikes and for walking on pavement. Lots of cushion but not spongy. My biggest Hoka complaint (which is minor in the big picture) is the colors. They are either drab or girlie. Give me some cool outdoorsy tech colors!

I love this latest model. Hoka shoes are the only athletic shoe I will ever wear. I have turned so many people on to them. I used to wear Nike and would look for their thickest sole. Then, a nurse friend of mine told me about Hoka. I have had 7 or 8 pairs now, and I like to have 3 brand new pairs rotating at the same time because I walk 4-6 miles a day and have bad knees, have had plantar fasciitis in the past. But ever since I started with my first pair of Hokas my foot pain is gone! Trying to save my bad knees as much as possible now - so Hoka is the only shoe I trust. This model is great!!!!!

I've been wearing Hokas for 5 years: Cliftons 1-3 and most recently the Stinson ATR 5. Loved them all. Until Hoka feels the need to make drastic changes, then i have to search for a new shoe to wear with my orthotics for plantar fasciitis and Morton's Neuroma.
These are incredibly painful on the bony part of he top of my foot. Tried wearing heavier running socks, mole skin, loosening and moving laces and nothing works. Back they go!

I had bunion surgery on both of my feet less than a year ago and am also recovering from very painful plantar fasciitis in my right foot that has been ailing me for exactly a year. It has been a test of my patience to find shoes that are comfortable on my feet. I have literally tried and returned about a dozen pair of shoes. These are my first pair of Hoko One One shoes.
The Stinson ATR 6 has been a lifesaver for me. With my custom orthotics, the support in my arch is in exactly the right place. I feel like I am walking on clouds and the shoes provide me with the support I need. They also feel pretty light. My husband told me to buy a few more pair. Please don't change anything on this shoe. Waiting for a pair of Bondi 6's so I can try to start running on the road again. So happy and relieved that I finally can just put on my sneakers and go! Thanks a million!

Fit was perfect! They are also super lightweight. I ordered the women’s size 8.5. I am an Amazon Delivery Driver and my feet have started to hurt, not only that but sometimes depending on the terrain I’ve started to get blisters on my heels from constantly running up and down steep concrete driveways daily. SO, I decided to purchase these shoes and wow - I just unboxed them, so I haven’t worn them yet.. BUT I did however take them for a test drive around the house and WOOOOWWW! these are an absolute dream. The traction is awesome and the cushioning on the shoe from front to back is phenomenal. It feels like walking on a cloud - you literally have cushion from the back of the heel to the toe front. In my profession - this shoe is a game changing for me; Especially speed walking 14+ miles a day in dirt, rocks, mud, concrete,
Etc and carrying heavy boxes. I am all about traction and comfortability... & these hit the spot.
Highly recommend this shoe for anyone who likes comfortability :)

These shoes look hilarious but the support and cushion are no joke. I wear them for jogging, hiking and trail running. The grip is great, and I feel like the roll of the sole has helped me to not overstrain my knees. As a short person, I also love the extra height they give me!
I'd love to see more color options for these shoes. Fluorescent orange is my favorite!

True story - my house burned to the ground in the Colorado Marshall fire and I evacuated with 1 pair of shoes - the ones I was wearing. My 3rd pair of Stinson ATRs. The only shoes I can trail run in without foot pain. Will wear them forever.

Once you know, you know. Once you experience the life-changing runs and hikes Hoka can give you, you never go back. I've also converted my wife. The two of us are definitely unofficial brand ambassadors based upon our experiences alone.
I'm a firm believer that these shoes are an investment that pays exponential dividends in joy and more years with your original knees.

These shoes are a game changer for me! I have issues with sciatica from time to time. Six weeks ago, it flared up really badly. Pain radiates down my back, right thigh, and calf. Pain ends just above my right foot. The pain has been very severe... so much so that muscle relaxers, hydrocodone, and steroids don’t even begin to touch it. Normally, I go on 5-6 mile hikes daily (so long as weather cooperates). Since this started, I have had to stop hiking. It’s been all I can do just to go to the park and walk half mile laps slowly around their flat paved loop. By the end of each lap, the pain is so severe that I have had to stop, rest, and stretch to be able to get back up and tolerate a lap. Even then, four laps is my maximum before the pain is too severe to continue.
I’ve been using these shoes for the last three days. Since starting to use them, I haven’t experienced any pain in my walks. I’ve been doing ten laps per day (5miles) with only one break thrown in to replenish my fluids and let my dogs get a drink (it’s been very hot and humid here). This week coming up, I’m going to try to get back out into the forest to see if I can get back to my hikes. I’ve been setting a pretty good pace in these- 16 minute miles, given how much pain I was in just a few days ago.
The cushioning in these shoes is superior to any other shoe I’ve ever worn. It’s like walking on a cloud. I feel like they have also changed the break over point in my stride, and they help to drive me through my stride more fluidly and quickly.
I’d have paid a lot more for these to be able to get up and walk again pain free like I have been. Before this round of sciatica, being able to walk comfortably was something I had always taken for granted. This flare up has been so much worse than anything before it. I’ve never had it affect my leg before. Even after this clears up, I plan to continue buying Hoka shoes. As it is, I’m getting ready to buy a pair for running shoes and the recovery flips for around the house. I think ASICS (gel kayano) has lost me as a customer, as I am going to stick with the shoes that make walking so much more comfortable for me.

I'm very disappointed in this, my second pair of Hokas. I have used this pair only on the treadmill until this past Sunday. The tread points are wearing off the bottom.

I needed cushioning with a great tread for rugged trails
While this is a "running shoe" designed for trail running it works well for hiking. The toe box is wide and unlike hiking boots my toes don't jam into the front as there is more room

I hike daily and I love the fit and cushioning of the Stinson. I wear Bondi's on the pavement and my Stinson on the dirt. They are fantastic. More colors, please!

Life-changing! You will love how comfortable, light, and supportive these shoes are. Wide toe box, high-quality feel, and great value for the price. I am a long-time fan of this brand, and Stinson are my favorite!

I purchased the bondi 7's for inside the house and wear them outside on non muddy/snowy days. Also great for long walks where you may not need a rugged sole. I purchased the stinson atr 6's for longer outside hikes on and off road. Highly recommend either pair especially helpful with plantar fasciitis.

I was recommended to buy these sneakers from a Neurosurgeon I work with. And that recommendation made my feet ultra Happy!!! I commute to work and I walk about a half mile in between. It's like I'm wearing Plush carpet under my feet not to mention how light they are on my feet. Best investment I will be buying more.

I researched a lot before I made the purchase of this Hoka Stinson ATR 6. I knew coming in that Stionson has a wider toe boxes, which means to my feet that it is gonna be a tiny bit bigger, about half size compared to my Saucony Endorphin Speed(which I bought at Zappo as well!)
But that's exactly my intention to buy a hoka, to feel the comfort and support for longer, all terrain running shoes. I use Endorphin Speed for my fast track, new record setting days and Hoka for recovery, fun, long endurance run. It feels amazing in my feet especially I wear toe socks that spreads my toes a bit more. I love rotating between these two. I tried Hoka Challenger ATR 5 previously but I am returning as it is too stiff for long, recovery run, and I did not like the racings on the challenger and could feel the races through the thin tongue. Racing in stinson is just perfect and I don't feel them as the racings/holes are independent from the the tongue itself. Love the cushioning and color is awesome(indigo)! So vibrant and fun. The style seems a bit bulky from the sides just because of the max cushioning and the wider toe box, but that is the price to pay for the comfort and support! Still looks so stylish compared to other brands for sure!
I'd also recommend:

They are still better than most shoes..i have an arthritic toe and it does speak to me after a 3 hour hike. Not like before though.
Wondering if there is a pair of hokas with a bigger toe box

I put these on and immediately loved them. They felt plush yet responsive and grippy, durable and water resistant. But when out on the trails (casual runs on well maintained mountain trails) I found myself tripping often because the footprint is so much larger and the edges of the sole stick out much farther than my foot and more than I was used to with any other shoe. I immediately switched to a slimmer trail shoe for more technical runs because I didn't feel safe hot stepping over rocks and roots. But yesterday I found myself in these shoes and without thinking, I left the gravel path to run down a trail towards a popular waterfall. The inside edge of the shoe hooked a root and stayed while my body kept going forward and I went down hard. I packed my sock with snow from the side of the trail, hobbled a mile and a half back to the car and am now in bed with a fractured foot and severely sprained ankle looking at 6-8 weeks of recovery. It was an unfortunate accident and falling is a risk on any run but without a doubt, these shoes contributed. Everyone has a different foot and running style but for me, these are too wide to be safe on the trails. I will still wear them for walking and running the neighborhood and maybe even a gravel path through the woods. I get that a wide base is necessary for stability in a tall, plush shoe, but maybe "trail running shoe" is not the safest label for these.

I tried them for walking on cement and found them too high and wobbly. I then tried them on pebbly trail walking and tripped on them. I then tried for vertical ascent and decent trail and felt they gripped well and kept good traction. As I am past the return date I shall have to use them only as trail hiking shoes and then with great care not to trip.

Stinson has always been my go to for hiking -trail miles . The roomy toe box that has always accommodated foot splay on uneven terrain is now notably narrow, to the point of causing cramping within the first mile and numbness shortly after. PLEASE offer this shoe in a wide width
