Good arch support, like the tongue and ankle. Runs large; I am usually 9.5 but 9 fit. Only problem is there are wrinkles in the Goretex liner and real rubbing potential at the sides of the big toe joints.

I wear hoka bondi's and love them, I was hoping these would feel like those. They are much firmer, they are big in the toes but tight on the ankles. The ankle cuff may be my issue, I have not found many that I like.

I'm using these as a work boots, all indoors, but I've already sent back my first pair (2 months old)after the glue ate away the leather and also a split in the leather..now my new replacement pair (1month) is showing signs of the same thing. Gonna have to send them back as well. So comfortable but what is with that glue that eats leather!? Please change the glue....they are good shoes

Love Hokas, but these were a bust for me. They were a full size too large, so the sizing is definitely off. The "plush" cushioning isn't nearly as plush and comfortable as the Stinson ATR 6, which may just reflect the difference between a trail runner and a hiking boot. The boot cut is very high and hurts my shins - I think I need to stick with mids. Again, love Hoka as a brand, but these were shipped back the next day.

I need more heel to toe drop and hoped these with 6mm drop would be enough, but not. Also, foot slid around as a bit too roomy and when tried tying tighter, could feel pressure of laces. Great boots, , but not for everyone.

These hiking boots are very comfortable and support my feet and ankles on rough terrain. They are waterproof but have not had the opportunity to test that aspect. The style is good and I love the blue color. The reason for the 3 stars overall is an issue with the tongue and the gussets. Both are not wide enough and the edging on the tongue causes it to curl in. It is extremely difficult to get the gusset to fold into the shoe the way it should. It is too short and thick. With this problem and the curling tongue it is very hard to lace the shoes correctly and get everything positioned as it should be. As I mentioned, I have not tested the waterproof aspect of these boots, but I think the gusset is a weak point for water and debris. I love everything else about this boot, but this would stop me from buying them again. On all the reviews I read, I never saw any mentioning this issue, but it is a big deal for me. On long hikes the curling tongue could be a hot spot. Also, everyone says this shoe runs large and to order your regular size. My regular size is 10. Just to be safe, I ordered a 10.5. The shoes fit perfectly but there isn't a lot of space for swollen feet on long hikes. I would order an 11 the next time. It is difficult ordering hiking boots/shoes online. Zappos return policies make it much easier. I tried with another retailer, had to return 2 pairs and ended up spending almost $20 in return shipping fees. Never again. Stick with Zappos if they have what you are looking for.

I was really hoping to love these, but they bang into the top of my toes with each step. I had to send them back. I have the Stinsons which seem to accommodate my foot better with the wider toe box.
I'd also recommend:
I used to wear Keen and Salomon. Both are constructed better, but I need Hoka for cushioning.

I wanted to love these but they were at least one size too large. I already order 1/2 size smaller for my Hoka sneakers and thought that would be fine. I usually wear a nine women's and ordered an 8.5. A 7.5 probably would have fit because they were that large! Thanks to Hoka's return policy I was able to easily return them.

I really wanted to love these. I'd been daydreaming about them for months before my husband decided they were what I was getting for Christmas. I've had a lot of foot and ankle issues over the past few years, and after a lot of trial and error, I've come to the conclusion that I need a mid-range heel-to-toe drop and more cushioning than most shoes provide. I also wanted something waterproof/resistant and I appreciated the higher ankle as I feel they're easier to secure and more comfortable. I also have a pair of Hoka's Ora recovery slides, and I adore them. The first pair I got was way too big, which surprised me because I can't even remember the last time I had to buy smaller than a 10, no matter the style of shoe. I was also concerned about the pressure on the back of my leg. If you look at the pictures, you'll see that there's a band around the top of the shoe, and this band is tilted in toward the leg. Immediately I noticed this band digging into the back of my leg. Thinking that a smaller size might alleviate the problem, I called Zappos and got the ball rolling for an exchange. And here's where I'll applaud Zappos for their customer service, as the rep I spoke to was fantastic and the new, smaller pair showed up the next day, just a few hours after my husband dropped off the too-large pair to be sent back. The 9.5 fit much better around the foot. Unfortunately, the problem with the band digging into the back of my leg remained. I contemplated just trying to tough it out to break them in... I even saw one review where a woman said she was using tape to bend the band backwards in an attempt to "retrain" it. I considered it. But then I realized that I shouldn't have to do this with a shoe that costs $220. I also noticed that the outside of the toe box seemed a little clunky when I walked. I love a wide toe box, but I don't generally hear a clunking noise when I walk in a shoe that provides it. I don't really understand the people who complain that they don't have cushion. The sheer amount of material between the bottom of your foot and the ground is amazing and, like the Ora's, you have to wait for the shoe to warm up a bit to really mold to your foot. Try not to judge them from the moment you put your foot in, as they feel stiff when they're cold. And no, they're not going to feel like you're walking on pillows, but that kind of shoe isn't always the best for your feet. I wish these had worked out for me. If they ever fix the leg design, I'll consider trying them again. In the meantime, I might give the low version that's coming out in January a try.

I have have had the Bondi Leather and Bondi 6 and they were nlike walking on clouds. I love thoe those shoes. I am nurse work 12 hr shift and am on my feel allnight. When I read plush I thought they would be like the Bondi 6 and Bondi Leather. I loved the ankle support with the higher top, but they were not plush. The shoes comfort was hard and my feet hurt during and at the end of my shift. I also tried the the shoes out for 29 days thinking they needed broke in. I will keep buying Hokas but in the Bondi wides as they provide stabillity and comfort all night at work. I am a Diabetic shoe so Bondis are a good shoe for Diabetics.

These definitely run large. I’m a solid 9 1/2, sometimes a 10 in boots and the 9 was the right size. These are not hiking boots, they are hiking tennis shoes. There is just a little too much room on the inside for my foot to slide around in making my foot feel unsupported. On a positive note the cushion on the bottom is good and springy. If you plan on hiking on hills or uneven terrain, a boot would be a better choice.

I'm returning the boots. They were not as cushy and as comfy as I thought they'd be. I'm replacing a pair of Swiss boots that I've had and loved for years. I'll be trying a low cut Hoka version and see if that's better. I did like how they grabbed the trail. Excellent soles, just not the perfect hiking boot for me.

I was hoping these would be comparable to my tor ultra hi's but that doesn't seem to be the case. As a previous reviewer noted, there is a flaw with stitching by the ankle that can be painful should your foot roll outward, which occurs frequently while hiking amidst roots & rocks. I'll give them a few more tries but may have to revert to my old tor's. Definitely not the replacement I was hoping for.

I love hoka products. don't need broke in. the insoles are extremely comfortable and sturdy. I only gave it three stars because the leather stitching at the outer boot near the ankle bone bends and a sharp edge on the inside where the boot meets shoe gives me terrible blisters. I really miss the neutral tor ultra hi :(

Wide fit. I have a fat foot and these were pretty wide. I could have made them work with a very thick sock but they were not as soft as I thought they would be. I returned them

I love Hoka running shoes and have owned several different types. I was so excited to hear about the Women's Kaha gtx and couldn't wait to buy them. Boy am I disappointed! When I opened the box I was shocked!! They looked huge!!! I thought they must have mixed up the mens and womens sizing but when I looked at the tag they were correct. My husband actually could fit his size 11 foot in the shoe which amazed me. My usual sizing is a 9 but I always order a half size up in my running shoes for my races. I figured based on my current hiking boot I would do the same and order a half size larger. Even with a thick hiking sock, my foot slipped in the heel and felt lost in toe box. As far as comfort it was difficult to tell because of the fit. I returned them today and haven't decided if I'm going to reorder a smaller size. I'm giving them 2 stars because I read other reviews stating similar issues and maybe with a smaller size I would change my mind.

Traction is phenomenal, shoe itself is very comfortable. I got the high-tops for more ankle support, but the cording around the top folds in and is a lot tighter than the shoe itself; they dug hard into my Achilles on both ankles. 3-Day hiking trip in Moab last month, and by the end of the first day, I could barely walk and concerned that my tendons were injured. I was so disappointed because they're so good other than that one design flaw. Glad I brought my old hiking boots and tried these ones out before taking them back packing! Returned them as soon as I got home.

Please make this in tan in women's in wide or bring stock to 6.5 for men. I do not like these colors!!! Why are the men's styles nicer colors??? Bought in men's but too big for my feet. (7.5 men's) Width is perfect. I didn't walk in them, but just from stepping in and tying were super comfy. The ankle support would be perfect. I hike 6-20+ miles a week and planning some trips the end of this year and beginning of 2022.Please,please make in tan in sizes that will fit petite feet!!!

I have to agree with the associate at REI. I was in a store recently, idly looking at the only four (yes, four total!) women's hiking boots on display. Two pairs were different colors of the Hoka Speedgoat. The clerk said, sort of derisively, "Well, we have just two models of women's boots right now, and very few sizes in those." I looked at her quizzically. She picked up a Speedgoat, and said she didn't consider that a hiking boot; "to me, this is a sneaker with a high top." I thought she was being a bit harsh to the Hokas, especially since I was awaiting the arrival of the Hoka Kaha GTX boots. My order arrived the next day. After trying it on, I have to agree. Maybe the clerk and I are traditionalists, but the Kaha doesn't feel enough like a hiking boot to me. In addition, the sole feels too thick and high, concerning me about possible stability over rocks. I also ordered a half size too large, but that's on the Zappos fit selector. My Hoka Clifton running shoes, which I adore, are size 9, and the fit selector guided me to size 9 in the Kahas. Nope. Should have had an 8.5. Nevertheless, they'd be going back. It's just not my cup of...hiking boot.

I am training for a 77 mile thru hike and I was super excited to try these, especially as my other hiking boots were so heavy. My feet are very flat and I have custom orthotics to correct the issue. Over the course of just three 12 mile backpacking training hikes part of the shoe near my outer ankle would rub and jab my lower outer ankle, so much so that it has caused a lot of pain in that area from the constant rubbing. I noticed that there were at least two other reviews that mentioned this as well. This has happened on both of my feet. Really disappointed. I wanted to live them!

Fit well in the front of the foot but around the ankle was extremely uncomfortable and hit in a weird spot. Became progressively more painful with long walks. I am usually at 7 in HOKA sneakers, I ordered these in a 6.5 and the fit was otherwise good. Will have to return.
