For whatever reason companies seem to resist offering all black, non flashy shoes. These were the exact shoe I was looking for. Something discreet, comfortable, versatile, with excellent performance. These are totally wearable with a pair of jeans or even slacks, and then transfer seamlessly to getting into the mountains for a day out. Fantastic grip, and the shoe's durability is excellent. I've found the waterproofing to be exceptional with the obvious caveat that they are low top runners. The only note I have for the design team is to look into some other toe cap material which is less prone to showing scuff marks. When you make a shoe that looks this good, people are going to wear it on more than just trails.

It is a very high quality shoe for winter , trails and off roads hiking , I usually wear 10.5 normal width , I have a narrow athletic foot and I ordered 10.5 which came across to be too big , I exchange it with size 10 , it fits ok , I may need to wear it with thin socks till break in ,will see . So far I am happy with this shoes . Just be aware of sizing , runs big .

This is an amazing piece of equipment. Seriously, it seems like more than a shoe. At first I wasn’t sure - it’s a relatively chunky and thick sole attached to a lightweight upper. It’s a real vibram hiking boot on the bottom and a sneaker mixed with galoshes on top! The top is constructed like a sock - no seams - and lined with goretex. But as I wore it around the house it started to flex a bit more and feel really good. It did start to get a little warm - so that’s the downside of the waterproof goretex. I’ll keep em and update my review.

Other reviewer is correct. They run about 1/2 size large. I wear 8 1/2 ; size 8 is the proper fit. Stoked about these shoes. They are really well made. A little hot for the summer, but they are really high quality.

I bought those shoes a little more than a month ago. I used them in Thailand during a few days (very very soft trekking).
The top of the right shoe (the hard part) unguled itself from the nylon fabric after a few days. Due to this, the Gore-tex layer is not very useful since water can go in the shoe directly. I am an old Arcteryx customer and am very disappointed by the quality of those shoes. Apart from that, I find them very comfy and I love the sole. Just sad the quality can be trusted.

Fantastic shoe! Love these as my everyday shoe as I spend time in adverse situations. Lots of nice grip in the tread, nice clean style and overall very lightweight. Love these shoes and will definitely buy again.

Shoes were clearly worn and dirty when I received them from Zappos. I’ve ordered a new pair and hopefully they will be new.

The fit was right on, the materials and workmanship are very good quality. Comfortable fit, very little break in time, maybe twenty minutes. I use them for jogging and they provide plenty of support but are still not too heavy. I think they would do well for light hiking. The cost is justified by the quality in this case. I will buy another pair as needed.

Comfortable as is aright out of the box, lightweight, and durable so far. They look nice enough and have a lower profile so they work with jeans or casual pants, too. These are probably true to size, but do leave room for warm socks or insoles.

I've owned the blue (Timelapse) version of this shoe for over two years now so I can give an honest review. Looked and felt great straight out of the box. They have been worn virtually every day and are still my go to shoe, be it for trail walking, out and about or down the pub. The second time worn was to climb Mt Snowdon in Wales, no issues. Easy to put on and take off. Lots of comments on how good they look etc. I cannot fault them. I will be buying another pair in a few weeks, May try the boots this time. Superb!

Bought one pair based on how well they fit me. Walk 2-6km a day with the dog in these over pavement, gravel, dirt, grass and rocks. I find them stable as can be hoped for in a sneaker height shoe. They have lasted very well for me. Ordered another pair as the first pair was getting worn down and worn out.
Note they are a bit warm on hot summer days. I find them waterproof for dew on grass and stepping in a puddle or across a river but hey, they are only 3" high to the top.
Only comments for improvements would be the laces are strange. Come untied the first couple of times and then stay good after that. But their laces...

I've spent the past 3 months in these shoes, practically living in them, and they show no signs of slowing down. I wear them to work, to concerts, on muddy trail runs, steep uphill training days with 50lbs on my back, alpine scramble approaches, and snowy trails.
Just like any Gore-tex lined shoe, if you get mud or water inside, it stays inside until you get home and wash/dry them. For my use case of alpine approaches, city runs, snowy and muddy trail runs (with and without training weight), they are absolutely perfect. For being so lightweight, they are surprisingly durable with a good amount of protective coverage all around the shoe for when you are running on ground with a lot of rocks and tree roots. It also has really nice toe protection with a thick, rubber toe rand for that unexpected snag.
These shoes just do it all. They were made for the slop and the mud and eat it up on the trail. As long as you aren't ankle deep in mud and water, they are great for long days on the trail in any condition. In light rain, they are impenetrable, as long as your cuff isn't exposed. The low-profile cuff stays put under your loose pant leg or mini-gaiter.
I honestly didn't expect to fall in love with these shoes, but they now have a permeant spot at the front of my shoe rack.

These are my go too hiking shoes. They are lightweight, easy to move around, great grip and Gore-tex. Perfect for spring hiking when the more run off on the trails your still moving thorough patches of snow.

I work as a mail carrier for Canada Post and have had 2 pairs of these shoes and currently have a other pair in the shopping cart.
I walk about 20km/day and can do upwards of 120 sets of steps a day. Rain or shine and occasionally ice and snow.
Both pairs have treated me perfectly. The toes kick is a nice feature especially on the stairs. As for slippage these are as good as any winter boot I've warn.
As for the waterproof and smell as mentioned by another commenter. I've never expected them to be water proof. They do well walking through small puddles and light rain but if it's pouring your feet will get wet. As for smell I dry my shoes out well each time they get wet. I expect them to have odour being I sweat and they got wet but if they're dried out properly I've not had any issues.
In the end I tried over 20 pairs of different shoes before I found these. I just wish I could stockpile more before they get discontinued

I've used this shoe as for daily urban use for a few months, and it hasn't let me down. The are very comfortable, totally waterproof and the soles have performed well in very well on we rotting leaf covered road conditions. The only problem is that they don't have no-slip laces and a single tie comes undone, therefore one must do a double tie ever time. However that wouldn't stop me from purchasing another pair.

I wore these on a day hike of Mt. Katahdin in Maine. They performed flawlessly along the full loop of the ridgeline, which included varied terrain from steep and exposed rock through forested and muddy trails. Light yet very comfortable and highly dependable. Thoroughly recommended.

I am on my second pair of the Aerios FL GTX. I really like them and they have become my daily wear. They are very lightweight but still offer pretty good stability and support. I wear them for walking the dogs in the rain, through muddy conditions, wet grass, etc. They are pretty water proof, but my current pair has started letting a wee bit of water in but after a year or so of use. The shoe laces are too long and come apart easily.

I've only had these a short time. They are amazing functional shoes and look great too. I did find they run quite small. I'm a regular 9 and they are a little snug. It may be due to the Gore-Tex lining. I would highly recommend!

Wore these for a solo trekking trip, and shoes are comfortable enough to wear all day long.
I like them being light enough compared to trekking boots, but keeping your feet dry.
Even stepping in snow or mud shoe dries quickly and you cant even tell.
And shoe grip is far better than one would think, even on wet rocks shoe does not slide at all.

super comfortable and felt great on my first hike. i've only had good experience with arcteryx over the years so i'm going to assume the same with these in the long term. i'm a 10.5 in most shoes, and these were spot on with a 10.5 as well, so i would say order your normal size.
