These shoes fit beautifully; just as well as my last pair of Merrells. Maybe better because there is slightly more toe room. And the fabric is lightweight. I walked all day in these and had no urge to take them off when home again. Trust the fit and the style. Love the look.

Love these shoes! I have wide feet, but the toe box is large enough and the laces able to be loosened enough to fit my feet comfortably. Without socks, these shoes are breathable for walking outside in Florida's heat and humidity! With or without socks, I find them comfortable to walk in for several hours. They're cute and don't look clunky like some other shoes I've tried. :)

I bought these shoes just before a 3-day weekend climbing in Joshua Tree. They were perfect. It was over 100 degrees, and these shoes were so airy and lightweight that my feet stayed cool. They're also flexible with excellent grip. Super comfortable.

Purchased these shoes specifically for a trip to Belize. I live in a studio, and can't have extra pairs of shoes lying around. But these are awesome! Once trying them on, I was so pleased. But would they stand up to the test? Yes. They eliminated the need to bring athletic (or any) shoes, "just in case." I wore to the airport with thin socks because my origination was cooler, and nobody wants to get caught barefoot at the airport. Shoes are easy on/off. Laces can be left loose (think swollen airplane feet), and so quick easy to evenly sinch as tight as you please. Design is awesome, sinched shoes will hug your feet as much as you want but not strangle at one little section. They don't feel bulky- they end up being an extension of your bod, something which Merrell's got figured out. With these shoes so far, I've gone hiking (including very steep incline), walked through and swam down rivers (some small, sharp rocks involved and none bothered me), and spelunked (intermediate skill). I plan to use these on my standup paddleboard since I realize my feet get tired from no arch support while doing hours of standing, and they are advertised as non-marking. Also plan to use on the pokey typical Pacific Northwest rocky and barnacle-filled beaches, on river floats, and when launching a boat requires me to hop in the water. Such cool amphibious shoes! If non-slip grip on mossy or slick surfaces is your #1 concern, look for something else. Totally fit the bill for my needs, but I did keep in mind while adventuring that this is not a feature these shoes boast. I did trek on some submerged, smooth, mossy rocks in a waterfall, and opted to go low and slow. I felt some grip for sure, but they didn't make me superwoman. Or spiderwoman? Was concerned about durable materials rubbing on my skin. Before wearing, I had soft, sad Winter feet. No problem. No chafing or blisters with dry or wet wear, even accounting for many steps through several airports and 24hours of traveling. I was also looking for shoes that weren't TOO gross and granola-looking (obv this is subjective). (When I started my search, I'd resigned that I'd end up with my parents' Keens). I was happy with the look of these shoes, but wish there were awesome color options. Colors are fine, just not fresh. They look like really sporty tennies or hiker style runners. SO light, which helped with swimming too. After a mucky trek and swim, forgot a plastic bag and neglected to rinse w fresh water, so I tied them onto my pack- again, so nice and light! No issues with intractable stank. Two thumbs up. If you need the shoes, buy the shoes.

These are utterly fantastic right out of the box. Much more comfy than the Merrell All Out Blaze Aero Sport, which I had to return because of the hard plastic and inside seams. These things are soft like socks, super breathable, and with great traction, but are firmly attached with solid lacing and have some nice toe guards so I think they'll be good for hiking. So far great for walking, very lightweight with good ground-feel, but enough padding that concrete is not annoying.

I love the design, low-profile cut and out-of-the-box comfort of these shoes. I usually wear a 9 or 9.5 in training or running shoes, have a slight bunion and a narrow heel and I took a 9 in these. The fit was perfect right of the box - and I was able to insert an orthotic comfortably. No break in required. Now on to the negative --I've worn them on two hikes and for both they were an epic fail. Definitely not waterproof, nor quick to dry after stepping in mud -- you'll be swamp-footing the rest of your hike. Don't even try wearing these on a sandy trail! The sand seeps in through the mesh and collects inside, making the shoes heavy and unwearable. I took them off entirely on a dune trail as walking barefoot was preferable. Sadly, I'm back shopping for a more well-rounded hiking shoe. But if you don't want to wear them to hike, I recommend!

They fit great. Since I have wide feet and these are regular width and they fit me, I would say they run wide for the average person. HOWEVER, these ARE NOT waterproof as the description says. I was looking for waterproof hiking shoes and these are mesh and good for being in the water like river shoes. I am really unhappy with the description of the product and should be changed.

I love Merrell. Used to wear their Riverbeds but they discontinued them ??. But I found these and they fit and feel great! This is actually my second pair of these because the colors are all so cool that I have a hard time deciding. I'm flat footed and work on my feet all day. Bad shoes put me in a soaker tub! Haven't had to soak since I got these. Plus, Zappos is the best!

Sadly, I returned these shoes. They were comfortable and cute but not waterproof. They are "water friendly" which is clearly the opposite. Merrell really needs to change the terminology. I wanted a shoe that was thoroughly water "unfriendly". I'm looking elsewhere.

Really lightweight shoe. The mesh on top of the toe area lets in a lot of air. My toes get a little chilly for the spring but these will be great for summer when it is warmer. Very comfortable, wore them all day long right out of the box, feet felt great.

I was a bit surprised that the mesh is so open. There’s no lining inside and you can see right through them. They would be good on a hot summer day but not much use hiking in the mountains. I have a size 9 in my heavier waterproof hiking shoes from Merrill. In this model I ordered an 8 1/2 and they are slightly large.

I am always on the lookout for mesh sneaks that can be worn without socks. I had high hopes for these, but had to return them because the upper material (at the base of the laces/tongue) jabs down onto my toes when walking, and has some rough exposed edges inside there to boot, so the rubbing is quite bad. Merrell shoes generally fit me very well (long/narrow feet and sensitive toes that need wiggle room) and these were the same, overall. The structure of them over the toes was a major deal breaker, though. The downward pressure in that spot with each step is painful even with socks.

These are advertised as waterproof. They absolutely aren't There are multiple holes that go through the entire shoe. When I hold a damp figer up to a hole, the wetness is felt on the inside. Otherwise, a decent shoe.

Bought these for a trip to Yosemite because I knew I'd probably be hiking through water & they were awesome. It was super hot when I was there and these were perfect for splashing around & swimming in the Merced River. I also used them to hike up Sentinel Dome. They were great both in and out of the water. Didn't keep me from slipping on the algae-covered rocks (not sure if anything really can), but these were otherwise perfect & dried out rather quickly in the sun. I wore them without socks in the water and with socks on dry hikes and they are comfortable either way. So far, they are holding up very well. Black is my preference for color, but those were sold out. I do like the gray/blue ones that I wound up purchasing & think they look good. I wear a 6.5 & these fit perfectly.

This is the perfect canoeing/kayaking camping shoe. The mesh keeps out the rocks, the soles are excellent for walking on slippery rocks, and comfortable while hiking on land. I scrambled up a canyon and the shoes were great. I wore them for six days straight- best pair of water shoes I have ever had.

These shoes are really comfortable while having good support. The toe box is a little wider than other athletic shoes I have but the instep and heel are perfect. I wear a true 10.5 US size and was pleased to find Merrill’s in this size. I would buy them again.

Comfortable right out of the box. My second pair of this style. They have a surprising amount of support, considering the top is mesh . They also have great traction. Taking these on a trip to Europe as they are light weight and can pack them without being concerned about weight.

So comfy, no break in needed. had to replace my first pair that I had for several years. These are a little different but just as awesome. I wear them walking trails and as my water shoes.

these are amazingly light weight and so comfortable. The lacing system makes it easy to get a good secure fit. I love them so much that I bought a second pair to have when these wear out.

I tried a 1/2 size smaller based on prior reviews. I normally wear a 9, and found that my slightly bigger foot did not like it, ordered a 9 and it’s perfect. I love the colors, feels very lightweight on the foot, and does well with my Power Step inserts when I removed the original insert. I am a moderate-amount walker in my late 60’s. Would say the only negative is the amount of cushion under the toe box. But for my needs it works just fine. I recommend this style.

I got these specifically for hiking in Arizona. These shoes are amazing and so comfortable that I don't even need socks. They can get wet and dry out fast. I can't wait to use them back home in the Adirondacks.
