Loved these shoes. Ordered them and a pair of Merrell MQM Aces at the same time. The Maipos are really the most comfortable. The only reason i didn't keep them was for my upcoming adventure, I needed a beefier shoe. So I kept the MQMs. When my current trip is finished, I hope to find a reason to order the Maipos. Actually, I'm sure i will ;)

So far I've put only about 30 miles on these shoes. However, it was almost entirely over rough terrain. They have excellent grip. Though flexible, the soles are heavy enough to prevent discomfort from stepping on rocks, etc. They dry quickly, which was a must for me. I haven't worn them long enough to comment on durability, but they show no wear thus far.

I have always worn a size 8 med but seems a 7.5 is perfect with still room. No break in period very comfortable. Secure fit is the best no heel slip.

I work at a zoo and we just came off of Spring Break. I worked 13 straight days of running 12+ hours and my feet felt great!!! I have a bone spur and a bunion, so these poor shoes were tried by fire and survived the storm. 5 stars, 2 thumbs way up, highly recommend. They are light-weight, supportive and very comfortable. Give them a try!!!

The knit fabric is very thin, would be great for walking in streams. Not much overall support. This is not a sneaker.

I purchased these shoes for a 45 mile summer hike. I needed a shoe that would keep me cool like a sandal but protect me like a boot. These were it! Required ZERO breaking in before hand! Fit 100% true to size. The mesh allows the shoe to move and shift with your feet for zero rubbing and keeps you cool at the same time. They dry extremely fast as well, good grip and let's not forget they are super attractive as well! The only reason I give them 4 instead of 5 stars is that I had to trek through some very fine sand and obviously as expected of any shoe they filled with sand especially because of the mesh. The complaint is that when I dumped them out I had to remove the insoles to get all the sand out as it went through the tiny holes in the insoles as well. No big deal just a little extra work to clean out sand. I plan to buy another pair of these shoes as soon as I can!

Very pleased with these Merrells. They are lightweight. Great sole which is the reason I wear them over tenny shoes. Receiving compliments on this style.

Third time was the charm as I ordered a different model of Merrell's first but wasn't exactly the right fit.
I read reviews stating this model is larger so I ordered a 1/2 size smaller but too big so I jumped online and ordered another size smaller and they fit perfectly!! I can't wait to wear them on our adventure trip. Now just need to return the other 2 pairs.

I got these to wear when playing at/in the lake with my dog, and they are awesome: comfortable, way more support that regular water shoes, good traction, keep the pebbles out, dry quickly. The insole comes out easily for faster drying and sand removal. And (thanks to doggo chasing a duck instead of her toy and following the quacker out to sea), I can attest that they are easy to swim in if you need to rescue your rescue pup--or anything else. Normally, I wear an 8, but I had to exchange these for a 7.5 because (for me, anyway) they were too long in the toe. Remember, you'll be wearing them without socks.
One thing that could be upgraded for future iterations is to add some sort of soft/slippery inside liner on the top. These shoes will WRECK a pedicure in no time. I think it's because the nails are rubbing up against the mesh of the shoe and even against some of the seams. It's not at all uncomfortable, it's just annoying to take them off and discover chips and cracks in your polish. So Merrell, indulge my vanity and fix this issue!

This shoe is comfortable and great for an active lifestyle. I wear these shoes for walking and everyday activities. I am a health and PE teacher and on my feet all day and these are comfortable all day.
These shoes do run large. I have two other styles of Merrell shoes that are both a women's 9. I had to return the 9 in the waterproof Maipo 2 and get an 8.5

I have never had to return a pair of shoes for a smaller size until these. These Merrells run a full size larger than my old Columbia shoes.

Pro: The shoe is beautiful - truly stylish and nice choice of colors. It is also sturdy and well-made.
Con: although it does have a removable insole, there is no way your orthotic will work in them. This is because the built in arch support is quite dramatic, and it will throw off your orthotic fit.
What a shame - I REALLY love them!

These shoes are so comfortable I was able to wear them out of the box without breaking them in. First time in years I could do this. I did remove the footbeds and put my own orthotic insoles in as I do in all my shoes. Thank you Merrell for removable footbeds.
I ordered these in black and in Navy,/smoke. I am sending back the Navy pair. They are dark Navy / light Navy instead of Navy / Grey. I'd love to see some earthy colors like tan / Olive or charcoal over/light gray.

After reading reviews, I was disappointed this shoe wasn’t waterproof but decided to give it a shot anyway. Since it fit so well, I ended up keeping them and so glad I did! It was great for a few moderate hikes on a recent vacation, including 4 hours in rainy, muddy conditions.

The moment I took these shoes out of the box and tried them one, my feet were very happy. They have a snug fit without any chafing. The sole is light yet sturdy. Robust enough to walk on rocks, and snug enough to not allow the foot to slip around. You don't necessarily notice the mesh so you can wear them as regular sport shoes.
I really like these. Highly recommend, pending durability.

I love this shoes. I would have given it all five stars. But, it has a hole now. I have used it for less than 4 months. I do not run. I do not lead an active lifestyle, but, the shoes has a hole now. I would say the material doesn't last that long for a normal wear.
The comfort is great especially during the summer months. It ventilates very well.
The size is true to the size.

They are huge. I love the style but they are really big. I'm an 8.5 but I probably could have gone with a 7.5. I'm patrolling on slick concrete and surprisingly I almost slipped a few times recently. I have hiking boots and shoes and always recommend Merrill to people but I've got mixed feelings about this one.

I am a long distance hiker who has worn Merrells exclusively for the past 15+ years (diehard fan of the Siren until they decided to morph it). I have tried several others, looking for a new Merrell that works. Tried this in my normal, solid 8.5. My toes were poking through the mesh, completely missing the rubber toe cap. More than an inch of extra space, this shoe could have quite possibly stood in for a 9.5. It looked like a really good shoe, but I really can't tell you if it was because I sent it back it was so large.

Anxiously anticipated but disappointed. True fit. Great gripping on wet rocks and dry pine needles and good on small hills. Miserable support at midsole; felt like I was flat footed. Would not use for portage or even small trek in woods to get to lake or river for a swim. These are not my first pair of water shoes. I will return them.

Super cute, comfortable, rugged but definitely not water proof...these are water shoes, not waterproof. Very disappointed as we were looking for hiking shoes to protect us from rain, these would be fantastic for a hiking/canoe trip...I'm sad because my 15 year old finally found some shoes she could see herself hiking in...and they have to go back.
