I used these for a hike that had many water crossings and a segment that followed a river. I have wide feet and didn’t feel cramped, which was great. Arch support was good. The fit was fine with one important exception- these “water” shoes let sand and gravel into the shoe around the ankle, which flexes wide open when you walk. I would’ve been better off with an old running shoe. My heel and soles are rubbed raw from all the grit that was let into the shoe. Not through the mesh, which does a fine job. It’s the weird opening of the ankle that lets it all in. Not a fan of these. Did the same in silty/muddy creeks. Let boat loads of sediment into the shoe. Probably best suited for mild boating excursions. Just don’t step into sediment. Hard bottom only.

These are perfect for the River and beach...slipped them on right away and my spouse could not stop raving about how comfortable they are...not as wide as everyone previous review. Well worth it for a pair of summer fun shoes...

My husband loves these shoes, lightweight, breathable, but supportive enough to wear around our boat!

Shoe fits well and is good for a wider foot. the webbing material stretches with movement and breathes well. they are light weight and keep your feet cool. Great for summer time around the house. The webbing will allow sand to get into the shoe. I use them for working in the yard because i wanted a lightweight and cool shoe. Almost like having an air conditioner on your feet when the wind blows. Can work in them all day, very comfortable and supportive.

Very tip and not a wide toe box as a reviewer has stated earlier. Way to tight and sending them beck. They are cool shoes...perfect for the beach and/or lake. I’m bummed but life goes on...

Great hiking & water show in one. Went from hiking volcanos to the beach and never changed shoes.

My favorite shoe of all time. It hits the perfect spot between minimalist hiker and water shoe with enough support for light backpacking. Quick drying and super comfortable.

I'm 6'4" @ 225lbs. I've put over 700 miles on these. They started falling apart at the one year mark. But again, I put them through the ringer on trails that are about 50% jagged rock. The soles stayed in tact despite the type of terrain I use these on. Definitely a 3 season shoe. Wore them on winter on dry days with thick socks. See photos where the toe cup started disbanding with the upper and where the eyelet for the shoe string just disintegrated. The shoe string eyelet was the single point of failure and I finally had to throw them away. I think I could have gotten another 20 miles out of these had the eyelet not failed catastrophically. Merrell, please fix the eyelet issue and continue to make this shoe.

I participated in a Swim/Run competition where I ran 5 segments and swam 4 segments intermittently with these wonderful shoes and my wetsuit on the entire duration. The Choprock drained well and had great stability at the heal for the arduous trail running. I made a wise decision to utilize these shoes over the numerous other water/trail run shoes on the market as they were firm, light-weight, and cushioned.

Picked up for hiking through Shenandoah (SNF) along the AT. The shoe worked out great, it rained nearly every day but had no issues with comfort. I used light endurance running socks, but towards the end of the hikes I just went without a liner. I didnt get blisters as I expected, they breathe great, dried quickly (played in a few streams), and have good grip.

These are the perfect shoe for any hike that may involve water or canoeing/kayaking. Drains water perfectly and dries very quickly. Great toe coverage for rugged hiking and good ankle support still. Had to go a whole size down for the right fit if wearing socks, probably a size and a half If wearing witho

traction was not as great as it looked like it would be with the grooves in sole. Fit is perfect.

I live in NC and most of the trails here have water crossings, these shoes are awesome, they have great grip in and out the water, they dry really fast and are comfortable. I can only speak good things about these shoes.
No more carrying weight on extra water shoes nor stopping at every creek to change shoes.

I purchased this shoe for use when taking out the dinghy and visiting small islands, sand bars and beaches. They keep the sand out very well and a quick fresh water rinse, dry and put them away. Convenient, good design.

This is the most amazing shoe. Used it to hike in Cascade Falls in Tahoe and Cathedral Rock and Devil's Bridge in Sedona. It came in handy when we enjoyed Slide Rock State Park as we swam In the water holes and enjoyed the river. Several times I said aloud, "I love this shoe." It's absolutely comfortable and has excellent grip. My husband also the same pair and he completely agrees.

I'm a new owner of these shoes and have only worn them twice so far, but excellent so far. They fit well and are comfortable right out of the box. I use them anytime I'm around the water kayaking, fishing, or swimming in rocky environments.

I love Merrel's shoes, as a matter of a fact I bought a second pair of men's choprock, different color. I love how they fit like a glove and keep my feet dry. I now own 8 pairs of different Merrell's shoes. You will not be disappointed.

It felt like a glove when I first put them on. They are light weight and flexible. I hiked 16 miles and they felt great when wearing socks. Going through a river I took the socks off and continued with socks off and they felt good the rest of my hike. They dried quickly especially for hiking shoes
