Had these for 2 months and have used them for daily walks - clocking up 60 miles a week in that time. The good things first - lightweight, look great, comfortable, excellent grip (as always across Salomon range in my experience), waterproof and easy to clean. All very positive however I have quickly found them difficult to get the laces tight across the entire foot - with the lace slipping as you try to tighten and only the final 2 eyelets giving any grip/security to the foot - not sure this is due to the materials being used or the eyelets but unless I put some effort into tightening the laces for the full length of the boot they can feel lose on my foot - not a major issue I suppose but have been walking in Salomon for last 10 years never really had the issue before. The more worrying issue however is the seam already starting to fail on the rubber toe protector - this happened after a month of walking and whilst as yet has not got significantly worse it is only a matter of time before they start to fail (see photo). This has happened before on my last pair of Ultra Wide GTX but it took 2 summers of walking to occur not 2 months. Will see how they last but am already browsing for new boots.

I have taken these everywhere. Peru (Incan Trail), Ireland, Scotland, almost every national park in the US. I absolutely love them incredible grip in rain and snow. As well as great traction in the sand and on top of sandy rocks. I have never had a problem with rub like the other users but I am also using hiking socks with them at all times..... I highly recommend for quick hikes or week long hikes. I have yet to test them for a month long hike yet but they are so light I plan on doing that very very soon.

I've been wearing these on Search and Rescue calls for the past 2 months and they have been great. Lightweight, breathable, great traction and durable. Half of my hiking is off trail in the bush on uneven terrain and I've had no issues with the boots so far. I also have the Quest 4d 3 gtx, which are nice and sturdy, but weigh more and not as breathable. It will be a good winter boot, but my go to boot for now is the outback 500 gtx.

I have had these for several months now and they are great. I live in the midwest where weather is a mixed bag in the winter. These have performed great on the trail in all conditions

I bought these shoes last summer for a backpacking trip to RMNP, GSMNP, and local trail hiking. Have the green and love them. Lightweight and breath well. Shocked with a few of these bad reviews. Honestly think they must be people who live in a bubble and complain about everything. No way these shoes fail three months into wearing them. Have about 500 miles on them and still going strong.

This is my second pair. I have them broke in and ready to go. I'm still wearing my first pair. They are lasting longer than any other boot I've worn. Approximately 800 miles and still in good shape.

I bought the boots in February 2019. I wear them four days a week at work. They feel great and are light weight, as well as waterproof. No complaints.

J'ai achet rcemment ces chaussures pour la randonne en gnral et l'usage des raquettes neige. J'ai pu apprcier l'excellente tenue de la cheville, la lgret des chaussures et leur confort. Cependant, je n'ai pas assez de recul pour une apprciation complte : tanchit, respirabilit en particulier.

Kein Druckstelle, nichts kaputt gegangen. Alles Top!

Trotzdem hatte ich zunchst bedenken, da der schuh so leicht und ohne Leder ist. Nach mittlerweile 3 Mehrtagestouren im Allgu bin ich allerdings vollends berzeugt. Kein Druckstelle, nichts kaputt gegangen. Alles Top!

Covered over 50 miles with pack in tough terrain, much off trail. Great shoe!

These boots are amazing. Easy to adjust laces and great feel.

Lace locker works great. Best I've ever seen great hiking and inner cushion works well on rocks

This is my first pair of Salomon hiking shoes and I must say they that so far they are great! Seem to be durable and well built. Extremely comfortable for all day excursions. Water proof. ( I hiked in the snow with them). Great ankle support. Highly recommended!

In the last month, I've used the OUTback 500 GTX boots for a variety of walks and I'm very happy with them. They are very lightweight but still feel supportive, the outsole gives good grip and they cope well with anything from grassy trails to steeper hill walking.

Comfortable light weight boot, I do a lot of running with my boots and this has been perfect for me,
