I work in an industrial setting and wear steel toes for 10 hour stretches. I've always been a fan of Docs, and I had a pair of steel toed DMs over 20 years ago. So when it was time for a new pair I saw this gorgeous pair and knew I had to have them! As other reviews have mentioned, these run really big. I wear a 9 in regular Docs, and these steel toed boots seem almost full size larger. That said I still got the size 9 because I have pretty wide feet; I also tried on size 8 and felt that they were just a hair too short. The 9s are about half a size too big, but I'd rather have them too big than half a size too small. I added thick insoles to take up some of the extra space, and when the winter sets in I'll wear thicker socks as well. So if you wear a regular/medium width then order down a size. The side zip is really great. It's nice to set the laces to the right tension, then slip the boots off and on quickly with the zipper access. And they're so pretty! The brown leather has aged nicely. I give them a swipe of mink oil once a week because they get soaked in hot water and alcohol on a daily basis. I also changed the laces to bright red, which look pretty fantastic.

I had some confusion about the sizing before finally settling on the US size 6. I'm normally a US size 6.5, so I tried to order a 7. WAY too big. I tried a size 5, just to satisfy my curiosity. It felt a little tight, but I thought, "oh, the leather will stretch and mold to my feet!" but after a while, my toes became numb. NOPE. Also, keep in mind: yes, the leather will mold to your feet, but the steel toe-box won't. That part of the boot obviously won't stretch with you. But now that I have the right size...I LOVE these. I'm definitely that lazy person who hates doing up the laces of their boots every day, so the zipper is a huge plus. I love the matte finish of the leather, too.

The size and fit is perfect. I have flat feet and their perfect. I stand on my feet for work 10 hours plus sometimes. And I would definitely recommend to anyone! I’ll def be getting another pair in another color soon! They even look good on a day out in jeans!

These run a full size larger. I always wear a 10 & my foot was sliding around in the 10. Once I exchanged for the smaller size I loved them! They have a cushy foot bed and the leather is supple & I love the color. They do scuff easily but so far I’ve been able to rub out the scuffs fairly well. I also like the zip side so you don’t have to lace each time.

Do NOT size down!! I read a a lot of reviews and chose to size down as most of them suggested. I have average feet normal width. So I thought sizing down would be appropriate. When the boots arrived they were tight as can be. Definitely true to size and I recommend you should order your normal size.

I think the leather and overall design looks better in person than in the photos! I am really impressed with the craftsmanship as every part looks and feels well-made and high quality. I also love this style as it can be worn with casual outfits without looking bulky and obviously made for heavy duty use. The outside also feels sturdy yet it feels comfortable from the inside because of the foam in the inner sole padding. As for the fit, I am glad I read the all reviews here. I am usually a size 7.5(US), but many were saying it runs large, so I ordered 7(US), and they fit me such that there is just enough room left for thick socks, so I suggest definitely ordering a half-size down, but not any smaller. Because they only sell whole-number sizes, if your size has .5, order a half-size down. If your size is a whole number, stick with that size. It’s better to get the shoes larger than smaller anyway since we can always put extra insoles or wear thicker socks.

Bought these for my daughter who works at a horse barn. She wore them yesterday and came home with a blister on her left heel and cramped toes on her right foot. That makes it very difficult to give an accurate description of the size because apparently one is too big and the other is too small. We have bought many different work boots over the years, and this is the first pair we have had this type of a problem with. Continuing the search for boots that fit properly and will not fall apart within a year.

Took quite a few days to break them in. Happy with them now, almost a year later.

i wear an 8 1/2 and bought a size 9. i wore two pair of socks and they were fine but i called customer service and they allowed me to easily return and get an 8 so they just got here and with both pairs its crazy how much bigger the 9 looks. The 8 fits perfect regular socks on. i did buy the green insoles for the size 9 and they fit the 8 too. theyre so comfy! they are docs they did take me 2 days to break in the top where the boot ends and my leg starts. i expect the same so long thicker socks until broken in and i bought the balsam which helps the leather to stay nice and break in easier. I work at Amazon on cement floors from 10.5 hours to 11.5 depending on need. and these boots even when i bought the huge size made my legs and feet feel so much better not sore any longer. So if you are inbetween sizes buy down..

i wear an 8.5 i bought a 9 and i have to wear two pairs of thick socks with them and tie them tight. which would be fine except my feet get sweaty. . I do recommend wearing a long sock the first few days so were the boot ends you do not get red marks . i am sending them back for an 8 but if i couldn't id be -perfectly happy with these. they are heavy because theyre steel toe but i got used to that. and these will last a good 10 years like my last pair .. ****The Wonder Balsam i purchased makes the leather soft and scuff free.*****

I am usually in a size 7 work boot because my feet are wide. Ordered these in a 6 and they fit perfectly.

Fits perfectly and are super comfortable on the first wear, breaking them in was super easy.

Comfy and super cute

A tiny bit small in width. Easily fixed that by covering boots with oil and wearing them, within an hour or so it was comfortable!

I wear a size 8 but after reading the reviews went down a full size. Perfect fit.

I have always loved dr martens and these are exactly the quality I expected. The color is a bit more brown and less red than the picture, but still really nice looking. I really like the insoles that this particular boot has, which is different from standard docs. They are extremely comfortable and I didn’t really even have to break them in. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

I was dreading having to buy safety shoes for work, but these are so cute and aren’t bulky at all. I’m normally a 7 1/2 and went with an 8 and they fit perfect.

My very first Dr Martens boots. Had bought them for work since they are steel toe. The leather is supple and very soft. They did not need any breaking in at all. I wear a size 10 and they fit perfectly. A little heavy but that’s to be expected, considering they are steel toe. The side zipper makes the easy to put on and off. Would recommend them to everyone who will listen.

Got it for my wife. She said it fit perfectly from the beginning. Thought it would be bulky like the previous steel toe workboot but this one doesn't event look like a work boot. Really pretty color and style and the zip is awesome for easy on and off. Lucky to have gotten the last pair. Really exceeded my expectations.

I love my safety shoes by Doc Martens- super comfy with a nice insole. Sizing tips: I usually get US7.5 or US8 size. For this pair I got US5 and it is perfect.
