I need a wide toe box with a narrow heel. Most tennis shoes slip on my heal. For years ASICS GEL-Kayano's were my choice exercise shoe. But then they changed to a narrower toe box. I had to choose a different shoe. I am thrilled to say that the GEL-Kayano 25's have the feel of the shoes I loved. They are comfortable in the toe box like the old style. They are cushy. They have great arch support. My heal doesn't slip and I love the color I chose. Definitely a win win on this one. Thank you Zappos for your great choices, fast delivery, and easy returns. I rarely shop elsewhere.

Asics has redeemed themselves with the Gel-Kayano 25!!! I have worn nothing but the Kayano from Asics for over 10 years. I require a stability running shoe that offers enhanced cushioning and arch support. The last pair of Kayanos I purchased were the 22s because Asics really botched the design in the 23 and 24. Both of those shoe designs were too narrow and short and the shoes were very uncomfortable to wear. I was disappointed in Asics, and reluctantly turned to another brand of running shoe, but I really did miss wearing my beloved Kayanos. Recently I noticed that Asics had released another design, the Gel-Kayano 25, and the initial reviews were promising so I decided to order a pair on Zappos. I didn't get my hopes up, and when they arrived and I nervously tried them. My first thought was "They're back!!!" These Kayano 25s are so comfortable, and true to size and width! I always buy a half size larger in running shoes, and I always buy D width for my wide foot, and these Kayanos had plenty of room in the length and width of the shoe. The cushioning and arch support in the Kayano 25 is excellent, really the best I've experienced in any Kayano design so far. My only complaint about this shoe, and it's a very small one, is that Asics tends to only offer one color in wide widths, and it's usually a fairly plain color. Asics, please introduce more color options for those wearing wide width Kayanos. Overall, the Gel-Kayano 25 is a superb running shoe and Kayano loyalists like myself should be very pleased with this new design. Thank you Asics for listening to your customers and bringing back the Kayano that we all know and love!!!

I have worn Kayanos for years, for the wide toe box, narrow heel, and excellent support. These have the first two, as Kayanos traditionally do (we will not speak of the disastrous Kayano 23 and 24 models). But the support has somehow disappeared. Maybe it's the knitted upper, so there aren't the decorative/support straps to reinforce the arch support? Whatever the reason, the arch and anti-pronation stabilization seem pretty imperceptible in this model. My rather high arches just collapse, which they never used to do. These have been fine for dog walking on city sidewalks, but I really can't run or do anything more demanding in them.

These are the best narrow fit athletic shoes! I have an extremely difficult time finding shoes that fit my narrow, flat feet. These are fantastic; lightweight and very comfortable. The heel is snug so there is no slipping and the mid-foot and toe box area is narrow enough that the shoe doesn't wobble around my foot. Bonus, I can tie them and the lace eyelets aren't squeezed together. :)

The toe box is very roomy in this particular style which is great for me. I felt it ran totally true to size & did not have to go up 1/2 size as I usually do in a running shoe. They feel totally different than the Nimbus & seem to have more support.

First, here are my criteria for buying a walking/ running shoe. I wear a women's size 11, medium-width. I over-pronate, have very flat feet, and tend toward getting plantar fasciitis. I need a comfortable (though not extra-wide) toe box. I put a lot of miles on my shoes on both sidewalks and forest trails, so I need a good cushioned sole. I don't worry much about the insoles / arch support because I use green Superfeet in all my shoes (which are better for my feet than any of the insoles that come with running shoes). Oh, and one more thing: I try to find dark, subdued colors in a shoe. My feet are big to begin with, and not only do I dislike most of those weird bright colors that women's shoes especially come in, but the last thing I need is to draw more attention to my big shoes. SO, THAT SAID: these GEL-Kayano 25s in women's 11 hit the spot! I had ordered and returned more than a dozen models of Asics and New Balance shoes before I finally found these. They are well cushioned, the toe box is just the right size, my foot does not pull out from the heel cup even a little (a problem with most of the other shoes I tried, for some reason), they are not too tight across the top of my foot, and they are all-black, not stripe of a Kool-Aid green or swish or bubble-gum pink to be seen. I walked around the house with them for most of two days and they fit absolutely beautifully.

I’m a physician and on my feet most of the day. I had foot surgery on my major toe 3 months ago, and will be having surgery on my ankle in 2 months. These are THE only shoes I can wear all day. The arch support is excellent and the cushioning is very good. I’ve ordered another pair in a different color and wish there were different color combinations .

As I have gotten older, age 72, my shoe size has changed as an adult from size ten, to size 13. I sincerely hope My feet dont grow any larger, or I will have to go barefoot! I hope the shoe companies will realize that our feet still grow as adults, so they need to start making larger size shoes. This shoe is roomy in the toe area. The heel has extra plastic walls on the heel of the shoe, so the heel does not slip to the sides. I like that the side and front of the shoe does NOT have extra panels sewn on it, that can sometimes iritate and rub on the foot. I have very few choices on shoes because of my size. These are comfortable, so far, although I have only had them for a day. Time will tell.

Great fit. I like the extra metatarsal support. Room for my orthopedic insert. Lower profile styling than the cumulus or nimbus. Seem to stay supportive longer and last longer than either cumulus and nimbus (for me anyway). I have arthritis in both feet and have tried Hoka’s, NB, and Saucony. Asics are my go to for fit, cushioning, style and life of the shoe.

The excellent Kayano design is BACK!! Gel Kayano was my go-to for years (moderate-level runner, some races, 1/2 marathon); ASICS monkeyed with the design and forced me to unsuccessfully search for a replacement shoe. My running days are over due to arthritic knees :( but thankfully this perfect shoe will keep me logging my walking miles. Great width in toe box, arch support, stability and comfort, lower-than-most ankle cut, and not overly weighty.

Ordered on a Monday, received on Wednesday. I wore these shoes next to work. I am on my feet 8 hours on concrete, walking constantly, with heavy lifting. Usually suffer with hip, leg and foot pain during the day and especially after work day is done, first day wearing these shoes I had no pain during the day or after workday was done. I do usually spend that much on shoes but so far, these shoes are worth the $$$. Only complaint, colors available in 9 wide width wasn't what I'd like to choose BUT for work it's ok. My marathon running best friend (I am NOT a runner) recommended these shoes. I am a factory worker.

The only reason I returned these was the color. Be warned that they are way brighter PURPLE than the photo implies. I have these shoes in black and knew they fit and wore like a dream, so I ordered the purple as back-ups. When I stepped outside in them the first time and saw the sun on them, I actually felt embarrassed. They were so bright purple against my black pants that I felt like Barney the Purple Dinosaur. I went back inside and changed back into my black ones. But the style is great -- good lateral stability, good tread, very comfortable. I have to put Superfeet in all my walking shoes because I have plantar fasciitis, so I can't vouch for the arch support of these shoes. With my Superfeet, they are excellent for exercise walking on any surface.

I fell in love with the Kayano around #19. They have great arch support and have a nice toe box. I don’t usually need a wide shoe, but shoes that are naturally narrow don’t work for me. Then, ASICS changed up the shoe for several years and I bought Brooks. After reading the reviews of these I decided to give them another try and low and behold they are back to their former glory! These are far more similar to the 20s than the 23 or 24. I have a high arch and enjoy all kinds of exercise, including high impact HIIT training. These are great and I plan to buy several pairs to make sure I have enough in case ASICS changes up the fit again!!

After researching online (thanks to Zappos!) rediscovered this brand and shoe. Fits like a glove! I have a narrow foot (thankful the N width option is available) and like a more rounded toe in a shoe design to allow the toes space to move. Initial impression is good heel and arch support as well as metatarsal padding. Love the shoe laces and the color options for daily wear - especially the carbon grey and the black. Nicely done, Asics - and as always, Zappos!

It was difficult not to keep these sneakers! For anyone with wide feet, this wide size gives you plenty of room and the support is great too. The color, however, not so much. Depressing gray, in my opinion, so I am returning them. I think another reviewer said something similar - just because we have wide feet doesn't mean we want drab color choices!! I would have kept them in the lighter gray.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks in wide but it varies by style - Brooks Adrenaline for wider feet!

I have worn Asics for many years. They were always so comfortable, with the padded innersole that I look for. I have ordered and returned the last few pairs that I have tried. The innersoles are hard as bricks and the shoes have felt inflexible. Just awful. I don't know what they have done to them, but I'm moving to another brand of running shoes.

I love Asics but this sneaker is TERRIBLE! I wore them for the first time last night. They are described to help with over-pronation but there was NO over-pronation support! During step class, the balls of my feet went numb and the back of the shoes is cut so high that they irritated my achilles tendons. I don't know what I'll use these sneakers for but it won't be to work out!

These are great for my newly reconstructed foot. Had flatfoot reconstructive surgery in June, these shoes really support my feet. They keep my foot in a neutral position, the arch support is adequate. I think the Kayano 24 has more cushioning than the 25. Overall, a terrific shoe. I just wish they had other color options.

ASICS are my favorite brand, unfortunately I have a very narrow foot. My last Gel-Kayano were the 23. This AA was too wide. The toe box was huge on the 25. ASICS only makes a few narrow shoes. The only choice of color in a narrow is grey which really is unappealing. Returning them.

Love these shoes! I have difficult feet but these shoes don’t hurt anything. I love the wide toe box and the way it doesn’t pinch my toes together. It fits my narrow heel very well. Insole feels springy and not too hard or soft. The arch support could be just a little bit higher for me but I can live with that.
