I don’t know why this sandal has so many haters! The Arizona Big Buckle provides some much needed flair and personality to a tried and true Birk style. I opted for the Ceramic Blue Leather, and just like denim, they go with everything. Yes the footbed is a patent-type leather— it’s still just as supportive and comfortable as the footbeds in my Gizehs. Yes, the straps are stiff to begin with— they’re leather, guys— they will ease up with continued wear. The big, shiny buckles might seem like a bit much when looking down at them— but before you write these sandals off, take a full length selfie in the mirror wearing them with your favorite outfit; they definitely took me about a day to realize I love them, but I do— they’re uniquely fabulous. Important to note: these sandals, by no means, feel cheap or of lesser quality than my other Birkenstocks. The narrow width fits my average-width feet just fine, and the footbed, like my other Birks, is stiff and not a perfect, comfortable fit out of the box— but I know they will mold to my feet eventually. If you’re on the fence about these, give them a try: Zappos is AMAZING with returns and exchanges.

I've owned a few Birkenstocks, and these are my first Arizonas. I always order a whole size down, and it was true with these ones. The beds are different from the regular Birks, "slick" as one reviewer said, but I thought these were still very comfortable! The buckles are much bigger, but I got used to them.

Not as advertised. Description says it is a soft bed which it definitely is not. I have several soft bed Birks and this is the traditional standard bed base not soft. But cute style with the bigger buckle. Would purchase if soft bed available.

I received these today and have already returned them. I did so want to love them. The foot bed was a slick finish and not the suede lined as described in the information, and the buckles were cheap sounding and looked to be poor quality compared to my other Arizonas. The color is pretty but sandal was too slick to keep my foot in place with or without socks. They also felt wider than usual even though I ordered a narrow but this could be due to the foot bed being so slick. sad.

Very excited to own my first pair of Birkestocks! The color is feminine obviously and the star/flower like design is appealing. The buckles do set off the airport security machine, but just remove them and pass through x-ray machine. I recently got orthotics and wanted to get an open toed shoe/sandal to wear without the orthotics so I could see my pedicure gain and just have open toe living sometimes. So, my goal was to support my foot and evenly distribute weight of my foot strike. Wore them for walking tours and did really well with this overall (except see blisters below). My back feels good wearing them which is connected to foot issues. When I wear regular flip-flops I don't get support and end up feeling in low back. I initially started by looking for the old school dr. scholl's I remember as a kid, but the review talked about different materials vs. wood and that pushed me to the Birkenstocks. Have some blisters as I break in (typical) the leather portion. However, I know that this will pass and I will eventually get that soft, lived-in feel I am desiring. Just don't wear for long stretches at first - short periods of time each day until they are broken in. Wish buckle was rose gold, but traditional gold is nice, too. Would recommend to a friend. Give them a try!

Out of the box I loved these shoes BUT them I put them on and had problems with the buckle nearest my toes. The strap works its way out of the buckle it does not matter if you adjust them to looser or tighter it happens on both shoes. This happens after only having them on for 5 minutes. Unfortunately I have worn them outside and cannot return them.

I love these shoes! I am so happy I bought them --- they are the perfect summer shoes! I did order a size down -- I am normally a 7 but I got a 6 based off of other reviews and it was the best decision!

The buckles come undone and pop up / have never stayed down, even after a summer of wear. While the style is super cute, it’s annoying to constantly tighten the buckles back or rebuckle. I have other pairs of birks and this has never been an issue, only the big buckle style.

These shoes were white on the bottom, not black. The fit was fine but the white bottom wasn't.

Love these shoes! Though I ended up having to size down. I normally wear a 9-9.5 and needed the 8-8.5 size in these.

I typically wear a US size 9 or 9.5 and European size 40. I ordered these in a 40 and they were a good fit. My feet are average width, and the "narrow" (which seems to be the default width) was fine for me. I did not find the footbed to be "soft" (as stated in the video) but maybe it is softer than other Birkenstock styles. This is the only one I have tried, so I can't compare. The "washed metallic blue" color looks like silver, not blue (which is how it looks online, too-- the photos are accurate). The "washed" finish is slightly distressed, which means the color has some inconsistencies, which I didn't like-- I thought it looked like there was dirt on the shoe. See photo. I returned these and bought the Mephisto Helen in Silver Vernise instead.

I have been wearing Birkenstocks for 20 plus years, so I know how they feel when breaking them in. These we SO stiff and painful! There is no way I’d be able to try to break them in, they gave me a blister after wearing them around the house for an hour. I’m sad to be returning them bc they are beautiful.

So cute and great for summer

I wear a 7.5 in most shoes, but needed a 37 (6-6.5) in these. My feet are narrow and shallow and the narrow fit worked well for me buckled on the tightest hole. I love the big buckle - it makes the shoes feel a bit more modern.

These were perfect, except the noise that they made when I took steps. So I exchanged them to see if another pair will be more quiet;) Thanks, Zappos! I DO recommend them! Also, I love to hear feedback from other customers:)

Don’t care what anyone thinks about Birkenstock but these are hip! Like the crackle like finish on the leather and the big buckles. Plan on a lot of use over the summer w cutoffs and casual dresses.

I bought these for my 8 year old daughter. She has worn Birkenstocks for years and loves them so much she’s still wearing them everyday in October in cold Boston! This pair is so cute with the gold buckles and print. I’m very happy with them.

According to the size chart I would have ordered a 38- 39 as I am a size 8. The 39 wasn't in stock so I ordered the 38. They are a perfect fit! My foot does not hang over and I don't have to hold on with my toes if you understand what I mean. I love the black footbed, it makes the shoe a little more dressy. And the big buckles just make the shoe. I have a super umm..... "sophisticated" (nice way to put it) Aunt who never likes anything I wear but she loved my shoes. So I highly recommend the shoes- they look great, feel like my old Birkenstocks but with a little more style and I ordered the smaller of the recommended styles. I wore them in super rainy Florida and no stains so far. I got the Black with the Black footbed and silver buckles. Thanks Zappos!

These are really "goofy" as far as birks go - they are shiny, pink, and have white soles. Having said that, it is a fun twist on the comfy sandals I've been wearing for years. Note - the footbed in these is not soft and is a lighter color than usual.

Originally ordered a 37, I’m a true size 6. They were too big so I reordered a 36 and they fit perfectly. I’ve been on the fence because these were so pricey, but I’m glad I pulled the trigger!! I get a ton of compliments and the gold buckles give them a fancier casual look :). The break-in period took about 2 weeks and was a little rough, but now they feel like a million bucks!!! The toe bar was my biggest issue. After doing some research, I hammered the toe bar to soften the cork and it helped a ton!

The huge buckles on these made my large size 41 feet look even bigger! Also the gold was very shiney on the buckles and the leather and I would’ve preferred matte. Returning these for these reasons but the fit was super comfy in a narrow so I’m going to try another color in the Arizona fit.

The straps stretch out over time but I'm used to that in Birks. They are the only shoes that make my plantar fasciitis disappear. I wear them everywhere all day long except when I have to go in to the office, they're too casual for that.

This brand is a difficult fit for me. I usually am a size 7 or 37 in a sandal. In this shoe the 36 was slightly too small and the 37 slightly too large. I kept the 37, as I love the style of this shoe with it's adjustable straps and large buckles. If you can wear this brand it is a very attractive and comfortable style. And , thank you Zappos, for your usual wonderful customer service.

I am always a 7 - 7.5 so ordered the 38 which was way too big - exchanged for the 37 which fits great. Have a couple blisters from top straps after two days of wear, but this has always happened when breaking in Birkenstocks or Mephistos for me so wasn't surprised. Love this "rose gold" color and the big buckle - lots of compliments in two days time!
