I have owned probably 17-20 pairs of Birkenstock’s over the past 30 years. They are consistent and fit my feet great. Something about this style doesn’t work for me. The buckle is too big to allow for flexion of the foot when walking. I also think the holes may be slightly different on the left and right sides of the toe straps.

So disappointed. I received mine today and let's just say they are nothing like what I expected. I only had them on for about 5 mins when I decided they were going back. The straps are not a comfortable material by no means. They dig into your skin. I love the big buckle style but they were digging into my feet. They are going back for sure.

This review is specifically for the Arizona Big Buckle, in Ceramic Blue. I hated this shoe. First, let me say that I love Birkenstocks, have worn them for many, many years, and I currently own about a half dozen pairs. First, this shoe ran oddly large, which I have never seen in Birkenstocks. Generally, the sizing is extremely reliable. Second, whatever treatment has been done to the leather upper, makes it feel very hard, more like plastic than leather. Unfortunate, because the pattern is really cute. The large buckles, especially if you already have a large foot, looks very clunky, and made my feet look even bigger. Third, the deal breaker was the footbed. I don't know if it is leather, but it has a completely different feel than every other Birkenstock footbed. It is extremely smooth and slick, not like the suede that you have with most Birks. Much like the upper, it feels more like plastic than leather. I felt like my foot would be sliding around on that footbed, instead of feeling secure. Because of the large sizing, the weirdly slick footbed, and the hard, uncomfortable upper, I ended up returning these. I'll continue to wear Birks, but just not this model.

These are super cute and I can't wait to wear them out and about in South Africa next month. I needed a comfy shoe and Birks never disappoint. I've been breaking them in around the house so they will be ready for the trip.

I’m a size 6 and the 36 fit perfectly. I can’t believe it took me so long to get on the Birkenstock train (I’m more of a 4” pumps or wedges kinda gal). I want to wear them with everything. I particularly like the grey color as my first pair because they feel a bit “less casual” than the original leather color. I’m officially in love.

Fit was true to size, love birkenstocks, always comfy, haven't worn out yet as it is March in Northern WI. Can't wait for warmer weather to show them off. Zappos rocks in service and speedy shipping. Keep up the good work!
