Beautiful well made boots great leather and nice zipper. However this is the 4th pair of Sorel's I have purchased in one month that I had to return because they make such a tight instep. This boot should be easy to slip on with a back zip but the zipper does not go down enough to slide your boot under top of instep. I would have loved to keep these boots but sadly going back, Sorel is not for anyone who has even a slightly high instep

Comfortable--a little tight in the foot, but I tried on with thicker socks since I intend these are for winter wear. The pair I received were a perfect fit in one calf, but the left was super tight! Would have needed to return for a larger size anyway.

Styling is so cute, but...tried a half size larger to accommodate winter socks, but the calves are just too tight. They are completely unforgiving, they would be well served with a little goring to provided some flex--when zipped I felt like my calf was about to cramp from being constricted.

Too tight on calves. My calves are 15 inches though.

Love these boots! They are very comfortable and cute! They do fit a bit narrow in the leg but that's perfect for me.

This boot’s leather is probably the nicest I’ve seen and I know boots! It’s nice if you like thick and supple. Bc the zipper stops short, be prepared to struggle getting your heel in the boot, but one in the leather hugs your leg like a second skin. I’m slim legged so be forewarned! The distressed black is exactly what a distressed black should be. I would have like more cushion on footbed but it wasn’t horribly hard. I reluctantly returned my boot bc I wasn’t in love with the “look” or cut of foot, and for the price I need to be in love. If I kept, it would have been entirely bc of quality of leather. Also, go up 1/2 or 1 whole size if you wear socks. Beautiful Boot.

I love these boots! They are very well made. I have several pairs of Sorel wedges and boots. I've learned to purchase a half size smaller than other shoes I buy. These are not winter boots. Easy to wear over skinny jeans. The heal was very difficult to get my high arched foot into. I think if I had a shoe horn I could ease my foot in better. Or wear them a ton and wait for them to stretch a bit.

I love these boots. I bought them hoping they might have real arch support, and they do. I pronate, so in most shoes my feet are sore after a long day. Right out of the box, I wore these all day working in the lab, plus 2 hours of driving, and my feet still felt great so I didn’t even want to take them off. I’ve never had trouble with boots fitting my calves, and these work even over skinny jeans, but they’re definitely snug and I can see how they might not work with wider calves. I also agree they’re a little hard to get your feet into at first, but they’re already loosening up a bit. I sized up a half size so I could wear thick socks. The Quarry is definitely dark gray, not black, but it looks great with all my skirts and with jeans. The leather is soft and comfy, and I stayed warm with thick cotton socks. They’re simple and understated so they don’t look like everyone else’s equestrian boots, and the little padded detail at the knee gives them just a teeny bit of a warrior princess look.

These are simply the best boots I have ever bought. Sturdy and good for New England, but dressy enough to wear to work with skirts. Great heel height that is not too low, nor too high.

Finally. I found boots that fit my (bigger) feet, give me arch support, and are stylish. I’ve already gotten several compliments and hope to buy them in another color. I got the gray, which are perfect for my work (jeans/business casual) or weekend. I have crazy high arches and plantar fasciitis and these boots support my achy runner’s feet. The one slight downside is that I found my heel slips a little. After the trying on with different, thicker socks, I didn’t notice again. Totally recommend!

I love love love these boots. They are high-quality, the leather is soft and supple, and the footbed is extremely comfortable (compared to most leather boots -- not compared to a tennis shoe or slipper), and I love that they are waterproof. I didn't have any trouble at all getting my foot in the boot or zipping it up, and I have fairly large feet (usually wear a 9.5). I have trouble finding boots with a narrow enough shaft, so I've gotten used to looking at the measurements provided on Zappos before purchasing boots, and these fit my calves perfectly!! So adorable with skinny jeans or leggings. My only issue was that the foot seemed to run a little short. When walking, my toes would touch the ends. So, instead of my normal 9.5, I reordered in a 10. I'd recommend ordering a half size up.

I took a chance on these despite the mediocre reviews (although there were only 4 reviews when I ordered them). I love this boot! The moment I put them on, my feet said "ahhhhh". I wear a size 11, sometimes in a narrow if I can find it, and I have a high arch. I'm 6 feet tall, so I have long, thinnish calves. These are perfect for me in every way. The footbed isn't too wide, my heel doesn't slide around, and my legs aren't swimming in the shaft of the boot. I walk 4 miles in the city every day to and from work, often in the rain, and I think these will be ideal. The heel is that perfect height that is almost more comfortable than walking in a flat. And the quarry/black color (which is really a dark grey) is so much more interesting than just a black boot. Love!!

these are very stylish and the thick leather is amazing. however the top of the calf design has a tab that digs into my flesh around the knee, and i have relatively thin calves. going back.

For me, with narrow feet and a high instep, these boots were fine. I did need a shoe/boot horn to get into them, but once in they were very comfortable. However, they look like rubber boots - not leather, and they really are GREY not black. I would probably keep them if not for the color but I am returning them.

truly beautiful boots that I think would have lasted a long time: made very well. They were too tight for my calves and very difficult to put on because of the back and not side zipper.
