Did a lot of research into a few jackets at this price range. Chose this one due to its style and versatility - am not disappointed at all! Had it for around 4 months through cold and mostly rain! Great for casual and smart wear. The only nitpick is the inside pocket is too small.

I have had the amazing pleasure of having this jacket for one week and I am In love!! I am not the type of person to write reviews but this jacket was so amazing that I had to write a review on this jacket. This jacket is amazing for everyday use I have used the jacket in freezing cold weather on days that it felt like it was in the negative temperatures outside. The jacket really did what it was intended and designed to do it kept my body really warm while also blocking the wind from entering the jacket while also keeping me dry. In a week I have brought this jacket in really harsh conditions for example super high winds and freezing temperatures and it really impressed me how amazing the jacket did keeping warm from the harsh elements. For those who are thinking about purchasing the jacket please do hesitate to buy it, I understand the price seems high but it's not for what you are getting for the price! Another bonus when you buy this jacket is the AMAZING customer service that comes with this amazing jacket!

I have been wearing this parka for two seasons now and all I can say is that it's hands down the warmest thing I've ever experienced. I've taken this through -40C Northern Ontario and Calgary winters, and I have yet to feel the cold. It stops wind 100%, is 100% waterproof (at least in my experience ice fishing for a few hours in light rain). The hood is down filled like the rest of the jacket which is awesome. Almost everything about the parka's design is perfect, from the elastic wrist cuffs that work, to the slick chest pocket, and overall it looks super sleek and professional yet modern at the same time. The ONLY negative thing I can say is that it is actually too warm sometimes! I generally run warm, so any activity more than walking (light hiking or pulling a sled, even in way below freezing) or walking around indoors at a store, I start sweating... a lot. It would be amazing if it came with pit zips to dump that hot air when indoors.

I've had my eye on this parka for a few years, but would balk at the price. Every fall, I would restart my search for the perfect parka that 1. would keep me toasty and 2. have a sophisticated design. All searches came back to the Thorsen Parka. So I finally pulled the trigger on this item and I've been completely satisfied. I'm 5'10" and 150lbs., athletic/lean build and typically between a small and medium depending on the fit. The item is a regular fit, so I went with the small and fits me perfectly. Enough room for a blazer or layering for the winter. The only recommendations I would provide to Arc'Teryx would be to include a second interior chest zip pocket or glove pockets and use a beefier zipper.

A truly amazing jacket for the worst weather. Sleek outline, but packs massive down fill for warmth and Gore-Tex for waterproofness. Face fabric feels like it'd survive anything, while the inside is soft and smooth as can be. The long length protects and insulates more of the body without restricting motion. Definitely more geared towards city use, but the durability would let it work anywhere.

Once again I am completely baffled by the Arc'teryx magic of practicality and look. This parka not only looks good, fits well and feels extremely good on the inside. I have gotten many positive comments regarding its seamless design. What I also love about it is how smooth the zipper is and the lightness of the jacket. It's a 750 fill power, so you get the warmth without it feeling like a chain mail. Overall, the best extreme cold weather piece I've ever owned.

Bought this parka in winter of 2019, fell in love with the brand. As living in NYC, it's all about the wind chill (rather than the temperature itself) which is not uncommon to experience 10 to 20F on low end and 30Fs on average. The wind proof of the parka is really the key. I also have Mackage, Canada Goose, and Moncler jackets which are able to provide the same warmth but with a much higher price tag and extremely heavy. In comparison, Thorsen's warmth to weight ratio is unbelievably high. I don't feel the heavy shoulder anymore and more importantly, I need to let loosen out the zipper as I would sweat in it. It runs slightly bigger. If you like the slimmer look, go a size down. If you want the true value, stay within your size because you are able to layer more. I wear L and get M but still able to layer up with an Atom LT on those extreme days. I am lucky to get the Wildwood color which I don't see it being sold now. I often received compliments on the styling and the color of parka. I usually wear suit on weekdays with it and a jumper with track pants over the weekend. Works on both ends.

I bought this jacket in the fall and used it throughout the winter. It did not disappoint. It kept me both warm while waiting at a windy bus stop and yet not overheated when I was shoveling my drive way. It also has the right number of pockets to seperate all the essentials and more. Highly recommended this product to anyone.

It's a must have, I am 5'11", 150 lbs. Size Medium. I got it last winter and I love it. Length of jacket covers all the way to thigh, adjustable hood works perfect with/out beanie, zip all the way to cover nose absolutely help on a windy day. Gore-Tex fabric blocks all wind that no need to mention. And most important it is super lightweight. highly recommended!

Very warm and stylish. Best coat I've owned for urban environments. Perfect for Toronto but I'd imagine you'd need to wear a good mid layer in colder cities such as Ottawa and Montreal.

This is a great jacket. It's very warm, has very high build quality, and is handsome. In Boston it can get very cold and there's high humidity. Thorsen protects you from the harshness outside and is very comfortable. Drawbacks (very slight) I wear a small which is the correct size for me. If you have additional layers on like a thick fleece, or something less form fitting it can be a little snug especially around the arm pits and neck if you have the jacket zipped all the way up. If the two-way zipper is fully zipped and you bend down to pick something up the bottom of the zipper may unzip a notch or two. Not really an issues, but something I noticed. I do wish the hand pockets were slightly larger. I have a pair of Arc'teryx SV mittens which are large and do fit, but I'm often checking that they don't fall out of the pockets. Benefits The build quality on this jacket is great. The materials, feel, the stitching and seams, and design are excellent. It's indelibly warm and I've often worn just a t-shirt underneath in freezing weather with no issues. The interior pocket is great for a wallet, and the exterior chest pocket neatly fits a 250-weight wool hat. The hand pockets are fleece lined and very warm. My hands get cold very easily and walking around with my hands in the pockets in freezing weather I was astounded that my hands were warm. The visibility with the hood up is excellent. I lose almost no peruriferial vision with the hood up, and it's very warm. The jacket is thigh length which is great. The two-way zipper is very convenient if you need to pick something up, want more room to move, or get too warm. Just slipping this jacket on feels special. The blue color that I bought is very handsome and the shiny blue interior looks and feels special. There is a small flap inside the jacket against the zipper that goes all the way down to provide some additional barrier from the cold, and possibly protect your cloths underneath from rubbing against the zipper. While there are no pit-zips (which would leak warm air) there is a small mesh section under each armpit to help dump some heat so you don't overheat (and likely to help manage perspiration). It's little touches like this (in addition to the warmth) that justify the price and make you feel special every time you put on the jacket. TLDR; excellent product, very warm, little downside, worth the price.

Bought this coat about a month. Looking for something for those very cold Jan/Feb days when it's -15 or colder. Wanted something that looked fashionable, minimalist but very warm - hard to find such a thing - but this fits the bill! Size small was perfect. I'm 5'8" 38" chest, 31 waist 153lb. Wider at the shoulders. Enough room for a baselayer and a fleece. Great for the office or the weekend.

Just bought this coat and it is superb For size comparison I am 6ft 4in and weight in at 17 stone 6lb and the XL fits me perfect for length comfort and style. .over the years I have owned alot of good winter coats from Fjallraven, Burghaus Mommat etc and nothing compares to this coat for warmth from putting it on, you are toasty.. open it when in a shop and you are cool ready to go outside in the freeze. It's the winter coat you can wear anywhere. A true coat to wear for the normal person who does not live in the wilderness fishing on frozen lakes and hunting. It's well made with vents under the arms which go between the material which is a nice feature, the collar is comfy and when the Hood is up adds warmth like a scarf.. The cuffs are press studded which is better than velcro which wears out. The cuffs have a warm insulator to stop drafts another great feature, it's so light you can't believe you have on. When the box arrived I thought it was empty it's so light. I can honestly say it's of the best winter coats on the planet. The single arcteryx logo is a nice touch on the sleeve it is discrete not shouting like some of the other brands Delivery was exceptional 2 days from Germany to the UK well done Would I recommend this coat.. straight away .. I looked at this and the therme To me the therme is a lesser coat shorter not as worm .not as insulated, Hood not insulated.. you need a winter coat for warmth and this ticks all of the boxes with the added bonus it's smart to wear has little weight and your not cooked when wearing it shopping Is it worth the money yes

I purchased this parka several years ago, when a job change allowed me to walk to work each day. This parka has been terrific, even through the coldest and most blustery winter weather. Excellent fit! I particularly like the inner-cuff on the sleeves, the versatility provided by multiple collar snaps, and the integrated hood that allows one to protect the neck from drafts even when wearing a separate cap. Best parka I have ever owned!

Bought this last winter as I had been looking for something really warm, long enough to go down my thighs and able to deal with the wetness of Vancouver weather. I use it for walking the dogs mostly. This has ended up being pretty much perfect. Quality and performance are excellent and >I think it looks nice

I have tried and owned many high end branded winter jackets and this Thorsen jacket blows all of them right out of the water! It's super warm(I would wear a light sweater) and still be warm in -20C weather. It's also waterproof and wind resistant which is amazing. I feel no draft inside my jacket. You get what you pay for!

This fits great as a true medium and has performed amazingly in a serious Minnesota winter. The aspect of it that surprises me the most is that as warm as it is when I'm outside, it doesn't overheat me when I'm indoors. It cost a premium, but so far (3 weeks in) it's worth it (assuming it will be durable in the coming months and years.)

I'm 5'11, 165lbs with a 32 inch waist and an athletic build. I was in the market for a higher end winter jacket and started to really narrow my search. I was looking for a parka and I wanted it in an Olive (Wildwood) colour. That really narrowed my search as only a few companies sell parkas in this colour. At $1000 and ordering online I was a bit skeptical but from pictures and reviews I had saw, I was pretty confident making the purchase. I've had the jacket for three weeks now and winter is nowhere to be found so I haven't gotten to wear it as yet. I'm pretty sure I've tried it on at least 100 times at home now. The first thing I noticed is it fits pretty snug, not tight but close to the body. This isn't a bad thing as it doesn't have any adjusters for the waist. I feel like if it did have adjusters I would adjust them to the same level it's already at. I ordered a medium as I don't plan to layer too much with this jacket, but I tried it on with a few of my hooded sweaters and it felt too restricting. With a medium sweater without a hood I'm fine but if I planned to layer more I would definitely need a large. The design is flawless. I have searched the jacket thoroughly and couldn't find any flaws in the design. The stitching is all clean, there is no down leaking as I've had with other new winter jackets and the zipper is great. I get really annoyed when my zipper gets jammed or gives issues when zipping up and unzipping but this is a high quality zipper that gives no issues. My only complaint would be the hood. Although it's big which I like. I wish it provided more face coverage. It protects and covers your head very well but your my cheeks are quite exposed unlike a similar design Parka I have. It's a lightweight jacket less than half the weight of my other winter jacket but it's fairly warm. I don't expect to use this jacket in -25C or lower temperatures but if I did I would definitely have gotten a Large so I could wear a thicker mid layer with it. For now I just have to wait until it's cold enough to wear it out. Most days have hardly been below 0. I rarely need my winter jacket until it hits around -10C
