I'm 5'11, 165lbs with a 32 inch waist and an athletic build. I was in the market for a higher end winter jacket and started to really narrow my search. I was looking for a parka and I wanted it in an Olive (Wildwood) colour. That really narrowed my search as only a few companies sell parkas in this colour. At $1000 and ordering online I was a bit skeptical but from pictures and reviews I had saw, I was pretty confident making the purchase.
I've had the jacket for three weeks now and winter is nowhere to be found so I haven't gotten to wear it as yet. I'm pretty sure I've tried it on at least 100 times at home now. The first thing I noticed is it fits pretty snug, not tight but close to the body. This isn't a bad thing as it doesn't have any adjusters for the waist. I feel like if it did have adjusters I would adjust them to the same level it's already at. I ordered a medium as I don't plan to layer too much with this jacket, but I tried it on with a few of my hooded sweaters and it felt too restricting. With a medium sweater without a hood I'm fine but if I planned to layer more I would definitely need a large.
The design is flawless. I have searched the jacket thoroughly and couldn't find any flaws in the design. The stitching is all clean, there is no down leaking as I've had with other new winter jackets and the zipper is great. I get really annoyed when my zipper gets jammed or gives issues when zipping up and unzipping but this is a high quality zipper that gives no issues.
My only complaint would be the hood. Although it's big which I like. I wish it provided more face coverage. It protects and covers your head very well but your my cheeks are quite exposed unlike a similar design Parka I have. It's a lightweight jacket less than half the weight of my other winter jacket but it's fairly warm. I don't expect to use this jacket in -25C or lower temperatures but if I did I would definitely have gotten a Large so I could wear a thicker mid layer with it.
For now I just have to wait until it's cold enough to wear it out. Most days have hardly been below 0. I rarely need my winter jacket until it hits around -10C

I needed a coat for the proper Canadian snowstorms and was looking at different brands but none offered this style of coat without a lot of added and unneeded extras. The coat is well fitted and true to size without reducing mobility at the sacrifice of warmth. I've even had this on days where the weather wasn't quite as cold and it's done a good job at managing heat. Slush, snow, sleet, it's just worked. Happy with the quality of stitching and lining, and it's just overall a very comfortable and good looking parka to wear. Highly recommended if you're able to swing something in this price range as a buy one and done solution.

A very sleek style for a very warm parka
Not over-designed, but with enough pockets for me.
It would be nice with some sort of waist adjustment or cuff at waist level, so hard winds don't drain your heat, but it is a minor problem, since the length of the parka protects you from most things nature can throw at you.
I am very, very happy with it

What a nice, clean and simple parka. Only one logo on the arm, nothing else. It's perfect to someone like me who is looking for a high-end parka without the huge, obvious logo. It's warm and light. It's so clean that I can wear in some formal events.
I find the hood is a bit short side, smaller than my other Arcteryx shells. It drags my head/shoulder while i'm sitting. The only 2 front pockets are overlapping, so it's no point to use both at the same time as you will see an uneven thickness.

You get quality for this price. It is super lightweight considering how warm it is and it feels amazing. I'm 6'2" and the medium fit better than large.

I've had mine for only a week, but so far I agree with the other reviews. It's a great parka all in all.
Apart from all the pro's they should have added another internal pocket on the right hand side.

Purchased this jacket a few weeks ago so far I'm very happy with it. It's lightweight and warm! Most jackets I feel smothered but this jacket I have my full range of motion! I'm 6'1" with long arms and broad shoulders and the medium fit perfect.

Made my winter warm and cozy. Finally I have a one piece protection from cold York region winds in -15 feeling like -25. Highly recommend.
My wife who has a women version of the parka compares it to wrapping yourself with a light down blanket when heading outside

Great jacket. I've owned several other jackets at this price range (Canada Goose, Patagonia, Fjallraven). However, it was hard to find one that was actually Goretex/waterproof to fight those days of freezing rain. I only wish if there was an additional pocket inside vs just 1.

Very pleased with styling and lightweight. I'm donating two coats that are in like- new condition. One is oil-cloth and the other a technical name brand design. Both are much heavier even with their down insulation and much harder to stow in vehicle or restaurant, for example.
Hand warmer pockets very generous. All zippers flawless. Hood adjusts well to the snug fit I like. The coat is lengthy, but I bought it for warmth above all, and accept this slight inconvenience for function.

I have owned an L sized Camosun Parka for three years. It is a very comfortable park. This leads me to want to try the best parka by Arc Teryx.
I had tried the L sized Thorsen Parka, its sleeves are too long. Then I tried a medium size. It fits perfectly.

I'll be moving to Russia, so I wanted a jacket that would save me from the cold and wet winters I'm sure to encounter. This parka is one of the most comfortable and lightweight winter jackets I've owned, I've tested it under wet conditions and it's awesome to see water roll right off without leaving me or my mid layer wet or damp. I do wish it was just a little bit shorter in length, but after having tried so many different winter jackets, this one con can easily be overlooked.

Living in Shanghai. So Wintertime is always raining. Setup bevor was Atom Ar and Beta AR.
Due to this is longer and only one jacket is easier to wear and you stay longer warm. I have that parka for two weeks now and i didn't regret it at all. I also have Canada Goose Expedition Parka. Ok. Hard to compare but: for City use the Arcteryx. It is better ( of course). Why need this Parka for Shanghai you will ask? Yeah...we do not have a wooden fire in our homes or central heating. Everything is heat up by AC. So you be that cold that you even start wearing this parkas inside your home because the AC makes the Air to dry imposible to breath.
Yes: You may stay longer warm in a Canada Goose. But these is not water prof or only limit proof.
Big positive for me: I'm quite strong build :-) Still have space in the XXL Arcteryx Parka. No space in the Canada Goose XXL.
So if you search a jacket for city use you wanna stay dry and compfy and 9000 RMB (1200 Euro) is the target price of you jacket: choose Arcteryx

This is the most comfortable winter coat I have ever worn hands down. I absolutely love it. Its warmth to weight ratio is incredible. When you pick it up, you wont believe it will keep you warm, but it really does. I bought it before moving to ND where the wind is notorious and the cold gets pretty brutal. In -60F winds with a delta AR and t-shirt on underneath I stayed plenty warm. Mind you I also had warm pants and Alpha SV mittens with Rho gloves on, but I was amazed. My core and arms have never been cold in this jacket. The shell material has a really nice face fabric and stops all wind. The length hits me just about 4 inches above the knee and keeps my backside and tops of my legs relatively comfortable (5'10"). I cant believe anyone would want to buy a jacket for frigid temps without a hood, and would absolutely not have bought this jacket if it didn't have one. That said my only suggestion is more down in the hood. when the hood adjusters are tightened the front elastic portion sticks out a bit. This is not a climbing jacket, but it has a climbing hood. I think more down towards the front on the top and sides of the hood would add a nice cacoon effect similar to the fuzzy on some other brands expensive jackets. So far despite wearing it driving to and from work every day for 3 months i have noticed I think 2 small feathers pop out. The inside material slides very well, the arms aren't too puffy, and the pockets are quite accessible. Regarding the front hand pockets they are excellent, plenty big for gloved hands. The insulating material is on the body side of the pocket so if you leave them open you don't lose heat, and if you need this jacket you should be probably be wearing gloves so no need for the insulation on the front, and this also helps keep a sleeker profile. Just so impressed with this jacket, would buy it again in a heart beat, in fact I may throw down for one next year just in case they decide to change it for the worse!
