Bought right at a year ago in Bagram, Afghanistan at the PX. They have been great until this morning when I noticed the sole starting to separate. I figured I would get many years from these boots, unfortunately that might not happen. Boots were comfortable right out of the box minimal if any breakin period. Would I buy these again, more than likely yes, love the boots.

"Walnut" is the appropriate name but only if you think OLIVE GREEN, like walnut shell's color, when the nut first hits ground. This is NOT a brown/tan colored boot. Have tried twice now to get a browish/tan colored boot and names/pics used are deceptive. Sending both pair back to Merrell...Be very careful of on-line/box pics or purchase your Merrells only at a retail store.

Great quality but smaller than expected so Ive ordered a size larger. My old Merrells lasted several years and traveled many miles.

These boots seemed like they would be good, but the heel is kind of loose and the arch falls in the wrong place. The boot seems light and has light mid and insoles which makes them seem cheap, not like a boot that sells for over $100.

I have short and fat feet. According to the foot measuring device in the shoe store, I take a size 7E or 7EE. I purchased this shoe in 7 regular and 7 wide and compared them. The regular width was simply too narrow for my fat foot, so I chose to keep the 7 wide. The 7 wide feels okay when I first put it on, but after wearing a few hours it becomes evident I should have returned both pairs of shoes. The 7 wide is actually too wide for the front of my foot, while it puts too much pressure on the top of my foot over the upper tongue of the boot. Then, upon further reflection, I feel the boot is just a bit too sloppy in length for my foot. I do like how lightweight these boots are and I also like how they look. Now if I could only find a pair that fits!

Although the boot is comfortable, it makes soooooo much noise when you walk. I was pretty bummed out as I wear a size 15 and Merrell is one of the only companies that make my size for a uniform boot. They are light, breath good and I have had lots of positive comments about them. However, the rubber squeaks loudly.

I would leave 2.5 stars if it allowed me, because the right boot is fine. There something wrong with the left boot. I don't think it was shaped correctly during construction. There's something on the left side towards the back of the boot that's putting pressure on my foot. I can't figure it out and put it down to the boot being misshaped. I had to buy more comfortable insoles and cut away part of them to have any type of relief, but it's still not totally comfortable. I'm not very happy with my purchase, since this product was highly recommended by a family member.

Unfortunately, the right shoe has a hump in it at the ball of my foot. Makes walking uncomfortable.

Probably the most comfortable boot I've ever worn but it took about 3 months of wearing these and they started to fall apart. Very disappointed. Heard great things about Merrell but these didn't hold up.

I got a pair of these from REI for hiking and then daily use. They were great for about three months, then they started hurting and pinching my feet and arches. I got another pair of the same thing from Zappos, but they hurt my feet too. I got new insoles for both pairs from Merrell (trying different insoles for each pair), but both pair still hurt. The new pair hurts just to wear while sitting. Ultimate shoe fail.

I first bought a pair prior to going up Snowden and absolutely loved them, unfortunately after a short while whilst lacing them up the top eyelet came off, I contacted Merrell and they replaced them, the second pair unfortunately split along the wall where your toes bend, again these where replaced, unfortunately the third pair have now got an issue where the sole has come detached on the left boot. It is such a shame that there are quality issues, however the customer service has been wonderful.

The souls are not as comfortable on the inside of the shoes As to the more expensive brand of Merrell are., And for some reason they came in a larger width size when we order a regular size..

I loved this when I first got them. But as time went by (and summer came) I realized that these boots had some serious drawbacks. The first issue was that they are like wearing puffy marshmallows; it's great in winter, but there's really no ventilation and during the summer months my feet got annoyingly sweaty and hot. Later on in the year I started to notice that my right knee was starting to ache. I thought it was just something wrong with me until it got so bad I finally just stopped wearing them. (I was doing all sorts of stretches and other exercise to try to mitigate the pain) I felt better literally the next day, and I haven't worn them since. So to recap, they are comfy and puffy and warm, but terrible for hot weather and (might just) make your knees hurt.

I ordered theses on October of '19, after previously wearing out a pair of low top Moab Ventilators. The old shoe was great, these, nope! Theses have seen very light use and have never felt/performed as good as the low tops, and now I see the heel on the right boot is seperating.

No property purchase these again are the shelf life is only 4 months... I bought in about 10 pairs of Merrell Moab 2 waterproof s' to seem indestructible soul is destroyed before boot comes on clue unlike the ventilator which is lighter and not as terrible but it is a summer haacker which has a lot to do with it I just wish the soul would not come unglued as fast and yes I will probably buy two pairs that way when one Cooks out after two months I can still have a pair.. great hiking boot only problem Soul comes unglued very quickly compared to other Merrill products

I've taking over 5 years off of merrell shoes and forgot why! I remembered I was unhappy with their quality for some reason and for me being a big guy trail smasher I just thought the soles didn't last. So, i decided to give the MOAD another whirl for local trails around Anchorage AK. Not even three hikes in and three weeks later I go to lace them up and a cloth loop pops right out and the light bulb turned on! This has happened before more then once and I can't believe it! I went straight back to the shop and exchanged them for another higher end brand! I figured this review was completely necessary given my 15 years of experience popping out merrell loop holes.

This shoe has a weird design. I would have really liked the hiking boots but the arch support on the sole felt elevated on the medial aspect causing my foot to feel like it wasn't flat when walking. It felt uncomfortable and I think could cause problems on long hiking trips which is why the reason I bought them.

Your boots were great until I realized that my pinky toe was exposed. Also noticed that both sides of the toe area were ripping into holes. The Vibram outer sole is still good with plenty of rubber, and the arch shank gave good support. I ride a motorcycle and work in a coffee farm. I bought these boots on the recommendation from a soldier in Afghanistan or Iraq. I am sad to say that I have lost my confidence in this pair of boots.

When I first heard about this boot from numerous references, I was very excited. I tried them on and was very surprised how comfortable they are and how little breaking they required. But, the "waterproof" stamp should be taken with a grain of salt. I wore them in rain in Seattle and within 10 min they started leaking from the toe and then continued around the seams. If it was one boot then I wouldn't have been upset and would have understood manufacturing mishaps happen, but both boots simultaneously started leaking and I had to continue my work day with cold wet feet. I called a few friends who have the same model boot and all of them said similar experiences with the waterproofing. Somewhat makes me question if I should get the boots replaced with the same kind or go with another brand. Thankfully Merrell has a warranty which is nice but still I don't want to keep cycling them out. I want boots that will last longer than a month of owning them..
