This is for Gamma LT Mens Small - Regular inseam.
i am 5'8" 140lb slim guy and usually in between xsmall and small (29").
xs was too tight (on the butt) and small is too roomy on the waist (only, thigh and butt are okay) and the inseam is way too long - I have to fold twice but then i cannot use adjustable pant cuff drawcord.
I am not a big fan of the hook belt Arcteryx uses for many different models of pants - prefer the waist adjustment using velcro band like OR's Cirque softshell.
I enjoy the thigh pocket for my phone and hand pockets are roomy and deep enough and zippered.

I ordered first a Gamma AR, size L, but it was too big for me. I tried the size M on Barrabes Benasque and it was perfect, just AR was too warm for Pyrinees, so I decided to go for the LT. That was before my wedding, because when I ordered them was just after my honeymoon. I had gained some kgs that I lost after some weeks, but even tough they were confortable. Very breathable and in my opinion nice look. I used them once on summer and as it was a hard day I washed them, normal.
They second time I used them, it was on a terrible ski day. The lift was wet with snow and I seated over snow, so the water came directly into my underwear. Unconfortable situation, but ok I guess I cannot put out a star because of that, because I think it was not the correct use, the day was too harsh.
When I used them with low temperatures, around 0C and windy, they were ok, maybe with base layer would have been better, but ok.
In other ocasion, I used it on a rainy day, and it also what was described on another review, the pants absob a lot of water. I will try to reapply the DWR treatment, just to see if it get better.
In conclussion, very good trouser when the weather is good. If it rains, they can be a problem. Make sure your DWR works good, otherwise it can lead to unconfortable situations. For the summer on the Pyrinees perfect, for glacier and harder situations maybe not adequate.

I just received these pants. Good construction. Fits well too (I ordered Medium which fits me with a 34" waist and 30" inseam at 170 lbs.).
I ordered mainly because of good reviews in wet weather. Not completely waterproof of course but a good fallback especially when traveling in other countries during the rainy season.
However, care is needed to maintain the DWR characteristics.

I bought these for hiking in light drizzle or dewy mornings when Gore Tex pants are complete overkill but other materials will soak through and stay wet. I've even worn them for wet wading in the summer and they don't get too heavy when soaked to the knee. The mesh pockets provide a bit of venting if you leave the zippers open on a hot day and they do have a little wind resistance. I've also worn these on colder days with merino long johns underneath and found they're good (for me) to about -10C as long as I'm moving.
Washing them with tech wash will help the water repellency, though after a couple years mine don't quite bead as well as they used to. On the subject of washing, I have one pair of these in black and one in grey. The reason I only gave them 4 stars is they can stain fairly easily with sap and that sort of thing. With the black ones it doesn't show, but with the grey ones it does. I've tried all sorts of things to clean the grey ones - soaking, stain removers, toothbrush, etc. - but the stains remain. I prefer the look of the grey colour, but if I had to do it again I'd just stick with one pair of the black ones. So four stars for grey, but five stars for black.

One of my favorite Arcteryx products. On cool fall days they're great hiking pants, with good wind-, water-, and abrasion-resistance. They also breathe well and dry very fast. They don't seem to pick up stains or dirt very easily and the zippered pockets keep things like wallet/passport secure, so they're great for travelling. But mostly I just love the silky feel and relaxed stretch when I pull them on.
I'm 6'0" and I prefer XL for a more relaxed fit.

Very nice pants as described by other reviewers. However, what's the deal with no zipper pulls? The zipper tabs are extremely small and are hard to grab onto when your fingers are chilly or when wearing gloves. One other suggestion would be to add a back pocket. Every multi use pant should have a back pocket. Other than that, these puppies are bomb proof. Durable and tight woven fabric.

I've been a big fan of the Gamma LT pants through the years, and have gotten good utility out of them in the field for days at the crag rock climbing (except on the hottest of days), and also used for alpine mountaineering during spring and summer seasons. The primary change from the revision is the relaxed fit that really is noticeable as being much wider from the knee down. I don't like this in the context of mountaineering as they're much easier to snag on a crampon, and they bunch excessively under hardshell pants when weather is harsh. Also when rock climbing I personally don't like excess material getting in the way of visualizing foot holds and subsequent placement. Overall they're still good, but in my opinion, no longer the pinnacle of climbing pants.

I've had a few of these pants over the years. They are stretchy and comfortable for all things climbing, and I use them a lot guiding in Squamish. They can run a little hot on the hottest days, but generally they're a good weight for rock climbing.
It seems there's been an update recently. I appreciate that the fastener has been updated, and now operates issue-free. An update that I'm NOT stoked on is that the fabric seems to be lighter than it used to be. A new pair that I bought this summer already has a few holes on the leg and the butt, and I haven't even been doing any really rough chimney or offwidth climbing in them. Compare that to my previous pair, which I've had for a few years and don't have any holes in them at all. They seem to run a bit cooler than the last pair (maybe that's the fabric, or they are a lighter colour too), but it's not worth the holes I've put into them.
Lastly I'll add that the khaki colour has gotten pretty stained pretty quickly, and I would stick to a darker colour if you want to keep them from looking dirty.

Had these for a while. 70 y/o long walks out back, day hikes, daily use.
Need to address the front zipper. A while ago they stated making their front zippers a bit shorter. My experience with arcteryx goes back many years so I have a frame of reference. I suspect there was a design reason. However they neglected to consider the consequences. On these pants when you go to use the front zipper the snap, which is weak at best, pops open. It's a bit of a struggle. They never considered this.
The other design flaw are the 2 thigh pockets. Since the front pocket is very deep the thigh pockets are deep as well. They are also wide. When I put my cell in it turns sideways, sinks to the bottom, and wedges in. I have to bend at the knee and reach down to my knee to pull it out .
If you are willing to put up with these faults then buy them of course they are exceptionally well made.

It's great to use 'cool' names to represent the different colour schemes you have - so when I bought these pants & baseball cap in "canvas (30022)" I made the school boy error of expecting them to actually be the same colour

Amazing Pants. I use these pants a lot. I got two pairs of the Gamma LT and one pair of the Gamma MX pants in 2016 to hike in Ireland in. They were perfect for what I wanted to use them for. Amazing to travel in on long plane rides too. The only con is durability which is why I can't give this product like I can with Gamma MX pants 5 stars. The pocket zippers (see picture) on the Gamma LT seem to be the weakest part of the pants. My Gamma MX pants are simply bulletproof unlike the Gamma LT. I wish this pocket area was a little more reinforced because the area is starting to give on my second pair now too and these pants are perfect for hiking in warmer weather areas.

Super comfortable, I can wear them for outdoors, work, casual ... almost everywhere. I'm 6'5", 200lbs, Large/Long fits quite well. However, the left pocket got teared gradually by itself after 9 month, now it's almost fell apart. Maybe because I'm wearing it too often, for super comfortable, again. I'll pick another one when next sale anyway.

These seem like great pants. But even in the S size, the waist was too big for me, and I had to return them. I generally take a size 30 waist in most pants.
Please make these in an XS waist size, so I can buy them!

I initially liked these pants a lot. The durability, stretch, fit and water repellency were great. I wore them a few times and washed them once - in cold water and hung them up to air dry. Since then, they absorb water like a sponge very quickly. Any amount of water that touches the pants is absorbed. Th initial water repellent quality was one of my favorite things about this pant and now it is gone completely. They do however dry remarkably fast and are still very durable for light weight material. Judging on other reviews, they seem to be generally a very water repellent pant maybe I got an exception. I would not hesitate to.purchase again at full retail if I could have them stay as they were on day one for a while.

I bought these as a supplemental pair to my Sigma FL pants, which seem to have been discontinued/merged with this cheaper version. The Sigma pant had a more athletic fit, which is what I was looking for in an alpine climbing/mountaineering pant; the previous iteration also feels far more durable than these. I'd recommend these pants for general hiking and walking around town.

I own couple of LT pants and love the fit and finish, everything about it. The recent design updates dissapointed me greatly in three areas.
- The fit is too loose now, especially the lower leg. It lost Gamma LT's signature look & feel.
- Updated snap button closure is too weak and doesn't make an assuring "snap". Very annoying.
- Material feels thinner, cheaper and makes crinkle noise.
Not sure why Arc'teryx tries to update their design when it is not necessary. I am returning it.

The fit, finish and material of these pants are a 10 out of 10 every day. In particular the fit is amazing, equal to the fit of a hand custom tailored suit.
There are some flaws though.
~Could really use one simple back pocket.
~The belt will not stay together for me. I'm working on a fix.
~The fly is my real gripe. A 4.5 inch zipper on a pair of pants in this price range is completely Unsat. Even my cheapest pair of shorts have a full 7 inch zipper. Short zippers are super annoying if you happen to be tall. The result is I have to totally drop trou just to take a leak. For that one reason I will not be buying these again unless or until they fix it. Too bad because they are awesome other than that.

Size medium waist is huge. Built in belt includes soft elastic. Pants are very large and baggy around waist. Pockets somewhat shallow relative to zipper and therefore things kept in pockets if unzipped will fall out. Fabric is nice, stretchy and resists water. Probably give them 2.5 stars out of 5 but average down for high cost and warranty skeptism (based on experiences with other items).

I am 5'9" and puurched at a Small short after double checking my measurements several times, my waist measures 31.5 inches (I did it three times) so I went with the small which is supposed to have a 32 inch waist, apron arrival the waist is huge, like several inches to big, so I'll be returning these hopefully the XS fits. I never knew I was so petite. The length is also several inches long, we'll see if this changes with the XSS. For reference I'm usually a medium or small with other companies.

Having wore them now on more than one occasion, I'm dissapointed to actually find out that the fabric is really itchy. Great looking pant but becoming a bug bare when I know that they ultimately really are not that comfortable. Shame.

Given the investment in dollars and usage time you want something that fits just right. I found the medium tall too restrictive and the large a little baggy. Other manufactures let you order by waist and inseam.
I've used them for standing around on snow for 3 hours for a night photography shoot and for a 5 hour hike in the snow. The results were outstanding. I stayed warm and dry and did not feel dampness/sweat. I was wearing gators on the hike, so the bottoms were protected from the 6 inch deep snow.
I would like a larger pockets, and a few more pockets. And I wish they fit better.
