I’m a size 8 US in most shoes if I want them to fit like a glove, but I get an 8.5 if I want them to be a little bigger to fit thicker socks. I usually wear a size 38 EU for a snug fit and 39 EU for a slightly roomier fit. I got a size 9 US in these, and they’re the right fit! I want to be able to wear thick socks with them in winter but I don’t want them to be so big I can’t wear them with regular socks in fall/spring, and it feels like I got it right! The top of the boot (the part over my arch) is a little tight. I saw that other reviewers complained about this. I have a high arch, so this isn’t surprising, and I have a feeling that it will stretch a little. So far, it’s not bothering me. The ankle also looks a little tighter than I would have wanted, but I’m sure with more ons and offs that will stretch, too. I got them this morning (thanks for always being so speedy. Zappos!) and am already wearing them in the rain with dry feet even though they technically aren’t waterproof. I took one star off for “style” because they’re not particularly “fashionable”- but they’re not really supposed to be. I have a pair of Sorel Chelsea boots that I would wear if I wanted a little less of a “rustic” look. I think these would look a little better on my feet if the ankle were looser and/or if the toe box were a little more narrow. I think the toe box won’t look as clunky as the whole boot wears in a little more.

I wear 7.5 womens and ordered the 4.5 per zappos recommendation. They feel about a full size too small. I've reordered the 5.5 and size 6 since the size 6 was recommended based on the measurement I did of my foot. The 6 is the equivalent of a women's 9. I would recommend measuring your foot and then going to blundstone's website to see which size fits you. I don't understand why for some of the smaller sizes there is duplication of the foot measurement. My foot was 9.5 inches so I ordered both the 5.5 and 6. According to the size for 5 and 5.5 those both accomodate a 9.33" foot. Overall, they are cute and well made. Looking forward to getting a pair that fits! (PS, they are made in vietnam - not australia)

I'm a guy with small but wide feet. Finding footwear that fits well is difficult. Boots, damn near impossible. I had been looking at Blundstones for a while and finally decided to try these 587s. I ordered the AU 5.5 which should correspond with a US men's 6. My god I couldn't get my foot into these without some amount of force. And getting them off was quite painful. I had to have a family member pull them off. Boy did it hurt. The opening is way too tight and I didn't really get why it was designed that way. I don't have thick ankles so it was quite unexpected. Didn't bother trying a larger size. This was a big letdown. Remember when buying, the half sizes are not wider than the whole sizes as the Blundstone website suggests. And they are clearly designed for narrow feet.

I am a true 9 in ladies. These are small and way too tight. My feet fell asleep!! I would order a half size up. Too late to return :(

I had blundstone boots years ago, but I gave them away because they were red and I got them on sale and I didn’t wear them much. But I did wear them on a trip overseas to Europe, and they were comfortable for the most part other than one day they felt a little too tight in the toes. Fast forward to this pair of the rustic black. I decided to re-buy the blundstone boots because my idol, the journalist Mariana van zeller, wears them on all of her trips when she’s doing news stories. We are also going to Utah this week, so I wanted a comfortable boot I could walk around in for a long period of time. So received them today, and wore them right out of the box for a mile and a half walk around my neighborhood, this is always my test to see how comfortable a shoe is. I did get a blister between my fourth and fifth toe on my left foot. I am a size 39 and Birkenstock, I normally wear between 8 1/2 and 9 in most shoes, and I usually buy a size 9 in boots to accommodate a sock. I bought these in size 9 1/2, which is Australian size 6 1/2. The Blundstone sizing chart is way off, when I found it online, it said I should buy a size 10 1/2 or something. From reviews, I decided that the 9 1/2 would work. I couldn’t remember what size I bought years ago. The 9 1/2 does fit, but my toes are slightly crammed, and I did take out the insole when I tested them out walking around the block. I did also wear two pairs of socks to prevent a blister on my heel. My foot is exactly 10 inches long, so I hope this helps someone regarding sizing. I am so glad I do not have to return them. I think if I sized up to a 10, it would accommodate my toes better, but I did not want it to be too large or wide or clunky.

This is my 3rd recent pair of Blundstones. I have so much trouble finding shoes/boots that fit my feet so, when I found the great fit of Blundstone, I jumped in full force. I also have the 585 (same boot as these in Rustic Brown) and the 558 (black leather). The 585 and this one fit the same way - a bit more room in the toe box and the length than the 558 in the same size. All are a size 6.5 (9.5 in US). I usually wear a 9 so I sized up a half size for the extra width. So far, I've worn these walking around Manhattan in the cold weather with heavy socks. My feet have never been cold. Initially, I had some rubbing on the top of the boot in the back between my ankle and calf. It went away after about a day of wearing the boots in my home. Have not yet worn them in the rain but I plan to do so.

I did a TON of sizing research before ordering because it seems to be all over the place. I'm regularly a size 7. I ordered size 8.5 (!!!). Here is why: The half size here does not mean it's longer. It means it's WIDER. My foot is a little wider, so I needed the width. As far as the length and what size I ordered, I knew I wanted to wear these with thicker socks, and this accommodates that perfectly. My heel doesn't move around at all with this size as well, and I think if I ordered a 7.5, it would've been way too snug. I'd say if you have a slender/thin/narrow foot, sizing up so large probably isn't necessary. I also ordered a pair of "superfeet" insoles in order to provide maximum support for an upcoming trip. (A lot of this advice has come from the Blundstone subreddit!) I hope this helps anyone looking at what size to order because I totally guessed, but in the end, it worked out well.

Blundstone’s are confusing. I did a ton of research before making this purchase and to be honest - the more research I did, the more confused I felt. I hope my review will help others who feel the same. I’m a consistent women’s size 7.5 in Vans. I originally bought the Blundstone Original 500 Chelsea Boots in black, but they made my feet look freakishly small! I was apprehensive to size up to an 8, never mind an 8.5, but I’m SO glad that I did. I have enough room for thick socks, but can also wear normal socks and still feels comfortable. It doesn’t feel like the boots are sliding up my heel. These boots were comfy straight out of the box and I wore them all afternoon with no problem. I’m also digging the color of these waaay more than I was expecting to. They’re going to be perfect for the chilly New England fall and winter seasons, but I’ll definitely be wearing these year-round. Zappos was great in assisting me with the exchange and the new boots arrived 48h later. I’m super impressed with the quick shipping and return/exchange policy. There aren’t a lot of stores around me that carry multiple styles of Blundstones so I had to wing it with the sizing and was very thankful for the quick shipping.

I usually were an 8 or 81/2 and ordered the matching size. This was to tight particularly over the instep. I returned them and ordered the ladies 9 and found it to be most comfortable. I have worn this boot on a hike, and as a daily boot. I am very pleased with the fit and style.

I normally wear a 7 1/2 and that's what I ordered and it fits true to size. I really like the Rustic Black . It's my first pair of Blundstones . The only mild discomfort are where the back upper flaps rub the back of my leg but I imagine with wear that will stretch out. Overall I'm happy woth look and feel

After trying many pairs of Blundstones (thank you Zappos)...I've finally found my perfect pair! I've worn many Blundstones through the years and it seems lately they are all fitting slightly different, even the color and leather makes them fit a tad different. That being said, this time around I tried many styles, many colors and the 587 seem to be my perfect fit. I am between sizes a 7.5 and 8. After trying both sizes, I decided to go with the 8 to make sure my toes never come in contact with the toe of the boot. I do wear the extra foot bed that is provided with all of the 550 series of Blundstones. It's a nice feature that I hope Blundstone never stops offering. These boots are a beautiful rustic black color which is a slight gray tone. They are stiff when you first put them on, however wearing them around the house they have softened up a bit. Now that I have decided to keep them, I took them outside for my first walk in them and they softened up even more. Very happy with my purchase and always happy with Zappos being so very patient with my purchases and returns while I find my perfect pair of boots!

These are just what I was looking for! I love the rustic black color— they kind of look like a dark grey. Super comfy footbed and true to size. I saw another review mention that the half sizes were for width not length which I found helpful.

I’d been wanting a pair of Blundstone’s for awhile but couldn’t ever afford them. I finally decided to treat myself and bought a pair of the 587’s. I’ve never been so happy about a purchase. These boots were amazing right out of the box, no break-in time, wore them all day without any pain or blisters and still didn’t want to take them off at the end of the day. I can’t say enough about these boots and recommend them to everyone, hands down! If your on the fence or can’t afford them right away, there worth the wait. I’d suggest treating yourself. True to size. Extremely comfortable.

LOVE! Have had these for a coupla years now and they're my faves. I regret not being able to wear them when warmer weather arrives! My "go to"s otherwise. I wear with my custom orthotics thanks to the removable footbed liner and could sleep in them - they're that comfortable. I do wear with thicker [wool] socks because the are a roomy fit. Wish they made this particular style in more fashion forward colors but wouldn't hesitate to repurchase again in the charcoal nubuck if it's still around when I'm ready to =)

I have a narrow foot, and I usually buy 12 for dress shoes and 13 for athletic shoes. I’m probably a true 12.5, but these boots in 12 couldn’t fit any better. The best sign of a shoe purchase is if you actually wear them. These are on my feet whenever I get the chance. Absolutely love them.

I love these boots! I have long, narrow feet with high arches and need to wear custom orthotics. My feet are anywhere from an 8 to a 9 in US women's sizes depending on what shoe I wear. For athletic shoes that can fit my custom orthotics I typically size up to a 9. I bought the equivalent of a US 9 based on reviews I read. I bought these boots to try something that would look cute and withstand long Seattle walks through leaves, puddles, uneven pavement, etc. These met every single requirement! They leave room for your toes to move but give a lot of ankle support. I was very impressed and will keep them. I agree with other reviews that mention that these look best with cropped jeans or skinny jeans. Hope this helps someone!

This was for my daughter who already has a couple of pairs. She absolutely loves them. As for me, I was astounded at the professional customer service of Zappos. They were extremely helpful and patient with me after I got confused and ordered the wrong size TWICE. Once I got the right size but wrong country and the other time the reverse. They couldn't be any nicer or easy to deal with. I've become so jaded about customer service that I almost couldn't believe it. Plus, the joke of the day during the very short hold period. Kudos to you all

Ordered the 6.5 (US mens 7.5/womens 9.5) as I heard the 1/2 sizes were wider. Yup, they fit my wide feet! Enough room for a thick sock if I need it, but perfectly comfy with a regular ole ankle sock. My inner ankle bones hit right at the seam to the elastic gore section and are pretty sore after walking a while, but it's eased with each day of wearing them.

These boots are great. I bought them for a tour of Ireland in November- rainy and slick and chilly. These boots were perfect with a nice pair of warm socks. My feet never hurt- and we walked a ton on all sorts of terrain. I do recommend a size up and I also recommend using boot stretch spray and a thick pair of socks to break them for a day or two. I hope to have this pair for a long time!

My new favorite boots for outdoor walks. Sizing was a bit tricky - I wear a US women's 7.5 in most shoes and an 8 in sneakers. I tried a couple sizes and ended up keeping the 6.5 AU for a wide fit. They are a bit larger than I would like (in length) but the next size down was too small overall. I use both insoles and wear thicker socks to improve the fit.

just a heads up that Australian sizing is different than American in that the half sizes are wider, but not any longer, so if you’re a half size you should size up! I am a US women’s size 8.5, and the size 9 (AUS 6) fits perfectly. They are super comfy right out of the box and surprisingly lightweight! They also come with an extra pair of thinner insoles in case you need a little extra room.

Love these boots - bought a pair here and another at my work where I sell them. When sizing just know that the half sizes are "wide" so for example a size 5.5 is an 8 WIDE. If you wear a size 8.5 in US sizes I recommend buying a size 6. Blundstone has a pack of shims in the box that you can use to fill the volume of the shoe and take up some of the space. Use the shim and place it under the footbed to take up some room in the boot if you need a bit tighter fit. Love these boots and they are comfy and casual!
