Europe for 10 days! I wear a size 10, ordered size 10. I was able to use extremely thick socks with no problem. I have heel/foot pain (plantar fasciitis) and I was fine with these after I added some Dr Scholls squishy memory foam foot beds. I wore these in frigid temperatures in Paris and Italy during January 2018. They were fabulous. I was able to wear tall SmartWool sock liners directly against the skin and then I put super thick socks (Arctic Extreme Thick Thermal Heat Trapping socks that I got on Amazon) on top of the wools socks. My feet usually get super cold so this was perfect for me. There was only one day that my feet got a little swollen and I had to lose the thicker socks for a couple of hours. I was so surprised that absolutely NO breaking in was necessary. I wore them out of the box comfortably. I wore them all day every day, walking miles and miles over cobblestone and all kinds of crazy stairs. I felt very steady, even in the rain and on slippery streets. These boots make your legs look great with skinny jeans tucked into them. Now that I’m home I plan to wear them with thinner leggings and skirts as well. If you’ve ever had Doc Martins, you know that they can be heavy. This particular pair is lightweight but they don’t look cheap. I got several compliments on them.

LOVE these boots. They are so cute and sexy. I love that they look good with dresses or pants, skinny or wide... they go with everything, even yoga paints. (I'm not like a *regular* mom, I'm a *cool* mom. --Mrs. George) I feel like they make me 10 years cooler.

I love these boots! But I will say that I was a bit challengers with purchasing them because I wear a size 9.5 and they don't make half sizes. I sized up, but a 10 was way too big. I think exchanged for a 9 and it was perfect. Thank goodness Zappos has such a great return and exchange policy. And yes, the zipper is my favorite part.

I’ve never worn a pair of Dr.Martens so I wasn’t sure what size to order. I’ve got wide messed up feet. I usually wear a 91/2 just for the extra width a 9 if they are wide shoes. I ordered two pairs because I wasn’t sure. The 9 fit so I sent the 10 back. At first they were a little snug on the width ,but as I started wearing them around the house they started forming to my feet and feel pretty good now. As others have said they’re not a real thick leather but that helps to keep them from being so heavy. I’m glad I got them. I wear them with skinny jeans and under boot cut jeans.

I have been on the search for the perfect pair of tall sexy boots for the past three seasons. Due to the trend of having wide, on fitted caps on tall boots these days, I have not been able to find anything close to my treasured staple pair of vintage Nine West that came to an untimely demise when my foster dog decided to chew the zipper out. I do not like pointed toes and I do appreciate a decent tread on my boots. While in New York City this past weekend I decided to make my way down to Soho to visit the Doc Marten store. This 14 eye pair updox it's certainly not the height that I was looking for, but as other reviewers have stated it is a happy combination of short and tall, hitting right at mid calf. That said, the sexy requirement is indeed covered by these well-made boots, with the side zip and lace combo allowing to create a perfectly tapered fit. It is the standard Doc Martens look, meaning that you will appear to be Street savvy whether you are uncomfortable in the big city or not! The standard Doc Martens tread is perfect for walking on all different types of surfaces and is indeed non-slip. They do feel comfortable as soon as you put them on and adjust the laces to your particular physique, but I have had one spot on the back of my heel that was rubbed by the new leather. I wore them for 9 miles of walking through the city, followed by 6 hours of dancing at MSG and despite that small rub I never got a blister at and my feet/legs and never got tired! You can dress these guys up or dress them down. They fit easily over skinny jeans as well as underneath regular jeans. I personally choose to wear them primarily with skirts with tall socks and they look super hot, if I do say so myself! Worth every penny!

This is my third pair of Doc Martens. They need a little breaking in, are well made and very attractive in black. I am 65+ and often get compliments when I wear these in grey, dark red, and black.

These Rock!!!! I feel like a bad a** in these!! My first pair of docs, I usually wear a 9.5 ordered a 9! Perfect fit I have flat feet, My custom arches fit perfect! They just feel better and better every time I put them on as they break in. I cut hair and stand in these all day at work! They are not heavy! Do yourself a favor and get them!!!!

Love these boots, but they do not stand up to Doc Marten's usual durability. Wore them for 2 fall/winter seasons and the side zipper blew out on one side and is coming loose on the other + the back ankle leather tore. Just brought them in for a $100 repair. I have worn Docs for 25 years—these were disappointing.

Beautiful, soft and comfortable - just as you'd expect from a Dr Marten - but not for those of us with bigger calves. Nothing wrong with the boots - I'd highly recommend if you have normal size calves, but if you're 16" or wider, then the tongue of the boot won't cover your leg behind the laces. A real bummer because the boots were soooOOOOOoo comfortable and hella cute!

Overall Comfortable & I Love The Boot/Style

THe last pair of docs I bought was in 1997 got these they fit great. They could be a tad bit wider so I can fit my pants in my shoes but just the same I’m happy with my purchase. Don’t really have to break them in they fit great and are comfortable

I’ve had these before and after a while of zipping and squeezing pants tucked in the seam split on the zipper area so i needed another pair. Wish the leather was stronger on these but I still love them.

Great comfy lace up boots! This is my first pair of Doc Martens. I usually wear Danskos— I prefer clog style because of the wide toe area (I have bunions) and support. However, I’ve been thinking about black lace up boots for several years and with Zappos great return policy decided to take the plunge and try these out. I love them! It took a little getting used to the bouncy rubber sole, but like Danskos clogs, there was no breaking them in—they were comfortable right out of the box. I’ve gotten SOO MANY compliments on them! I guess because they look so stylish. ? My husband liked them so well, he had to get a similar pair himself and now they’re his favorite too!! After all the reviews about sizing issues, I was a bit concerned, but I typically wear a 9 or a 39 in Danskos, so that’s what I ordered and they fit perfectly.

This boot is so comfortable. The leather is very soft, the zipper is super convenient. Way more comfortable than I remember dr. martens being back in the 80's. My normal size back then used to rub my big toe and now I don't have that problem at all. I don't even think I have to break this pair in, that's how soft and pliable this pair is. <3

Most Dr. Martens run slightly large on me. I wear a US 8 and buy an 8. I love to wear long socks which tend to be on the thicker side which work super well with my boots. Plenty of room for thick socks. If I want to wear some lacy tights, I just put them on over a thinner pair of socks if I feel the boots are too loose. No one sees them and my feet are snug. Usually I don't bother with extra socks and these fit fine. I think going down a size would make them too tight, especially if you like socks! If you wear a 71/2, you would likely be fine with a 7. I love the style and the zipper on the side is just awesome. I have had boots that I had to lace and unlace every time I wore them and this is just super to only have to unzip them! They are very comfortable and I had no problem wearing them right out of the box.

They fit like an awesome glove!! ?? I ordered a pair a few years back, too small hoping they would fit, no go. Then I was just looking for them again. They were here, my size, couldn’t be happier & next business day shipping, fantastic! I’ve always loved Doc Martens & these didn’t need broke in ??

I have a bit of a thick foot, so the other reviews regarding the tightness at the top of the foot worried me. I returned another pair of Docs for this reason. Thankfully, the inside of the boot there is smooth and flat. Once your foot is in there, the leather is really forgiving. The leather is nice and soft. These fit great right away. Love them.

Love! Based on a review I read, I got these boots and they are in fact quite 'broken in' feeling already. I didn't realize when I bought that they were zip up so this is an extra perk! Fits great. Sized down one half. Usually wear 8.5 but 8 is great with Doc Martens.

The boot is dope, I just can’t wish the quality was a little better. The cheap ass metal used to make the zipper piece you pull up snapped off after a few uses so that’s a bummer and now I have 180$ boots and a paper clip in place of the zipper piece.

Fit as expected. Lighter weight leather (but still nice), so didn't need the break in period most Dr Martens require. Overall, the shoe is lighter in weight than usual for this brand, which I think makes them more wearable

I love these boots. It’s been awhile since I had some docs and these are fabulous! Comfy and stylish.

Well made boot I am a half size and the length was good little tight as I have a wide foot. The leather feel was nice

I got 7's, usually I'm a 7.5 or 8. The 7 fits well.

Dr. Martens are the best! You can wear them all day in comfort. I own three different styles. I truly recommend these fabulous boots! Zappos is my go to for all of my shoes and boots.

These are beautiful,well made boots.I love the style and the leather is soft.They were too wide for me even with heavy socks. I have a narrow foot,so finding shoes that fit is really hit and miss.
