Great coat well made. Im 5'8 and 135lbs the small is too bulky. Have lots of other arcteryx clothing and the fit is off on this one. Worn it in -45C and was warm when layered with cerium lt and a merino base layer. Don't spend too much time in those temps maybe half hour total but stayed warm the whole time.

First off, I'd like to commend Arc'teryx for designing and developing what is an ALMOST near perfect parka in the Therme. I received my Therme last week and am a HUGE fan, however feel that there are a issues that need to be looked into in an effort to improve the Therme in the future: 1. The Therme hood and top collar are way too large and allow in too much cold air regardless of whether the hood is up or down. Its also worth noting that people purchasing the Theme parka will likely not need enough room in the hood for a helmet. 2. The Therme could really benefit from waist level elastic closure to prevent wind from blowing up into the parka. 3. Love the flat sleeve and interior seals in the sleeves of the Therme, although think the seals should be lower in the sleeve to make it easier to wear a sweater or dress shirt without the sleeves bunching up. 4. I'm rather tall (6ft, 4in) average build and find a large perfect for my height, but a tad roomy. Would be great to trim the width of the Therme for a snugger fit. Thanks for your time!

This is an excellent everyday winter jacket. I am 5'9", 185 and a Medium fits very well with room to layer. Pros: - Very warm down and coreloft combo. Have been comfotable at -10C in a light base layer while walking outside. A sweater takes you to -15C without issue. Its too warm above 0C with anything more than a short sleeve shirt. - The Goretex shell is bomber, but not too stiff or 'loud'. - The inner lining is soft and comfortable against a t-shirt. - The armholes are not too high (hate when it is too tight against the armpit). - Sleek and modern cut. This takes me to my business-casual work environment, out on the town, shoveling snow and walking the dog without issue. Not recommended for skiing, mountain climbing or anything 'technical'. Cons: - Hood is warm, but not as functional as it should be. It needs to cover more of my forehead and tends to ride up. Wearing a beanie/touque solves this. Canada Goose has better hoods (without the stupid fur). - The zipper flap needs a button closure at or around the waist area. Without this additonal closure, the flap tends to be open at my stomach and lets in wind. Not ideal. - The neck is big. Its manageable, but when zipped up, its not a snug enough fit and wind can get it. A scarf solves this problem easily. Weighing the Pros and Cons, this is a true 4/5 rating. I am very happy with my purchase, even with the stated shortcomings. I tried many different options and the Therme was most well rounded winter jacket in my hunt.

Not too many down jacket in the market is waterproof and windproof and here is one from Arcteryx! Pretty much wear it everyday during winter time. Stylish looking. Only down side is the zipper design make it very difficult to "hold" at the bottom.

Great coat. but getting in and out of vehicles I have popped the lower part of the zipper. It would be great if it had a 2 way zipper installed

I'm 1,82 cm, 72 kg and bought a size small. Length of the arms and the jacket itself is fine for me, doesn't have to be longer. I haven't worn the jacket in the rain yet nor the hood. But on the bike it feels very comfortable even with a backpack on. Although, for a more modern look, I would like the fit to be more slim. The jacket is warm enough itself and for me layering is not necessary. I would recommend making a slim fit version and cutting back the weight even more by doing so.

The therme parka Is the perfect fit. I am 6 foot one 190 pounds with long arms, I love that this offers a fit for an athletic person. The Warmth of the coat is great. The Style is great, The features are good. However, the zipper on this therme parka sometimes takes me 3 to 5 minutes to sort out. As you can see from other reviews this is a common issue. how Arc'teryx can charge such a premium and put out a product with a fatal flaw like this is beyond me. For this reason, I have no choice but to not recommend this parka.

I have had this for a couple of years now and when I purchased this I genuinely thought it would be a coat that would last me for 20 years. Don't get me wrong, this may still be a coat I have in 20 years but it is hard not to ignore the few quite significant issues with this coat. Firstly, is it warm? Compared to other more insulated and lightweight jackets this is not as warm. Yes, there is insulation but it's not thick and bouncy. However, we do need to take into account that this is a waterproof jacket with more of an urban look with some insulation rather than an out and out insulated jacket. That said, when I am standing still 'on duty' I need multiple layers underneath and this is when it's not even in negative temperatures. The pockets are small. So small that it is a struggle to fit gloves in and the chest outer pocket will fit an iPhone but would struggle to fit one of the larger sized phones. Again, when standing around in the cold it would be great to bury my hands in warm pockets but they sit shallow. And finally, the neck area with the hood down is just a draught magnet. This is a nightmare on cold day and necessitates a scarf. This is hard wearing and rain won't get through but I feel that warmth has been sacrificed for a 'look'.

It is the best winter jacket I have ever owned. It's warm and comfortable. Easy to move around in and it'll keep you warm with just a t-shirt under. I have worn from 5 degrees Celcius to -10 without freezing or being too warm. The minus though, is that after approx. three years the zip hanger broke, and there are some color differences in the outer layer. I have not been hard on it, it has been for everyday/city usage. Currently it is send in to Arcteryx to investigate whether it is under warranty or not. I would say, that I had hoped that it would last longer than 3 years for the prize point and hopefully it is a construction/goretex problem which is covered.

Ordered this jacket recently from another retailer and was really impressed with the look, style, and weight. I am someone who gets cold very easily and needed something to keep me extra warm during our Canadian winters. The only time I wore it was to work one day when it was 6C and windy. Decided to spend my lunch and breaks outside. Even though I wasn't cold, I was just on the edge of being there. For me, I doubted that it would work in sub zero temps without some serious layering underneath. Because of the size I ordered, I wouldn't have been able to do this. Too bad because it is a great looking jacket. Regretfully I had to return it. I will be ordering the Fission SV jacket with hopes that it will work better for me. I know that everyone reacts to temperature differently, so it might work for you. Certainly not for me. Another thing that the other reviews didn't mention is that the outer shell attracts pet hair and lint like crazy. I had to spend about 20 minutes going over it with a lint roller before I sent it back. That was from just hanging in my closet. Overall, I think it will work for some people, just not me.

Overall I really like this jacket. It the warmest, most comfortable and best looking down jacket I've owned. The one problem is that the hood adjustments don't hold, it seems that the drawstring is too thin compared to the drawstring locks. After adjusting the hood, the drawstring slides back to its original position within minutes. This can be quite annoying when cycling. Otherwise, I would have given a 5 star review.

Jacket feels amazing, the sizing seems a bit large, but that's expected for a winter coat meant for layering. Perfect length for someone 180cm tall. Small size was good, and I weight around 150lb (70kg). Unfortunately I cannot recommend this jacket due to its many shortcomings. I wore the jacket for a few days with weather from -7c to -10c. The jacket kept most of my body warm, with the exception of my neck and face, which would get really cold after about 10min. Note that there was almost no wind during these days, and I was wearing a winter beanie, but no scarf. If you wear the hood up, all it does is to direct all the cold to the inside the jacket, as the hood is too large and the collar doesn't wrap around the front of the neck. Wearing the hood down, this isn't so much of an issue, as the opening for the neck gets pulled back by the hood a bit, closing the big gap. The front zipper for this jacket is missing a proper wind flap, where as other jackets, such as the Thorsen, also have a flap behind the zipper. However, I consider the Thorsen to be too long for my height. One way to alleviate some of the issues I encountered would be to wear a big scarf to close the gap around the collar and to keep it hanging in front to guard against any wind that comes through the front zipper. But I do not like that idea very much, as it adds weight and bulk when not wearing the jacket (think walking inside a shopping place). If you are willing to live with these shortcomings, and don't mind your face and neck freezing without a scarf, then go for it. Otherwise look elsewhere.

Starting with what's right: this parka is warm, comfortable, and looks stunning. Hood is the right size, zippers glide smoothly, and the elastic cuffs inside the sleeves are wonderful. But the pockets are a critical detail that Arc'teryx missed on this winter coat. First, there are no internal or external large drop pockets for a scarf, hat, or gloves. Second, the hand pockets are very small. I have normal hands (I think) and if I put my hand all the way in the pocket up to my wrist, I have to ball my hand into a fist for it to fit. Last, the microfiber fleece inside the hand pockets is only on the palm side. This means that my fist touches the nice soft fleece, while my chapped knuckles rub on the shell fabric on the shell side of the fabric. Not sure why the whole pocket wouldn't be fleece. Again, smart looking jacket, but pockets on a parka are a detail that should be thought through on a $700 cost.

I really wanted to buy this jacket. It's sleek, external fabric is textured and soft with nice feel. Goretex weatherproof as Arcteryx is known for. But I can't do it. The Canada Goose fusion jacket fits so much better. Even though it's a bit too flashy, not nearly as weather proof.

After humming and hawing about buying this jacket, reading every single review about the jacket and measuring my arms, chest and waist i decided to pull the trigger on it. I am 6'2, 210lbs athletic build and went with the Large size. It did not fit great. The arms were too short and it looked like i was wearing a skirt. I understand that the cut is suppose to be longer but this was looong. I can see it being an awesome jacket if some slight changes were made, but also i just don't think i like the " city " style of it? If you are from the city, pull the trigger. If you are a small town guy, don't, you'll look like an idiot.

For the price I think you could find something a bit better with regards to quality. Foremost, I purchased an XS in Dark Moss. Great colour and the jacket holds up in the cold. Granted I've only taken it out in 20 degree weather in NYC so it hasn't been through anything more extreme than that so far. Additionally, the waterproof element is solid. However, that being said, after wearing it out on the first day you can see some sort of white residue under the seams in the cuffs. Second, after the first hour of wearing the jacket there were already feathers coming through the baffles. I realize its a 750 fill so that is bound to happen over time but I didn't think that it would be immediate. Finally, the hood is constructed in such a way that the back bungee slides open and you constantly have to re-cinch it. Overall, I wanted to like this jacket but I'd probably just spend the extra money and pick up something from the Veilance line instead. I do own the Monitor Down Coat for reference. Note: This might be a lemon out of the bunch but this is what I'm basing my review on.
