This is a very good shoe. It seemed to me that the shoe size between 12 and 13 was more than one size different. The 12 was too small and the 13 is overly large.

Third pair......all have had lining failures.....i.e. early and substantial wear at heel area..worn completely through in a matter of weeks...no extreme usage...hope they improve quality of deer skin lining....other wise a very good shoe.....PS

The shoe feels great, looks great, almost no breakin period. Deerskin lining is supremely smooth to the skin. Nice! My only concern is that, like one reviewer mentioned, the sole is just starting to unglue in the front. I would definitely not expect that in a shoe at this price.

Nice shoes, love them, but the insole is attached to the shoe by velcro, and when you wear them, you can actually feel the spots where the velcro pieces are. Otherwise, the shoes are perfect. I bought new insoles to correct this issue, but for gold line, should not be the case.

This is a more substantial shoe than the usual Top-Sider. It has a double thick welt, a full lining and a composite sole. It is also considerably more expensive than the usual Top-Sider. I have been searching for years for a replacement for my favorite style, which sadly has been discontinued. That style was the "Kudo" which was similar to the original Top-Sider but had a thicker sole and used a heavier leather for the upper. This model frankly is more shoe than I was looking for and probably too expensive for what it offers.

I have asked Sperry to make a black Gold Cup boat shoe in wide for years. They finally make a Black Gold Cup and they only have it available in Medium. AAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH. Why not make this black one available in wide like the amaretto and cognac versions????????

Unfortunately, this is not made as they did in the past. Shoelaces broke after a few wearings, and they cannot be changed they way the are now made. Returning to buy a different model.

This gold cups are not as comfortable as the previous version, even tho the color is nicer and you also get two options tan and dark brown, the rear padding is not good, I got blisters on both my ankles the first time I wore them. You need full socks with this.

The current Gold Cup is not as comfortable as prev versions. These shoes look nice, but the support and comfort are not inline with the previous discontinued model. Please bring back the discontinued version.

This is the second time I've purchased this Sperry style. First pair were comfortable and held-up extremely well for 5+ years of steady use. (I'd still be wearing them had one shoe not been stolen off front porch by coyote!) I didn't hesitate replacing with similar pair. Unfortunately, the two ply soles are separating around their leading edges. I've periodically repaired (successfully) with rubber cement, but this should not be required and was not an issue with prior pair which had same construction. While I love the shoe, the drop in quality will make me hesitate to repurchase, again, in future.

A little too dark. Bring back the three eye gold cup in the standard brown color. Add lime green stitching on back heel, bottom and liner.

Not as comfortable as top siders. Rawhide laces tore in the first month. I should have stayed with my reliable top siders.

This is a nice looking, sturdy shoe, but the top of the heel and the edges are hard and too firm resulting in heel blisters and rubbing at the ankle. I thought I ordered this style before where that part of the shoe was padded. In this style it is not padded.

I have purchased this style Gold Cup for about 8 years now. This was the worst year to get it (2109). They replaced the inserts with a new red material and thinner leather on the insert. The result is red cushion that comes apart to reduce cushion and a leather that sticks to the bottom of your feet. Thus you can't pull out your foot without the insert coming with your foot. I find myself wearing the earlier version more than this version due to these issues. Hopefully that is fixed quickly.

Men's Gold Cup Boat Shoe w/ ASV are the worst shoe I have purchased They ARE NOT comfortable for all day wear. Had to buy inserts for additional comfort. Looks are deceiving. I would not recommend this show.

I have been a wearer of the Gold Cup 2-eye Boat Shoe with amaretto leather for over ten (10) years. Each of the first 2 pairs I purchased lasted in excess of three (3) years. These were exemplary shoes. However, the latest pair was purchased about two (2) years ago. In fact, before this latest pair were worn for less than one (1) year. Sperry was good enough to replace them under warranty/customer satisfaction. Now after a bit more than a year, this pair has the rivets popping out as the pair these replaced did. The soles are delaminating at the toes. The heel counters and back stays have broken down. The arch support is non-existant. The insoles have no loft any longer. Finally the removable foot liners no longer have anything to hold them in place. The original design and construction overcame all of these current shortcomings.

We had to buy Protalus inserts for comfort. I would not recommend this shoe, and its over priced. "Pretty is as pretty does".

The sole separated while I was on a vacation. I had read this was an issue and was told it had been addressed. Not so... This is my fourth pair. No problem with first 3 other than they wear out fast in every day use.

These are way overpriced. I have worn Sperry shoes for years, like over 30, and I had thought I could avoid the cheap low end shoes they make now by buying these. But for the price, I expected that these would fit accurately, and have some support. Nope, nada. And who really cares whether they gold plate the eyelets? As for whether they last, I did not keep them long enough. One trip around the inside of the house an back to Zappos they went.

I own two pairs of the Sperry TopSider Gold Boat w/ASV. The leather of the lighter color almost has the texture of a football or basketball. The Darker color is also nice. My main issue with these shoes are how they wear in. The top side leather develops ugly crinkles and waves in the leather. Not acceptable for this price point.

Have worn this pair of shoes for 2 years, very comfortable and anti-slippery is a big plus during the raining season. However, one sole was detached days ago, feel little bit disappointed with Sperry quality.

I ordered as replacement for similar 3 yr old Sperry Gold Cup shoe which is among the most comfortable I have ever worn but aged out as heel had worn down. Unlike the similar old shoe, the red dots in the inserts press on the ball and heel of my foot and are very uncomfortable. I am very disappointed to have to return these shoes.

i got my first STS about 30 years ago. Oily leather boatshoes. Super! Sailed the Azores, yeomancup, Fastnet amongst other races.... The best shoe i ever come across. Bought in London. Since two years this shoe. Looks shiny and bright, but its no good. The sole comes of the top. The inner sticks to the bare foot. Its a total misfit. Please please make that old oilyleathered boot once more! Yours truly Kenneth vanzyl Holland
