Nice looking... that's about it. Just received this bag and I'm turning it around and sending it back. What a disappointment. No doubt, this bag looks cool... but for the price, I absolutely would have expected a more durable bag. Some other reviews will say it's durable, but trust me, it won't last. The inside material is even worse than the outside. I am trying to replace an old Clive backpack that would still last for awhile, but I've had it for 10 years and need a change. The material they used back then was way better and I'm going to have to do a lot more homework and research before I figure out what I want. If you aren't a heavy user, go for it... but if you are a road warrior like I am (I travel by plane weekly for work)... save your money and buy two of some cheaper bag. Also, I don't think there are enough pockets for small things like keys, gum, chapstick, etc... You'll end up losing your small stuff somewhere. The sunglass pocket on top would probably protect your shades, but I wouldn't leave my $100+ glasses in there... and the outside attracts lint like a dust rag. SERIOUSLY, save your money!

Wow. I had been searching for a backpack that I liked for months. This one caught my eye, I looked at the specs and I knew I had to have it. I really needed one that would carry my 17 Unibody Macbook Pro, and this did the job. Pros: Solid construction. Lots of metal; more for aesthetics than functionality. The metal clips are really cool. Tons of space; I am the type to load my backpack up with a survival kit. The looks; back to the metal, this is the coolest looking backpack I've ever had. Extras; all the metal on the backpack means it's good for clipping things (like a flashlight) on the outside. Cons: Loading; the top flap makes loading the backpack a little painful, you have to hold the flap open when loading it. In addition, though there is room, it takes a *little* bit of effort to put a 17" notebook into the notebook section, there's a divider there and the zipper blocks some of it off. Overall, this is a great backpack. The cons are small, and won't stop me from rating it at 5 stars all around. This is really the best backpack I've ever used.

Kitchen Sink And Zappos Rock! I just made a trip to the West Coast from North Carolina and used my new Kitchen Sink for the first time! The storage compartments were amazing and I was able to care a large laptop, ac adapter, camera, several notebooks, address book, hats, light jacket, snacks, water bottle, sunglasses, iPod, mobile phone, large Bible, and still could have put MORE stuff in it. It was easy to carry with the shoulder straps and waist band and I got through the airports security checks easily by simply pulling the laptop out the side zipper. If I had not had to carry clothes for several days, a skateboard, wheels, and tools, I could have easily done with just this one bag. I can see that this is going to be a universal choice for me for a variety of travel, hiking, and other activities. I commute each day with a Oakley AP Sandbag either on a longboard, skateboard, or bicycle and that bag is great, but I can see when I have a larger load, the Oakley Kitchen Sink will be the bag of choice. I replaced an Oakley Icon bag that was 10 years old and finally gave up the ghost with this pack and I am very glad I went big with my choice. ZAPPOS customer service rocks, too! I had to get this bag in a hurry and the website said they only had 3 in stock. I called in my order and Christie took care of me very professionally and very pleasantly. I even got a thank you note! That is CRAZY, but greatly appreciated!

What a great backpack! I have a Dell XPS 17 with the extended battery and it fits into the backpack snugly but I like that it is not getting bounced around. I can't use the easy access zipper to get to my laptop but that is not an issue for me. The waist strap is removable which was not something I knew about before I got it. The look is very different and I have been surprised at how many comments I receive about it. When the shoulder straps have been properly adjusted to fit I barely feel the weight of everything I am carrying. I would highly suggest this backpack to anyone that has many things to take with them and wants a comfortable backpack to do it with.

Yeah the way the lid works can be annoying at times, but it stays closed and keeps items in there secure (great for glasses), it is something I've just become used to and hasn't in any way diminished how happy I've been with this pack. Have had this for about 6 months now and have taken it on business trips and on vacations. Very comfortable no matter what I am carrying, and the laptop compartment is convenient (especially the zipper). Recommend to anyone who is looking for a terrific all-purpose pack.

Great Quality! First of all let me start by saying that Zappos exudes the best customer oriented business bar none. I ordered my Oakley bag free of shipping at 3:00pm PT and received it the very next day!!! Their service is the best I have ever encountered. As far as the bag, the quality of construction and compartmental space is the best I have owned, or seen ever. I have a 17" laptop that fits perfect and with unbelievable space to spare, highly recommended.

Great gift for teenager - Got this for my 16 year old son and he immediately loved it. Looks cool and it holds everything he needs for school and more. I wanted something that would last and take him through college and this fits the bill.

Tech Geek's and Urban Warrior perfect backpack - I love this backpack. I just got it today and it holds all of my books for school, workout shoes and clothes as well as my 17" laptop. The description says that it will fit up to a 15" notebook but if you go to the Oakley website you will get the real dimensions. The only thing I would have liked to see is more covered pockets like the ones under the front flap for more power bricks, cables, and what-not. But there is a good amount of space under the molded pockets under the flap to have loose things...I just like order to the chaos. :) One thing the pictures do not show is that there are molded pockets with covering flaps on both sides of the hip belt thingy. Well worth the money even though it is rather expensive but it should be the only backpack I will ever need no matter if I am at school or camping or whatever. A++++ I can carry all.

This is a great bag. It's big with a good number of compartments. The style is one of a kind. It's a vast improvement on the previous Icon2.0 that I owned. I hope that this bag will give me years of great use. The only bummer is the 90-day warranty. When you spend this much on a bag I think it should last a lifetime.

LOVE THIS BAG!!!!!!! Just got the bag from the box and I love it! Finally a bag that I can carry my computer and books in for school. I go between two major cities everyday and this is going to allow me to only need one bag instead of two. Buy this bag! It is worth every single penny.

If God would have designed a backpack... The backpack is much more attractive in person than in pictures, especially in black. The red pull strips look great on the black backpack, even though they look "weird" in pictures. The quality of the materials is great, and it’s full of metal pieces that make it worth what it costs. The pockets are a lot bigger than what they look like in the pictures: the side pockets are huge, big enough to fit a water bottle. The bottom on the front is big too; it’s not a little flap, it’s a whole pocket where you can put an agenda, a pencil case, and a lot more. As for the bottom pocket, the watertight one, it’s not just a little added pocket on the bottom. There’s a big membrane that separates the main compartment from the bottom watertight one, so you can use just about all the main compartment space to put something wet in this bottom compartment, perfecto for a wet wetsuit after surfing. About comfort I must say that’s its very comfortable. It rests perfectly on your shoulders, and the deep back panel lets your back breathe and ventilate on hot days. Another thing that isn’t evident is the comfort of using the tie downs. It is quick and easy, and it doesn’t require neither time or effort to attach them. There isn’t really any evident defect on this backpack, and the only thing wired about it is the 3 month guarantee, because its quality is sufficient to give it a lifetime guarantee.

Pictures don't do justice - I just bought this backpack to replace my Icon 2.0 that I had for over a year, but was destroyed in a motorcycle accident. It just got sent to me. What an awesome backpack! Fits well, tons of storage, and looks great. Thought about getting the AP pack, but my insurance gave me a $200 limit, so I got the one with more space. I do a lot of international travel and for the money, I don't think that there is much better out there. Gregory packs are great, but nothing they make at this time can compare to this pack. My 15 inch iBook fits perfectly in it, too. The pack is really made well. I like it much more than my old Icon 2.0 and that bag rocked, too. It is a big bag, but not too oversized at all and is great for big trips or just everyday general use. I know it’s a lot of money, but totally worth it. Quality and style cost bucks. Overall, I am very pleased. It’s nice getting it here because it’s tax free and gets shipped overnight for free.

The best I've ever used. I use a backpack every day to store my electronic gear, lunch, papers, etc. I commute via bus then walk several blocks to the office. Once in a while I'll have quite a heavy load and regular backpacks are rock hard and lay on the small of my back (ouch!). This backpack remains comfortable with any load and it contours to the body like a REAL backpack should. It has tons of storage space, security galore, and a rugged style that I have never seen in other packs. The latches on the front are very useful and extremely easy to use with the red pull tabs. I can't imagine ever having too much stuff to carry around in this pack. I'm sold on the Oakley Kitchen Sink Pack! Protect your stuff: This pack will attract attention because it is so good looking. Do yourself a favor and purchase a small lock for the "locking" tabs.

Spacious backpack with few drawbacks - This backpack looks good, but it carries incredibly well. It has more than enough room for all of your stuff and it is rare that a backpack has felt as natural on my back as this one has. It has sturdy construction and I've detected no quality problems (as I often do with other packs whose threads or other bindings seem to fray quickly). The only drawback to this pack is that it is sometimes awkward to get items in or out - if Oakley were to fix that, it would be without peer.

Nice bag - Thinking of spending the $ on this bag, but not sure if it is worth it? Here are some things to know. 1) Yes, it probably is a little overpriced. As with most Oakley products, you are spending a little more to get the "O" emblem. On the other hand, they make quality products, so at least you know you are getting something that will last. This bag is no exception. 2) It is better looking than in the picture. I think the amount of metal hooks, clips, etc.... is a little overkill, and probably contributes to the higher cost. But obviously most other reviewers seem to think these make it more attractive. 3) It is HUGE. If you are a small person, this will be too big for you. This may be a plus for you, but you should be aware that it is really big. Overall, I would recommend it. I've used it as a sports bag, and it works great to carry cleats, gloves, water bottles, etc... in it.

So, you're a world traveler, or just a student that needs to carry everything from a working office with peripherals, to leftover pizza and a canteen. The Oakley Kitchen Sink is what you need. I took mine on a two week jaunt to Japan. The pack made it easy to maneuver in and out of crowded trains, railway stations and taxis. And if you're loaded to the brim, the harness and straps are easy on the shoulders and back. I have traveled for 30 years all over the world and only wish I had purchased this unit sooner. Trust me, I won't travel without it again.
