I absolutely love these boots! As reviewers have previously said, I'd go down a half size. I wear a 7.5 in most shoes, sometimes even 8, but the size 7 is a perfect fit, especially when I have to layer socks or wear thicker socks. Occasionally my feet do get tired after having these on for hours on end (I'm talking 12+ hours), or when I walk a lot (I live on a college campus where I walk miles daily, so by "a lot" I mean more than my usual daily walking), but if I rest my feet for a day, I'm ready to wear them again. I wear these under jeans, with my skinny jeans tucked in, with skirts, with dresses. I live in these boots basically. The quality is visible from the moment you take them out of the box (they smell so good, too!), the craftsmanship is unparalleled, and once they start getting worn in, they just look better and better. I've worn these in the rain (again, I live on a college campus, so if I get caught in the rain, it means I have to walk around in it for a while) and my feet have stayed totally dry. The boots dried just fine, too. Classic, clean, simple shape. It really is the harness boot without the harness, for better or for worse. I personally like the simplicity of it. I\'ve wanted to buy these boots forever but here in Europe they\'re too expensive -around 350 bucks. I ended up buying them on a rush during a trip to the US - the excellent Zappos.com service got me grabbing \'em exactly 24 hrs after completing payment :) I had a serious need for some \'heavy duty\' boots to go to the Burning Man and yes, they passed the test, 5 stars! After a week in a dry lakebed -while my friends were eventually throwing away their destroyed shoes- some saddle soap was all they needed to come back to the original splendour. They\'re great in the desert heat and in cold weather, they keep your feet dry in the rain and look damn good with dresses and skirts. The heel is comfy enough to walk on for great lenghts and tall enough to elongate the leg. Maybe you can\'t wear them to the office (well..I do :)) but they\'re so stylish, effortlessly chic, I\'m always getting loads of compliments. As for the colour, I\'d recommend tan, it\'s easy to go with everything and looks much better than black on bare legs. They\'re totally worth the money and they\'ll last ages!

Frye Cavalry is such a fine boot. I have several pairs of their harness boots. Which run long in length but rather narrow in width. The harness part really makes the ankle fit more snug. I noticed with these cavalry they're a little bit wider in width, but will take up the extra room with my orthodic, and a thick sock. These boots are classic, and will wear year after year! Solid wholesome, well made with Frye craftmanship, you can't go wrong!
