I loved the look of this boot, but besides not having arch support, the heel slipped and I normally don't have that problem.

I loved these boots, but they are just way too narrow for my big wide feet. If your feet are just a little wide, Frye will probably not fit, although they are beautiful! I am going to try a pair of men's Fryes and see if they will fit me.

Best boot ever. Ordered a half size smaller and they fit like a glove. Well worth the money!

Ultimately not what I was looking for, but it is a really nice boot and at a great price for Frye. Love the thick sole and of course the Frye quality. I opted for a less western boot, although this boot does offer a nice western look without being too cowboy.

Comfy from the start. I generally wear a size 7. It took me 3 different sizes on the Harness 12R ordered in the past that I ended up going with a 6 1\/2 because I felt the boot slipping in the back on the 7. I normally wear smartwool socks - nothing too heavy. I ordered the 6 1\/2 in the Cavalry and they fit good. I wouldn\'t want another size. The bottoms of these boots are a bit different than the Harness and could see them being slippery if it was wet outside. I now want them in black, but maybe will wait until after the summer!

I love my new boots; they look great and feel great. I had some Frye boots back in the 70s and only recently realized all the new styles Frye has to offer. I made all my family smell them. Leather smells so good. Zappos is the best, great customer service. Thanks.

These boots are exactly what I have been looking for! I love them. I had to order 3 different sizes to find the best fit. Totally worth all of the hassle.

Straight forward shooter - Boots are well made which is typical of Frye attire. Look is clean and straightforward. This boot would work well with jeans or casual dresses/skirts which you don't care to be overshadowed by loud boots. Down note, they run a full size too large. BTW: Zappos is the online king!

Difficult at first - If you have a high instep I recommend going up a whole size from your normal length size. The top is very snug if you actually have calf muscle. I’m taking mine to a cobbler to see if he can stretch the top out a little. I also recommend buying insoles. These can be uncomfortable if you're doing a lot of walking in them.

The boot that you can wear all day w/ comfort & compliments. I first saw this on a young lady who was wearing them with a dress and they looked cute and I had to ask where she got them. She expressed they were extremely comfortable, yet pricey! I shopped around for months on end to find them and they were hard to find since on backorder everywhere and that is when I knew I really wanted to hunt them down and purchase. I originally settled for Campus, another brand by Frye from a different supplier and wasn't too enthused with that purchase, but sent those back and bought these and absolutely love them. Everything, the fit, the color and the fact I can wear them with just about anything in my closet. If you cannot find it go to Zappos and it's there the majority of the time and was even more excited at how quickly I received them!

Why did I wait so long? After decades of admiring them on other feet, I bought this pair of Frye boots for my own. That they look incredibly cool was not surprising, but they are also very comfortable. After two or three times out, they are about as comfortable as any other shoes I have. I look forward to decades of pleasure.

Awesome! I rarely give Five Stars across the board, but this boot rocks. I got these a few weeks ago, but I'm just wearing them now since the weather has gotten cooler. There has been no break-in period and they are extremely comfortable. I love how great they look, and I look forward to wearing these boots for years. I did go with my normal size, and those fit fine.

Finally my perfect Fryes! I just got these boots an hour ago and I am wearing them under my desk at work! I have been wanting Frye boots for a couple of years, but could never really decide which ones to get. I decided to get some campus ones for this season, since boots are everywhere now I could not resist. I first picked the campus in saddle, because they seemed the most classic... so I ordered the Campus in blazer brown from another website (only because zappos was out of them). They are really cute, fit perfect (I ordered them a half size smaller) but the brown is kind of dark, and were not exactly what I had in mind. I was all ready to keep them, though, until I saw the harness ones in person on a friend. I am not really into the motorcycle look for myself, although it is cool, I loved the square toe and neutral brown color of the tan harness Fryers. Looking through Zappos, I realized that the cavalry boot is the same as the harness boot except w/ out the harness and they have a wooden stacked heel instead of the motorcycle black heel of the harness. So I ordered these, sent the campus back, and the rest is history! I plan on wearing them with skirts, jeans tucked in or over the top, I think they will be really cute with a flowered peasant skirt or a denim mini and a hip hugger belt. You can really tell these are quality boots, definitely worth the 200 bucks. My mom still has hers in wearable condition from the 70's, so I plan on wearing these classics for a long long time!

Mary - Very wonderful boot. Has a good walking heel and does not burden my back or knees. Stylish and durable. I wear a 6.5 and took a 7 on these so I could wear thicker socks with them. Fits perfect.

Can't beat this boot - The other square toed Fryes with rings looked to big on my small frame but these boots are somewhat daintier and "softer." I love them. They are comfortable without even a break-in period.

Color is off, but nice boots. The upper is leather, the rest are manmade materials. My old Fryes are all-leather lined to the toes, so I'm not pleased to see the cloth lining of the foot area and the poly-something insole. The heel is 1 3/4 inches (on a size 7 1/2), not 2" as described here. I'm pleased that they are made in the USA, and I'm willing to pay a lot for a well-made domestic boot, but for the price, these materials are disappointing. Color: Should be called "brown." They are decidedly brown-to-dark-brown in color, yet on my monitor they look golden tan.

Great quality! These boots look really nice, and I anticipate having them for years to come. They are a little difficult to get on and off, and seem a little long, but still narrow. I expect them to break in well, though. They are a nice, casual weekend boot. I wore them yesterday in incredibly foul weather and they held up great.

Five stars for both the boots, and Zappos' customer service! This is the fifth pair of boots I ordered (returning the first four) to get the right fit & style. I tried campus first, but they are fairly straight in the shaft, and frankly, made me look like I had 'cankles'. So I switched to cavalry and was much happier with the shape (squared toe & tapered shape were much more slimming). I'm always between 8 and 9, but mostly nine in boots, flats, or sneakers...since most reviews said they run big, I started with an 8.5, it was too tight across the widest part of the foot. Then I tried the 9, too big overall & had an odd seam that was rubbing one ankle. Since they are handmade, and I spoke to a friend who said she tried on three different boots of the same size before she found hers, I decided to give the 8.5 another go...these were even tighter than the last! Since the 8.5s were so different from each other I decided to give another 9 a shot. Winner winner, chicken dinner! They are just a little big, but with a thin insole to add cushioning & a nice pair of socks, they are a perfect fit, comfy, and look great. The leather is thick, high quality, and smells amazing, just as I was hoping for. I am so thrilled to finally have a pair of beautiful, iconic, Fryes. So, my long winded message in short, these are handmade & there are variations...it may take a few tries to find your pair. Thank you Zappos for your patience & fantastic customer service!

I ordered these Frye Cavalry boots to wear for a week at a Wyoming dude ranch. I was a bit nervous that I didn't have time in advance to break them in, but there was no need. These boots were comfortable right out of the box. They were great for riding horses at the ranch and I wear them now around town with jeans. They are extremely well made - a forever 5 star purchase!

These are great quality boots! They are the perfect height for me. I am 5'3" and do not like knee high boots as they tend to make me look short, or like I am all boot. They are great for wearing with skinny jeans , but can also be worn under bootleg jeans. I have pretty muscular calves (13½") and there is about ½" of space between my calf and the boot to spare. I considered the campus Frye but realized they may be too tight and too tall for me. These are classic boots without looking too western and they stand up to the Frye quality that one would expect.
