Amalfi by Rangoni

Amalfi by Rangoni Logo
Ugo Rangoni was a leather salesman in Florence, Italy. In 1937, he founded a company on a simple premise: shoes should be made using the best materials possible. And Ugo Rangoni knew how to find the best.

He also found a willing audience. The Rangoni recipe of "quality plus comfort" proved so popular that in the early 1940s the company created the Amalfi line for American buyers, becoming one of the first Italian designers to export to the United States. U.S. sales had surpassed one million pairs per year by 1973, the year Ugo Rangoni died – leaving the company to his son, 18-year-old Niccolo.

Niccolo Rangoni remembers those first years of responsibility in the family business as challenging ones. But it's the challenge today that keeps him passionate about building on his father's legacy.

"In the fashion business, every season you start from scratch," he says. "You are constantly creating a new product, a new look. Once you have that in the blood – it’s very difficult to give up." "We’re committed to using only the finest materials in our shoes’ construction: interesting textures, surprising prints, and leather from the finest tanneries in the world. The result is a shoe that's as easy on your feet as it is on the eyes. With each shoe in the Amalfi line, Rangoni seeks a perfect marriage of quality and comfort. That’s also why we continue to offer shoes in a full range of widths in an era when most manufacturers are scaling back. If the shoe fits, you’ll wear it. And Rangoni shoes are made to be worn."

"So how do we offer this level of quality at a cost that’s an average of $100 less than comparable brands? Low overhead. Factories we own – and staff – ourselves. And a location in Florence, Italy, that’s just miles from the finest leather tanneries in the world. You could call it the heart of fashion. For more than 70 years, we’ve called it home."

the shoe is gorgeous! I wear an 8 or 8 1/2 narrow/slim and ordered it in the 8 1/2. They were too long. Unfortunately, they are currently out of the 8, or I would reorder it. They are perhaps a bit wider than listed. That is, I measure a AAA and normally wear AA. These are marked 4A and fit perfectly. If you are between sizes, I would order the shorter one.

These were really cute shoes, good quality, unfortunately the heel slipped on my foot. It was true to my size and I ordered the narrow but it still felt a bit wide in the heel. The heel height was great but overall they were not comfortable for me.

Like many other customers, I found this shoe too big. I bought inserts to see if that would help but they didn't. Foot slid way down into the toe. Ordered a pair whole size smaller but they didn't work either. Returning both.

I normally wear a 9 S or 9 SS and this shoe wasn't very narrow at all I could not keep the shoe on my foot. I literally felt like it was a half of a size bigger

You know those shoes you are looking for? elegant, comfortable, well made (heel at the right angle, they do not open wide when you step)? you thought they do not exist, but they do. I am on my feet all day with no tolerance for pain, but also need a touch of elegance in my outfit. Zappos, please keep selling this brand.

This is a nice looking shoe. The weaving around the toebox kicks it up a style notch. I wear a 10N and this shoe fit well.

It’s so difficult to find quality shoes in narrow widths. I wear a 6 to 6 1/2 AA with an even narrower heal. I had hoped this Almafi would work, as I wore their shoes for many years. Sadly, they too, have succumbed to vanity sizing labeling shoes at least 1/2 size to a full size smaller than true size. I purchased this shoe in both 6 and 6 1/2 and both were too long. Thank you, Zappos, for still trying to offer this size to us. But, most of the brands that still make this size are of a lesser quality and more “senior” look than many of us, with this problem size, would prefer. Thank you for being so understanding about returns. As our sizes are not available in stores anywhere, ordering online is the only way to try on shoes. Shoe fit is very personal and therefore, I must make many returns. Especially as the brands, I once relied on, have simply stopped making 6 AA’s. Zappos, please encourage manufacturers to continue making this size.
