My “typical” hiking boots started causing toe pain and I felt like they put too much of a separation between my feet and the ground, making my increased instability as I age worse. I typically hike “moderate” rated trails. Took these out for a 4+ mile hike yesterday and they were great! I felt more stable, especially going downhill on rock. My toes had the room they needed and did not slip forward when going downhill, which is typically a problem. I’m really glad I ordered these. Order 1/2 size up as recommended by the company.

I tried the Excursion Hiker(9.5) and DayLite Hiker(9). When ordering, I was informed that Excursions were running smaller. However, upon delivery, I discovered the half size would have been fine. I was disappointed that Xero did not have them in stock to exchange so I purchased them from another source (REI). I received the Excursion just in time for vacation to trek ALL OVER COLORADO!!! These boots are EXTREMELY comfortable - my fellow hikers were enviable regarding the flexibility of the shoe!! The shoes are Not heavy, the traction is good, and when I step on rocks on the trail or other rough terrain, I have a sense of solid foot placement instead of some solid rubber bottom sliding on an edge. I went with the Excursion over the DayLite for the Waterproof function which was a good decision trekking through mud and streams. One other factor, the higher support protected my ankles. I will definitely purchase other Xero shoes!!

I wear minimal, zero drop shoes. It's hard to find a trail hiking boot that is designed with low/no support and minimal footbed. These are very comfortable and I was glad to find them.

These Xero shoes fit my feet better than any other shoe that I can remember wearing. I am a barefoot person, but many times I’ve left them on in the house, only because they are so comfortable. I just ordered another pair in a different style.

This hiker is nice and light, pretty roomy in the toe box, and big enough for my bunions and wide flat feet. Good ground feel, with the thin sole, but I was concerned about whether the shoe would hold it’s shape where your foot bends —- whether it would end up with an uncomfortable crease. Ultimately decided not to keep it because I realized I need something waterproof. Loved the color. Wish it was available in the waterproof version!

I had a trip to the Rockies with some family this summer, and thought it was time to go beyond my usual sport sandals and get something my minimalist-shoe-distrusting mother and I both felt would protect my feet. These shoes did the job. While most of my companions couldnt wait to take their hiking boots off at the end of each day, my feet/body felt great! Glad to have these.

I hiked the short Incan trail. 208 flights of stairs and 8 miles of rough terrain. No blisters and felt supported the entire time. Great hiking shoes highly recommend

I love Xero shoes, the Daylites have held up very well with my everyday use, these are the only shoes i own, and i will never go back to "standard" shoes.

I love the DayLite Hiker! I bought these shoes for work- I work on an organic produce farm in Wisconsin- and have been wearing them for about two months. The best compliment I can give these shoes is that I never think about my feet while I wear them. They hold up well under rain, mud, sun and sometimes cement and the grip on the soles is excellent. I recommend them!

I live in Jay, VT and my first hike in my new Xero day hikers was the scramble hike on the Long Trail from 242 to the top of Jay. The shoes did a fantastic job and it was amazing to feel the ground under my feet. The next morning I woke up to all kinds of new muscles saying hello so I know that the shoes did their job making sure that my whole body was working while hiking. I have three pairs of Xero shoes and now my mom and sister are on board. Cant wait for my next pair!

I purchased the Daylight hiker a few months ago, I love them! I wear a size 8 and ordered 8 1/2, they fit perfect. I haven’t done a nice long hike yet, but I wear them all over, they are my go to shoes. I found them a bit warm at first .. they are fine now. I also have the Mesa Trail, I like those too .. I ordered a half size up.

I like them a lot! I use them for riding and occasionally for hiking. I have a minimalist hiking shoe that I purchased a year ago that I adore! Ive bragged about them repeatedly on Facebook... Im a 67 (turning 68) yo woman who hikes in Lake Countys tough and very rocky hills at least 4 days a week, and these crazy shoes are my favorite.

This is a great all around shoe. I work in retail at a farm and ranch store. I needed something that gave my feet a bit more protection than the HFS (which are my favorites). These shoes fit the bill perfectly! They offer just the right amount of foot protection while still maintaining the barefoot feel. They were a little stiff when I first got them. Im sure it was due to the sealed inner booty. However Ive been wearing them everyday now for almost two months 40+ hours a week and they are perfect. They broke in quite nicely. I found the sizing to be perfect for me. I wear a ladies size 8. I have a pretty narrow foot so extra width is not something that I require in a shoe. Some may find this shoe to be too narrow for a wide foot. However,... for me they are perfect and I cant thank the Xero Shoes team enough for producing another great pair of everyday shoes!!

These look and feel great to wear for a long day on your feet. I like the hidden strap design especially when hiking through mud and other inclement conditions. The heel fits a bit tight on me and causes a little rubbing but nothing too uncomfortable.

Love them!!!! I cannot wait to hike far in these. They feel so good and remember, no arch support is a good thing! You have to train your feet! I regularly run and hike in minimalist shoes and my knees and feet feel great! So remember, if you are not used to minimalist shoes, please transition slowly. These run small. Order half size bigger.

Order a half-size up! Love these new hikers and finally, I won't feel like I have dumbbells strapped to my feet. These boots are light, roomy and allow me to feel the ground without hurting the sole of my foot. Again, wide toe box and flexible bottom make all the difference when negotiating difficult terrain. My feet can feel the ground and make adjustments on their own. I could never go back to a traditional hiking boot with a metal shank in the sole.

I was really worried about the sizing of this. Because they recommend half a size up. But my old hikers were kinda too big for me, usable but still I wished they were more snug. Basically, I always felt like some Xero shoes are made half a size up, even if it's not mentioned. So I decided to gamble and just take my usual size, hoping that they will fit more snug. And it worked! They seem just right now! So glad I didn't go with the recommendation. xD (For reference, I've always worn EU size 38, it was always fine for me, and 37.5 was always too small. My foot isn't narrow, and I have a high arch.) Now, I've very excited to test these in the field! They seem like they should be perfect for hikes and such.

I just received these boots, and here are my thoughts. First of all can we talk about the color? I purchased the Mulberry color and who knew Purple was a neutral? They are a soft almost grey purple and I suspect will go with anything. Next let's talk about the comfort. I can see myself hiking for hours in these boots, they are light weight, comfortable and my toes are not cramped even with socks on. I did order a 1/2 size up so I can wear a thicker sock if needed. I will be heading back out to Arizona in the next few months and have plans on hiking in the mountains, these will be the boots I will take. I have foot and ankle pain in my right foot, however with wearing any/all of my Xero shoes I do not experience any pain and I have tried every "orthopedic" type shoe and inserts on the market. I am so glad I decided to try them a couple of years ago. with the purchase of these Daylite Hike Fusions, this will be my 6th pair of Xero shoes and I can tell you, they will not be my last. Thank you!
