I love all of my Topos and I probably own 8 pair now. But this Ultrafly 5 is by far my favorite because it feels so cushy on my poor old feet. I am 71 years old and do not run anymore, but I do walk a lot. The moment I put these on, I was able to walk longer. It's just amazing. And I love the colors on the shoe, too. I got the blue pair.

Lightweight, flexible, wide toebox does not cause pain with my bunion. I never have to wear socks with these shoes. Had the previous Ultrafly 4's in the magenta color, wish the 5's were available in the same color. Great shoe overall for all activity.

I wear my Topos for everyday wear, including walking, line dancing, and chair yoga. They are so comfortable that I rarely wear dressy shoes. The toe box fits better than others that advertise a roomy toe box, and the mid-shoe and heel fit just right.

I use my Topos walking to and from work and for working in the hospital. I did not notice much difference between the 4 and 5 Ultrafly. My narrow heels do not slide around in them and the wide toe box is always a welcome feature. I love the shape of Topos and I can stay on my feet all day in these. I don't love the concentric design on the top of the shoe but this is a minor flaw. #sweepstakes

I am happy to be introduced to Topo by my physical therapist. I love the wide toe box Topo Ultrafly 5, and it is super comfortable right out the box; there's no need to break in. I got a pair of black but would love it if this model came in white.

Finally! A shoe that is foot-shaped and cushiony and is NOT zero-drop or barefoot! My feet can retain their natural shape in these, and they have great cushion and room for my orthotics (though the arch support is pretty good anyway.)

Topos were recommended to my by my podiatrist after I started experiencing foot pain for the first time in my life. I walk approximately 20 miles per week for exercise and at age 60 realize that I need to start paying attention to my shoes! I bought this pair in white as an everyday shoe, but after walking in another brand, I may switch to Topos for the road as well. I have a wide foot, bunions, and need a wider toe box, and the stretchy fabric accommodates my foot well. They feel sturdy and cushiony. 10/10

(real reviewer here) :) Perfect for anyone with a wider forefoot. First shoe I've ever had that I don't feel like I'm rubbing all over on the sides of my toes or smashing my big toe when I run downhill- but they are also narrow in the heel enough to keep me in place. They're also CUTE, which I wasn't expecting for the type of shoe. They weigh nothing, I feel like I'm running in moon shoes. Don't change a thing.

This is the only shoe that I can wear for running that doesn't aggravate my sesimoiditis. The wide toe box is key for me because it allows my foot to remain in a natural position. Cushioning is perfect - not too much to affect stability, but enough for comfort on the road.

Good shoe. The grip from the sole came off after a few wears, so there is some quality control concerns. Things happen, so its understandable. The other 3 pairs we got from them over the years were without issue. If you get a good pair, they're quite comfortable and last the expected duration. Topos made the return process fairly straight forward, but very slow, and shipped it to the wrong address initially. Will be somewhere around 3-4 weeks from return initiation to receiving new shoe.

I wear Xero shoes but wanted shoes with some cushion. I ordered a wide because I wanted a wide toe box, but I think a regular width would have been fine, so they are being returned. Overall, they are really comfy. The only thing I wasn’t too crazy about is the way the sole angles outward, as it made my feet look huge.

I switched to the Ultrafly 4 after years of running in Hoka Arahis...I wanted something less stiff and closer feeling to the ground. I LOVED the ultrafly 4.... When I bought the 5s I was hoping to love them equally eben though looking at them i could tell they were already trending to look like hokas...but as soon as I put my foot into them I knew they were no longer my shoe . They are stiff and feel like a hoka... the whole point of buying topos was to get away from that style of shoe...and their "upgrades" to these shoes made them feel like a different company makes them now. I immediately searched the I internet to order another pair of ultrayfly 4s because the 5s are so disappointing. Even the tred compared to the 4s are lacking.. Please go back to the old style ... if you want to change that much about a shoe just make a new style altogether instead of "updatng" a model. The black pair are 4s abd the blue are the 5s (with under 50 miles on them) and there is hardly any tread on them.

when I first put these on it felt like I was walking on clouds. I have sesamoiditis and I heard good things about this brand because of the 5 mm drop and the wide toe box. The cushioning was nice too. But after wearing them in the house for about 30 minutes, I changed my mind about these. What did not work for me was the outer foot midsole section. It put pressure on that part of my foot and it felt like my foot was pronating despite the arch support. This dynamic would ultimately will put pressure on the ball of the foot at the big toe and aggravate the sesamoids. The sole was also a little too flexible for my condition. Sad to have to send them back, as I had high hopes for these. I am usually a size 8 but ordered 8.5 in these based on reviews.

I have worn Ultrafly 4's for the last 4 years and have been so happy with comfort and performance. Recently Topo made changes to the Ultrafly 4 to the Ultrafly 5 and it is causing me pain and a callous in the outer edge of my midfoot. The new Ultrafly 5 has a wider base and forefoot than the Ultrafly 4. I'm sure the biomechanical engineers know what they did to change the shoe. I have not changed anything else in my workout routine so I know it is the shoes. I'm wondering if there is another shoe that is more like the Ultrafly 4 that I can order. Please advise what shoe you might recommend that is closest to the Ultrafly 4. Thank You

The ultrafly 4 was the perfect shoe for me. I wish I had stockpiled the 4. :( I wear Topos because I have a Morton's Neuroma, so I need a wide toebox to allow for that, and for the toe spacer I need to wear. Going from Altras to Topos alleviated hip pain. I had NO sesamoiditis pain which had been an issue. After just one walk in the new ultrafly 5's, sesamoiditis pain came raging back due to the abrupt drop off from midfoot to toebox. I am SOOO sad, and am in the middle of training for a race.

I am incredibly disappointed you keep changing your shoes for the worse. I just read a review that you did the same to the Phantom shoe. The Ultrafly 4 was an excellent shoe for stability before you changed the medial post which makes a completely different feel. The minute you put it on you can feel the difference. I just put the Ultrafly 4 back on and it fits so perfect and holds my heel on. Such a drastic change while still calling it the same shoe, the Ultrafly, is horrible transparency.

My feet LOVE Topos Ultrafly. I got my first pair locally when I was looking at (finally) getting a pair of Hokas. Tried the Hokas on, but wasn't impressed. The salesperson suggested the Topos Ultrafly because I have Hobbit feet. Wide at the front, but narrow in the heel. I have worn that first pair for months and realized I needed another pair. Zappos recommended I go up a size. The 8's I got at the store were comfy, but the 8.5 are a dream. Good job, Zappos! The Purple and gray are perfect; lovely neutral that won't show dirt like the white ones do.

Finally! A stability shoe shaped like a human's foot! For my foot, I need a very wide toebox, real pronation control (not guide rails), a normal midfoot, narrower heels, decent cushioning (not towering or mushy) , and a low drop (but not zero). The Ultrafly 5 is almost/very close to perfect! Because my right toes need the 4.5 inch toebox of the wide width and my left foot is longer, I had to get a 9 Wide. The heels could stand to be a bit narrower, which keeps them from being perfect. And the right foot is more of an 8.5, but I had to get the 9 for the left. So I simply add a piece of thick memory foam (I cut this from an old pillow) inside my sock around the back of my right foot, which makes the heel fit snugger and, more importantly, keeps my shorter foot placed a bit further forward in the longer shoe, so my bunion and wide toes are in the widest part of the shoe, where they should be. The alternative is to buy shoes in 2 different sizes. The Wide only comes in black and white, but it's a very attractive black and white. All the other shoes I bought ( Brooks, New Balance, Hoka) were too narrow in the toes even in the wide, and if I went to 2E, the rest of the shoe was so wide, they fit like backless mules, not sneakers. Foot drops were too high. Cushioning was too high/thick and made me feel unbalanced. So I tried TopoAthletics. The pronation is the tried and true rollbar, but not an intrusive, cumbersome one, and effective, unlike the others' guiderails that simply seem to keep the foot and shoe straight, but don't keep my feet from pronating. Topo Customer Service answered my questions clearly in texts, and gave helpful advice about sizing. Great shoe! Great company.

I work out at the local gym doing strength classes and have a problem with my Talus Navicular joint and these shoes have taken the pressure off my mid foot so I don't get nearly as sore afterwards as I used to with my arched regular athletic shoes.

These shoes are super comfy for my sore feet, have a wide toe box for my wide feet, and are the only shoes that don't trigger my plantar fasciitis or neuroma. I honestly recommend them, not just because I'm trying to win the sweepstakes.
