The material, as expected is stiff leather. Dr. Martens take a while to break in, so the comfort is not there initially.

Delivery gets a 5 star, I live in a US territory and normally shipping takes at least 2 weeks but it came in a week! So fast! The shoes however are just as any doc marten, they are extremely stiff and a tad uncomfortable at first.. These pairs in specific def run a bit big. I usually wear a size 7-71/2, I ended up getting a 6 after reading reviews and they just a tad bit too perfect but I know forsure if I went for a 7 it would have been too big unless I were to use an insole. I did the good ole blowdryer and thick socks trick and they feel a lot more loosened now. I'm sure with more wear it will become more comfortable as well. Overall, they are so cute and I love them! Even if I suffer a bit wearing them :,)

The shoe was a little larger than I expected, and also a bit less flexible than I anticipated. I've just been wearing them with thicker socks and it is okay, but when I wear thin socks they are a bit looser than I anticipated and the material doesn't really bend with you. Also, the soles are very squeaky when you walk on linoleum. But I still love the style and they were aesthetically just what I was looking for, so I will keep them.

I actually bought my daughter size which is a 7.5 so we went with an 8 it was huge like huge. So I ordered the size 7 and it fit perfectly. Zappos costumer service of course is the best so it was pretty painless

I was very concerned about the chunkiness of the outsole, I am so glad it is well proportioned, it looks a bit dressy compare to the classic 1641 shoes, since it dose make you legs look longer, but still the same comfort, not heavy, don’t look like you have gigantic shoes on you like Ronald McDonald. I am so glad I got them, very cool looking!

Perfect in every way and shape, aesthetic, etc. Just what I ordered. Except get a whole size smaller. :)

I usually wear a 6 but the DM equivalent, a 4, was way too big. The 3 seemed too small at first but with a little breaking in—bending the heel a little, wearing for short times at first—it’s perfect. Break in time was actually pretty short and painless. No blisters or anything like that.

I really wanted to like these. They are very cute, but the black patent leather was very stiff and the tongue dug into my ankle. Otherwise, they seemed comfortable with a wide toe box. Sadly, had to return.

I didn't love the look of these as much as other Doc Martens -- they're more pointed in the toe than classic Docs, which I find much less appealing, but there was still lots to like and they would serve me for formal work stuff if they only fit right. That was the kicker. I wore them around the house ... ever hopeful that the narrowness across the middle of my foot (side to side, not on top) would ease, but I can't deny it: my wider foot needs a more accommodating shoe, and this was the first Doc M that has squeezed me there.

Fit is fine. However, these shoes squeak unmercifully and on all kinds of surfaces. It became unbearable, I had to return them.

So disappointed with the quality and fit of these. They are nothing like the Made in England Dr.Martens. Very light weight, poor quality leather, brittle sole and little to no padding. I was looking to replace a well loved pair I've had for many years and I had no idea how much the quality has suffered since they are no longer made in England. Although the style is very much like the English Docs don't be fooled. I can't send them back fast enough.

These are super comfortable right out of the box. However, the felt a bit masculine on me. Not like a cool pair of Docs, but like I was wearing mens dress shoes. I don't know if that makes sense. They just weren't giving me that classic Docs feel. The toe area was much less rounded and more flat that typical Docs like the 1461 smooth.

The shoe is excellent, but the size was just slightly too big. I wish there were half sizes, but hoping the size down will fit right.

Not wide enough for a wider foot.

I have ordered several pair of dr martens over the years. The 1461 Bex smooth leather oxford size 7 fits like a size 8, however the width is fine. I will be ordering a size 6

Figuring out sizing was tricky for this shoe. I am regularly a US women's 8 but have always purchased UK 5 for my dr. martens boots. These 1461 Bex fit more true to size than expected and I had to go for a US women's 8 (my toes were hitting the front when I tried walking in the size 7). I would recommended ordering at least 2 sizes to try out. The leather is extremely stiff and takes time to break in. I've been layering 2-3 pairs of socks and they are slowly becoming more comfortable with each wear.

Extremely stylish but very uncomfortable. Highly suggest custom insoles for adequate support.

Really comfortable shoes , true to fit

Oddly enough, I like the white of these shoes. I also have these in black/white.

These are just what my daughter wished for. True to form, these are leather Doc Martens--heavy, sturdy, and well-constructed to last a long time!

Once a pair of Dr. Martens is broken in, they are the most comfortable shoes to wear all day. If taken care of properly, they will last years. Definitely worth the investment.
