First let me say I’m SUPER picky and have foot pain so shoes are an investment for me. As a Gen X-er, I’m resistant to wearing old lady looking orthotics, but refuse to wear shoes that hurt just because they’re cute. I bought these to wear for my son’s graduation and they were comfortable right out of the box. I have extremely high arches and have foot pain on the ball of my feet and these wedges have perfect support. I’m on my feet at work quite a bit and even after only 1 or 2 wears, these are typical Birkenstock comfort. This is my first pair of Birk wedges, but they had been recommended to me by a friend whose foot doctor said the wedge cups the heel and takes pressure off the arch. They’re expensive so I cannot say I’d turn around and buy another pair right now, but I definitely would if my wallet allowed. The yellow is gorgeous and neutral enough to wear with more than you would think. I can’t wait to get them even more worn in because I think they’ll only get better and better and softer and softer. So so cute!!!

I really liked this, and believe they would have been comfortable shoes to wear all summer with skirts and dresses. Unfortunately, the ankle strap is too small. I would have had to add a hole at the very end, and the strap wouldn't have gone all the way through the buckle. I'm not super slim, but I also don't really have chonky ankles, so this seems like a very poor design decision.

I love these wedges, but this leather is too stiff for me. I have these in the cognac and I wore them on an outing so I will keep. The leather straps rubbed my feet.

The ankle strap is very firm. There is no give. It presses against my ankle and hurts.

I purchased these in black last summer and love them so much that I decided to buy a brown pair for this summer. Very comfortable and supportive and super cute! High quality. I'm usually a size 7 and have a slightly narrow foot. Size 37 fit me perfectly.

The Soley wedge exceeded my expectations! I love all of my Birkenstocks, and now I have a pair that I can dress up. These fit me TTS (for the brand), they're comfortable out of the box, and they're supportive. The sandcastle nubuck color goes with everything too. Perfect summer sandal!

No break in needed.. I so love these, I’m going back and getting a couple other colors. The most comfortable sandal right out the box!

These sandals are wonderfully comfortable. I can where them all day. They run about a half size big. And though labeled narrow, they are generously wide for my medium width feet. These sandals are also very cute and flattering.

I am totally in love with these shoes. Great for someone with a narrow foot like me. Soft walking shoes and SUPER CUTE! So versatile to wear with many different things. Very happy I got these.

I don’t usually find Birkenstock sandals comfortable but this Papillio is very comfortable. I am picky about shoes, I have problem feet and difficulty finding comfortable shoes This shoe is very comfortable and supportive, the suede material the straps are made from is very soft against the skin. I got it in the Sandcastle it’s neutral.

The first thing my husband said to me when I showed him these Birks was "uh those don't look like Birks!" And he's right, they don't. But they are and they as comfortable as my more typical Birkenstock sandals. I wear a 7.5 to 8 in most shoes, my foot is on the narrow side and also low volume. I ordered a 38 (what I wear in Birks anyway) and was so glad these came in the narrow width. They fit perfectly.

These are absolutely perfect in every way. Quality, comfort, excellent arch support, and they look great on. I pronate in a flat shoe, but can't wear a heel that's too high anymore either. I also had surgery on one foot so it is now wider than the other foot. Was able to make the necessary adjustments with these sandals, and it is not obvious that my feet are different. I ordered 4 pairs of sandals intending to return 3 pairs back to Zappos after selecting one - ended up keeping these in addition to another pair because I could not let these go back with such a perfect fit and great look. Love them. FYI, I am 66 years old and wear a European 39 (which always fits perfectly) , or a US 8 or 8.5 depending on the shoe.

I have very wide feet and even though these say they are narrow, they are adjustable and the width was awesome once adjusted. The major design flaw with these shoes is that the ankle strap is not long enough and the buckle won't close. I don't have particularly large ankles and I read other reviewers also had this problem. I love Birkenstocks and wanted to love these shoes, but they just won't work if I cannot buckle them closed.

The sole of this sandle is extremely comfortable, unfortunately for my moderately-wide foot, the ankle strap was too small, and had no extra length for my foot. The toe strap was stiff and the buckle could be felt; if these two items had offered more comfort and increased length, I am sure that these could have become some of my all-time most comfortable shoes. Unfortunately, I had to return for these reasons.

Cute shoe, definitely not for me. The sole of my foot, in heaven, top of my foot, a fresh new level of hell. The strap over the toes is painful even to try on. Both the buckle and the strap cut into my foot, I couldn't even wear them for 5 minutes. Sadly, returning.

The footbed was incredibly comfortable and relatively narrow. The issue is with the buckles and the amount of leather they offer to adjust the buckle. I couldn't adjust the buckle at all across the right foot. Both buckles at the ankles are flimsy. Sadly, i'm returning.

It was love at first sight - and then I put them on and loved them all the more! I haven't worn a "heel" in ages, and these shoes were comfortable immediately. I walked all around all day, inside, when they first arrived, and knew they'd be just fine. Wore them the next day on an outing and they were great! It's so nice to have a bit of a heel to wear with dresses/skirts, they look and feel awesome. :)

Summer walking vacation: These Papillio’s were my go to strollers when my other shoes were too painful for my feet.

Literally the most comfortable wedges ever made. I can wear these all day with no strain and no pain. They are stable and I do not turn my ankles or trip like with other wedges I own.

very comfortable was worried that forefoot would carry to much weight and ankle straps would dig in, but it is not to high and cuter than chunky platforms

It felt a full size larger because it was a 38 and not the 37 which I ordered. It is a lovely shoe but too big for my foot.

The fit is great and feels good. They are a little heavy but ok!

LOVE these sandals! I have received many compliments and they are as comfortable as a Birkenstock. The buckle over my toes does dig into the top of my foot a little, but nothing terrible that would keep me from wearing these gems. I bought my usual Birkenstock size.
