if you have a low volume foot & many of the wider toe-box shoes don't fit - THESE WILL !! They've truly made my feet feel healthier, stronger.

I started wearing the Topo Ultrventure Pro in 2022 during my PCT thruhike. I started with the Altra Lone Peak shoe, and loved the no blister light weight option. But, the lack of Altra Lone Peak support was an issue, with knee pain and back pain resulting. The Topo Ultraventure Pro immediately solved my lower back and knee pains. That was unexpected. The blisters were a huge drag though. This was a heavier shoe than any shoe I have ever worn, so I was worried about how this shoe would perform long term. The Topo Ultraventure Pro was perfect for my thruhike. It helped my body handle the weight on my back and the terraine. When I purchased this shoe on trail, I bought 6 1/2 - it was too large and created blisters. I bought a size 6 and it was truly a perfect fit, even on trail. My shoe size was previously 5-5 1/2 depending on the shoe. The Topo Ultraventure Pro is no longer available so I took the chance and purchased the Traverse. I love this Traverse. The fit and function so far has been perfect. No knee or back pain. I find I can run and train with this shoe without my back pack with a lot of comfort. This has become my go to multi functional shoe- I wear it all day, while training - running and walking with & without a backpack, on soft & hard surfaces, variety of terraines (paths, streets, stairs, mountainous), while on flat or inclined elevations. What a plus. So far, so very happy. No blisters, either. We will see how it performs on a multi day backpacking journey, with a heavy load, in the Sierra. As a trail runner and street runner, the Solomon was my shoe of choice, and the Altra lone peaks held strong on the trail, but, after wearing Topo UltraVenture pro and now the Traverse with their larger toe boxes, excellent insole support, with added rock plate support, the Altra Lone Peak and Solomon shoes have been placed in the back of my closet on the shelf. Shoe choices are a very personal choice. This shoe just happened to check all my boxes, and offer even more by providing multi functional capabilities resulting in one shoe vs 3 separate shoes needed for my adventures.

I mainly use this pair of shoes for walking and some hiking. I find the wide toe box to be very comfortable, and I like the fit of the heel. My problem with them is the recent formation of a hole in the heel area liner. I really believe this shouldn't have occurred. The shoes are not heavily used, and they are not yet a year old (purchased Nov. 2023). I think subpar fabric was chosen. The shoes cost enough that quality fabrics should have been used throughout.

I am a backpacker and have always been a fan of Topo shoes for road shoes, I have been trying to find a pair suitable for backpacking as well. The ultraventures were a bit too stiff and had too much cushion for my liking and they just didn't fit the best for my feet. Next I tried the terraventure 3s, they were better but on rocky terrain with my heavy pack I didn't have as much support as I'd like for longer treks. What I really wanted was something in between, the Traverse is perfect for me, a moderate amount of cushioning but enough stiffness so my feet don't get fatigued as quickly, and also personally I appreciate the extra stiffness on rocky terrain and always the low drop. These are perfect for backpackers and through hikers, please never discontinue them :)

I bought these to use for a 10-day trek on the Trans-Caucasian trail. I wore them to work (indoors) for about 3 weeks with several days of light trail use (2 miles on a dirt path) mixed in as break-in. Before getting a proper hike in, a hole formed in the fabric on the inner edge of the R shoe near the ankle lock hole. I'm told by Topo that this is due to a gait issue, not a manufacturing defect. I accept that, but wonder why this has never happened on another pair of shoes. Major design flaw!

I've had two pairs of Topo boots, which I loved and were comfortable for many hundreds of miles. I was excited to try the Traverse shoes. What a mistake. Yes, they are comfortable. But the foam on the sale can't stand any kind of rocky trail, and like other customers have posted, the collar around the ankle is already frayed and coming apart. I was planning on doing a three hundred mile hike with these shoes and am incredibly disappointed.

So nice to have BOTH toe box space, and arch support built in! Wore them all day the first day with total comfort and coolness. Can't wait to try them out on the trail.

I have topics for every different exercise I do. Wanted to try the trail shoes and they didn't disappoint! Roomy toe box, good support, snug as should be in the heel and kept my feet dry in snow I love my tops and will never go to any other workout shoe

I loved the hiking boots I bought. Most comfortable I have ever owned, so I bought these for everyday wear and I love them just as much. I have to be careful of my bunion and plantar facciatis. .#Sweepstakes

First of all, I was told to order up. I wear 8 in shoes, 8.5 in running shoes, and I ordered these in a 9. Right out of the box they are very comfortable and have had no rubbing or hot spots anywhere. There is good support for carrying a heavy pack, and the rocker plate is very helpful for my arthritic big toes (hallux limitus). I appreciate that Topo is now offering 5mm drop as I find that much more comfortable for my achilles and overall long distance walking comfort.

I wore these shoes on the Camino Frances in late April to early June 2024. My feet felt comfortable on a variety of surfaces and very stable in the sections with snow, scree or sawtooth rocks. I appreciated being able to wash them in the shower and dry them overnight under a radiator. I wore Injini liners and wool socks and had no blisters. After putting well over 500 miles on these shoes, the Vibram lugs are still in great shape, but I've retired the shoes and use them mainly for gardening.

I love these shoes. I do a 9 mile run along the American River trails. These shoes are comfortable and have a good grip sole. I've been wearing Topo shoes for years. They get better with every new pair.

This is my first pair of Topo's and I'm already in love with them. This is the shoe I'm going to use for my PCT thru hike and I'm hoping to be a loyal customer of Topo shoes!

Love these. I just transitioned out of ons as they seem to be moving away from functional shoes into fashion and the toe box is in a nonfunctional shape. Altras were too wide for my foot overall, so these were a perfect compromise for my foot with a standard/narrow heel and mid foot, but spacious toebox for natural movement and support through the whole foot. They were immediately comfortable out of the box and they have great tread even on snow despite not being bulky. I'm glad I was sized in a store though bc I did size up half a size for length and arch placement. So happy to have found this shoe!

Topo, how I love thee! Let me count the ways. Comfortable from the get go, roomy toe box, no break-in blisters. The perfect shoe for hiking/walking. I bought the Traverse for summer hiking and it's comfortable with a wool sock even now as winter approaches. Also bought the Terraventure 4 WP to see which would be best for my foot. I'm keeping both as they are so comfortable. The Terraventure is my winter hiking shoe. Also have the Ultraventure for my everyday running around town shoe. I think one of each is best:)

I've worn several Topos for a combo of trail running and hiking. Most recently I had the Ultraventure, which for me feels sloppy on downhills and hurt my toes. Those are still going for flat terrain but I knew I needed something new for steeper descents. I love everything about this shoe so far. Keeps debris out of my socks but is somehow not hot and sweaty? Dries fast. Comfort out of the box and my feet feel great the next day. And also good for running! A real winner.

I just wore these all over the slippery cobbles in Lisbon and Porto. I saw multiple warning about how slippery the cobblestones are, especially in the rain. These shoes felt so secure. No slipping at all. I wore them every day of a 12 day trip and am now ordering a backup pair. Toe box is great and my narrow heel doesn't slip.

I've been a day hiker for decades, but now have Morton's neuroma left foot, plantar fasciitis both feet, and high arches. Also, feet are between an M/narrow. It's been a nightmare over the years trying to find wide toe box shoes that work for me. Men's shoes: too wide all around. Altras: most styles OK in toe box, but too wide for my narrow feet. Lems and Xero: barefoot style hurts my neuroma. I'm trying to supplement with a thicker foot pad under my orthotic. The traverse are my second pair of Topos and I love how it fits my slightly narrow foot, with just right toe Box. My orthotics fit in beautifully and the traverse is something I now wear almost exclusively. I walk about 2 miles a day, and then another mile or two on my large property. They hug my feet just right, allowing my feet to feel them, creating the best stability I've had in years. Somehow, this also improves my balance. Topo, if you will make others with that medium cushion, vibram sole and this kind of stability, you will have me for life! I would love if they came in an 11.5, also. I have just ordered the Terra venture to have some waterproof shoes for Portland winters, we will see if those work.

I have broken my left foot three times and have had plantar fasciitis so that foot is extremely persnickety about shoes. I've tried so many other brands and wasn't sure about these at first. They have been awesome, allowing me to walk a couple miles or more every day without discomfort which is HUGE. I am so thankful to have finally found a shoe that works and allows me to continue to be active. I have recommended them to several women and those who have bought them are also very happy with them. Thanks TOPO for making my life more enjoyable!
