I am a long time fan of Saucony and the Guide series. Really wanted to love this shoe. But after less than 50 miles I had to return them due to plantar issues and pain in both feet. Though the shoe is stable it is not a stability shoe. The sidewalls provide very little support, guidance or correction. The cushioning is incredibly soft without responsiveness and contributes to the lack of stability underfoot. The forefoot and medial heel felt unstable and lacked enough structure to adequately control flex and movement. This is a Guide in name only and seems to engineered as a product for mass appeal rather than a viable stability trainer. Going to load up on the 16s. Saucony please fix this for the next iteration.

I just tried it on and could not walk given the completely different heel! As your records indicate, I am very good customer but the change from 16 to 17 is unacceptable for me. Please advise Thank you

Those shoes fit great, just as expected. They stay snugly on my feet and are great for walking and running. Theyre comfortable for all day wear and seem to be durable too. I highly recommend them to others.

The Saucony PWRrun shoe is very stylish looking.Comfortable and fits well except I find it a half size smaller than actual shoe size. Not a problem for me since I got a bigger size than I normally wear.Snug fitting all around,I have some swelling from gout so I have to loosen the laces quite a bit but overall comfortable. The sole has some cushion to it but not a lot.Still not bad for a running shoe.

The Saucony Guide 17 is a great every day training shoe. I feel well supported, stable and appreciate the soft cushion and lightness to the shoe. The sidewalls are significant, and the base feels wide and comfortable. I also love the overall look and design. Feel its on trend with other runners on the market. Great color choices too. Saucony has a great running shoe with the Guide 17! Definitely loving it so far.

I never thought I would love a pair of shoes as much as I love these. The shoes are well made and very very comfortable to wear. While running they support the entire foot and cushion against the impact of your foot hitting the ground. I am also delighted that they are so light. I dont know how I was able to get along without these shoes. So far I have used them over a month and have not noticed too much wear and tear on them. I would highly recommend the shoes.

A good running shoe. I received the Guide 17 a while back to try out for myself. Comfortable, liable and full of support. I can walk all day in them. I would recommend this shoe to anyone who is looking for a good running or walking shoe.

I agree with the other review about making Saucony like Hokas...leave them be! The base on these shoes are too wide to get good movement in your ankles and foot. The rocker base and the softness of the shoe make the legs and feet sore. I always commended Saucony on never having a break-in period...I wish I could find the right shoe that I used to wear! My physical therapist liked my Hurricanes due to the narrow base to get good movement out of my ankles and feet after breaking my foot. Seems as if the arches have been lowered in all the shoes...

Love the old one. This one feels good at first, bouncy, but got major blisters on a 1/2 marathon recently.

Don't get me wrong, these are probably great shoes for the right person. I need stability and good cushioning but these soles are just too big. I will likely trip over the bulk of the soles and I need to be able to feel my feet on the ground. Some of these "cushioning" brands are so thick they still feel like bricks to me. The colors of this style are great but I just need a more streamlined, flexible, less bulky running shoe.

These are comfortable, not super comfortable but good enough to wear for an eight hour workday. They however are not very stylish. They kind of look and feel big and bulky. That being said if you are looking for something that is going to be easy on your feet and don't care about looks, these are for you.

I have worn this type of Saucony shoe for more than 10 years. This is the first pair I haven't been happy with because they tend to hurt my feet for some reason.

I bought my pair about a month ago and have only worn less than 5x's. One of the biggest reasons for buying this shoe was to help my heel. That didn't happen. I was hoping they would do a better job than HOKA. I rate both as a defeat!

I spend most of my time running on off ( smooth ) trails and stick to your rugged to enjoy nature more. Unfortunately this is a faster way to wear out out your shoes faster but its also a way to find out very QUICKLY if you HAVE a GREAT PAIR of RUNNING SHOES! These new Saucony Guide 17 runners I personally believe are lacking what it takes to go the distance on most trails beyond your standard SMOOTH PAVED. They DO have a nice LOOK about them and will do for a comfortable everyday WALKING SHOE, but NOT for my LONG DISTANCE RUNS. The PROBLEM seems to LY MID SOLE- it is very FIRM and seems to POUND INTO the TENDER SOLES of my feet as I'm RUNNING and the MORE RUGGED the TRAIL the more PAINFUL it BECAME. Needless to say I will DEFINITELY be STAYING off rugged trails with these Saucony's Guide 17 runners.

The shoe size and width was wonderful, yet the heel with its heel bevel is awful. I have to return them immediately. The heel bevel is extreme and makes for a bumpy walk, very uncomfortable. Not a walking shoe, but must be for runners only. I am disappointed, as if the shoe had a flat bottom heel, I would have been able to keep them.

I have run in the Guide 14 and 15's and loved them. So of course I went right back to the newest version of the Saucony Guide when it came time for new running shoes. Unfortunately I didn't realize how much they changed this from past versions. The 17's have much more cushion and a bigger sole. Some people may like this but I did not. I tried to slowly transition to the new shoes, but still never felt comfortable in them, and actually ended up with a good deal of foot pain. One thing I noticed was Saucony's site says the Guide 17 has an 8mm heel drop (like past versions) but other sites say it's 6mm. I'm not sure if the lower heel drop was my issue or not. Either way I'm stuck with these since I did try to run in them for a while.

The soles of the Guide 17 sneakers are too high and too hard for me. They hurt my lower back. Guide 16 sneakers are perfect for me.

The changes with the Guide 17 over the Guide 16 and prior generations makes this a no go for me. The Guide 17 is a noticeably larger shoe than the Guide 16 and prior generations. The foot strike area is different than prior Guide shoes. The size. The Guide 17 is large and wide and felt awkward and uncomfortable to walk and run in. The widest part of the shoe, the forefoot area is nearly 5 inches wide, a half inch wider than the Guide 16. The midfoot area on the Guide 17 is nearly 3.5 inches wide while it is barely 2.75 inches on the Guide 16. The heel area is on the Guide 17 is over 4 inches wide while it's a just under 3.5 inches on the Guide 16. When I opened the box I initially thought I had been sent a wide width or had mistakenly ordered something other than medium width. It's like the shoe has become an extra extra wide. Foot strike area. The Guide 16 and prior generations my foot strike zone would be the forefoot area but the Guide 17 is the heel to midfoot area. The offset of the shoe changed from the Guide 16 to 17 or the description on the website and the shoe are wrong. The website lists the Guide 17 as having an 8mm offset which is the same 8mm offset for the Guide 16 but the actual Guide 17 I received has a 6mm offset printed on the sole of the shoe.

I have tried to love, even like these shoes but they absolutely KILL my feet. I don't know what it is about them but it has been a complete waste of money.
