My golf pro told me my sneaker style golf shoes weren't supportive enough for my flat feet. My arches collapse and stance/balance shifts – reducing ability to transfer power and push off effectively. These FJs are supposed to be among the most supportive shoe out there. They felt like tanks compared to the more flexible mesh sneakers I have been wearing, but locked in for sure. Not super comfortable, but maybe they just need to break in. I wore them around the house... all good. I wore them out to play and that wasn't so great. Nothing major, but after a few holes, I kept needing to cinch them down more and more as the shoe packed-out. Eventually, I couldn't close the BOA system tight enough to secure my foot from moving. Like, The BOA ran out of cable and was all the way tight. The toe box was also a little longer than usual for me. I had a lot of room up front and they kinda looked like skis on me. I also got a little blister... but again, new shoes do that sometime. These things look intense, but not in a super cool way. Plus, there is no ventilation, so it would be nice to see a mesh/summer version.

So far it is comfortable, let's hope the BOA stays tight and not pop out like the Tour X Boa during play.

Loved the show hated the toe box was too small but well made and good looking

A lot of the reviews I read said fits normal but I need extra toe box room for my feet and found the sizing a little challenging. First the 9 1/2 is definitely longer than my adidas 9 1/2 and secondly the toe box narrows at the end quite a bit. This leaves me with a situation where I would like to size down a half size but concerned the narrower toe box might cramp my toes. Otherwise these shoes are everything you want. Soft leather the Boa system seems to work well wrapping my foot comfortably and an awesome footbed for those of us who are looking for arch support and the like.
I sent them back though hoping the 9 will not cramp my toes. So this review is more about sizing and overall impressions.

This design perplexes me. As a few other reviews have stated, this shoe becomes narrow at the "bunion" area and then gets even more narrow at the toe. They have the profile from midfoot to toes of a cowboy boot almost. What I don't understand is why make them so tight or narrow when you have the second BOA to be able to adjust that area in if you want. My foot is wider than normal and I can't even tighten the boa at the midfoot bc the shoe is already so tight. My Hyperflex fit perfectly and allow for adjustment. These should have had a Wide version available if they were going to add second boa and make the shoe so narrow. Stay away from this model if your foot runs on the wider size. I even ordered them a half size larger thinking that would compensate for lack of width but they too squeeze my foot when normally I'm good going down a half size from what I normally wear in a tennis shoe or dress shoe.

Feel and look are excellent, but I am having a hard time to take off the shoes, especially back dials with unlock position don't let my feet out. I have to pull the wires upward. Very annoying. I don't know only mine has a problem.

I would buy this product again if these points were sorted. The BOA system works well, the fit was good, the only problem I had was with the joint for the pull loop on the heel and the body of the shoe, this formed a hard line that rubbed my heel causing it to break the skin and bleed. This area could do with some extra padding. I expected better comfort from a top of the range shoe. Unfortunately I missed the return date for different reasons. I have always been very pleased with your product which I have used for over thirty years, with complete satisfaction.

I have only played one round in these shoes so far. I need a few more rounds. I am not sure I am a BOA fan just yet. The right shoe seemed to come loose as the round progress and I had to re-tighten it a few times. I played in very wet conditions and my feet and socks were perfectly dry.

Not wide enough and there seems to be a "ring" around the inside close to the edges that very uncomfortable. I don't think I'd walk 18 holes wearing them. They were sent back

I've had my FJ Boa Tour Alpha for just short of 3 months now. Firstly they are comfy and perform very well. I love the Boa system and the outers are quality. I do have some issues though, the lining around the heels has worn through on both shoes already, the footbed inside is also badly worn on the right foot and has developed a hole, this is on the ball of my right foot and is where I push off when driving etc.
I walk every round so they do get a lot of use but for shoes that cost this much I'm a little disappointed that they are so badly worn on the inside already.
The outers still look great but the inside not so great.

I walk 18 holes 3 times a week so great Shoes are critical. My last pair of Footjoys, Tour X were excellent, but my new pair of Footjoy Tour Alpha are NOT excellent. They seem heavier than the Tour X shoes, are harder to put on even though they both are the BOA model.

It's a very nice shoe but is very "stiff" (not flexible) and not very "cushy" on the inside.

Conceptually, these shoes should be amazing. I bought them as I have wide feet and I could get a wide size. They fit OK but are not as comfortable as I'd expected. I don't understand why FootJoy make such a narrow toe box in a wide fitting shoe. Firstly, a golfers feet swell during the round. Provide room in the toe box for that to happen. Secondly, people with wide feet do not have a pointy or long toe finish like the norm. Our toes are more square. If these shoes were more square in the toe box, it would make the world of difference. They're certainly well made but the fit could be way better. At least they'll be usable for me.

Nice looking shoe, provides lots of support.
I've use them for 4 rounds so far, 3 of those rounds I walked all 18.
So far, the shoes are quite uncomfortable. My feet have been sore after each round the next morning.
I won't give up on them, but if they don't conform to my feet in next 2-3 rounds, I'll have to abandum them.

I bought them for the insoles, but for some reason the left one hurts my foot near big toe and where the lace comes together on the top.

Only had it for a few months & my first day playing 18 holes in them it was painful at the end of my tee time. Whipped my shoes down & I noticed blue dye all over the shoes. It's my second pair with Footjoy & I'm not sure if I'm going to go three for three.

Good solid boot, but Boa system is hard to open and close. The flap that overlaps the shoe does not loosen or tighten properly without manually pulling the Boa laces. I own several pair of Footjoy Boa shoes and love them . Not a fan of this style.

I have owned a number of Footjoy shoes with the boa system, and have always been more then happy with them. Unfortunately I find this system doesn't tighten the lower front of the shoe. In hindsight, for this reason I feel the dual boa would be better.

I want to start off by saying that these shoes are very durable and allow great stability throughout every point in the swing. Unfortunately, FootJoy decided to have the outermost spikes of the shoe protrude outside the sole of your foot. After a few swings in them, the outside of my front foot started to ache because when I would transfer my weight and finish on the side of my front foot, the spike area would dig into my foot. It doesn't help that this area is ROCK HARD so it's extra painful. Couldn't imagine wearing these a full round and never will.

I would like to start this review by saying I wore DNA foot joys and they were the best golf shoes I ever wore. They were comfortable beyond belief and they lasted for years. I was hoping that purchasing the alpha boa would be a good replacement for my DNA.
I waited until I played five rounds before I wrote this review.
To start with they provide great support, however, they are very uncomfortable, and my feet are tired by the end of my round of golf. The main issue is that my feet feel the row of cleats on both sides of the shoe so much that I feel there is no padding in the insole to prevent this and it becomes very uncomfortable, especially by the end of the round. I am very disappointed in this shoe there is no comparison to the DNA shoe, especially for the price I paid for the ALPH BOA.

Day 1 - Blisters and a Blacked toenail and before someone says you have the wrong size its exactly the same size as my last pair.
Not to give up, I have persisted with them (7 rounds later), hoping they will break in, only to finish every round with sore feet.
Definitely not a shoe I would recommend.
Disappointing for the price and the affect on my game.
