So far, so good. 200lb runner, 30 miles a week, sub 22 5k. I have a pair of Nike carbon fiber race shoes, and I liked the idea of a carbon fiber shoe for longer/harder training runs, not just racing. The skyward is a great combo of cushioning and responsiveness, and so far, it's exactly what I'd hoped for. It leaves my feet feeling a little less battered after harder runs, and I think it will turn out to be a good injury-prevention shoe. It could be a little more stable, but all in all, I think Hoka nailed it. It's a bigger toebox than the Bondi (I take a 13w in Bondi), and the overall fit is just a little larger and more comfortable, more like the old Hokas. It seems light enough to race in, but I haven't tried that yet. Planning on getting another pair.

I'm 6'5" around 245 and I've been running in Clifton 9's most recently up to 10 miles at a go. These shoes are amazingly comfortable over the Clifton's for me and I won't be switching to something else probably ever. These shoes also somehow decreased my average mile pace by a minute so that's great too.

I am 71 years old and a runner who started late in life. I have been wearing Bondi's for years but nothing as great as the Skyward X. These are by far the most comfortable running shoes yet. What can I say. I'll leave you with...I honestly feel like I can fly!!! Love these!!

As a longtime fan of the Bondi line, I was excited to try these. With even more support, I expected even more comfort. Unfortunately for me, the added cushion resulted in less stability in my ankles. I could myself actively trying to maintain a proper step. I also found the size of the shoe to cause a greater chance of getting caught on uneven pavement, etc. Planning to send mine back.

I am a Clydesdale runner and have run in Bondi's for many years. I was a bit skeptical at first about the Skyward X because of the weight and I had tried the Bondi X a few years back and really didn't like that shoe at all. The online reviews have all been very positive, so I bought a pair. Currently have 100km on them and really enjoy the shoe. Most of my runs are zone 2 and these are perfect for those runs. I am able to pick up the (relative) pace without feeling the weight. Feel that I need a different shoe for speedwork. Highly recommend the Skyward X - Hoka did a really nice job with this one!

I started getting compliments within 20 minutes of putting them on. The cashier at the market was so interested; especially when I told him how comfortable they are. Bought three more pairs for birthday presents. Bye bye Nike after 30 years I have a new favorite!

I've been using Cliftons for street runs for several years, but the Skyward X takes cushioning to an advanced level. Whereas the bottoms of my feet would start complaining after about 2 hours in the Cliftons, it's the rest of me that does the complaining now. The feet and knees are happy as punch. After a couple more months with the Skywards, I suspect the rest of me will be smiling.......Great job Hoka!

The carbon fiber plate in the midsole makes all the difference. The spring is amazing. Very stable for such a thick sole. It light, well made and great colors. Maybe the best Hoka ever. However sizing still runs small. Other than that a very innovative shoe.

Love this shoe, wish they had other color options than the six they have. Bolder and less pastel.

The Skyward X reminds me of putting on my first pair of Hokas, that feeling of, "DANG!" These shoes are super lightweight and have tremendous cushion and excellent support. Highly recommend.

I recently bought a pair of Hoka Skyward X running shoes. They were a little on the pricey side, but in my opinion, they are well worth the money. They fit perfectly, and I haven't had any heel pain since switching to this pair. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in the market for walking/running shoes.
I'd also recommend:

One of the most comfortable shoes ever made. The sole is very tall and you feel like you are 2 inches taller, but it also feels like you are walking on clouds. I have tried all of the "Cloud" feeling type shoes and these ones are by far the best. You can walk or run long distances and not feel as fatigued. It is hard to explain how these feel, they really are truly you have to try to believe.

I purchased these after a visit with my podiatrist who recommended I immediately switch my footwear due to arthritis in one of my toes. I have to admit, I absolutely feel like a clown wearing such huge-soled sneakers (I'm more of a Vans and Docs kind of guy) but these shoes are absolutely the most comfortable things I've ever worn in my life. I was drawn to them bc of the carbon fiber plate in the sole. I feel like I'm walking in lower gravity, which feels fantastic. I've only had these shoes a couple of days and I'm already trying to figure out how to afford more!

Most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn AND keeps me from over pronating!! Though considered to be a neutral shoe, I’ve found these to be even more supportive than my designated stability shoes. Absolutely love them!

These shoes fit great and have really soft comfortable insoles. My arches and heels were sore from hiking and I wore these afterwards to walk my dog - It's like the pain just dissipated into the shoes!

I'm 6'7" and 230 lbs, and this is hands down the comfiest shoe I've ever worn. The cushioning is unreal it handled both my training runs and marathon without beating up my legs. Despite being super soft, it still feels stable and responsive. If you're a bigger runner looking for max comfort, this shoe is a game changer. It's one thick shoe! Not a paid review incase anyone is wondering!

I don't do a huge amount of reviews period BUT these shoes are worth it!!! I don't even know where to begin.. I would say start with trying these shoes out for yourself.. I find these shoes VERY COMFORTABLE for long runs, daily runs, recovery runs and tendonitis recovery runs, which is what I have.. I am not an expert runner but I have been running for more than 10 years and I have NEVER felt anything like these shoes on my feet.. They are extremely cushioned with a very nice forefoot arch for forefoot runners. If you are a walker, you can easily glide to 10k steps a day with these on with just about 0 discomfort. I would highly recommend these shoes for daily trainers and walkers... Job well done team Hoka!!!
