These are everything I've wanted in an outdoor shoe for a very long time. I have wide feet and foot issues caused by an old injury, and the Hoka sole is what works for me. These Hopara 2 shoes with the netting over the sandal will be a great improvement over my old Keen sandals, as I detest getting slugs in my sandals when walking through wet grass.... just sayin'. Anyway, I did find the feel of the shoes to be a bit funky in the first couple of wearings. I needed to loosen the laces and the straps and walk around for a bit before tightening things back up. That helped. There was still an odd feeling of a zero drop, which I didn't find comfortable. The solution was to break the sole in a bit by bending them backward a couple of times. That made them much more flexible. These shoes will now be able to take me on long hikes across rugged terrain, and I won't need to worry about getting caught in downpours. The comfort level of these shoes is OUTSTANDING, and even more supportive than the Bondi 6. I am hoping that Hoka makes a winter version of this shoe, because this adjustable fit is vastly superior to the Stinson ATV6 in every way. Simply put, I love these shoes.

Hoka, you have outdone yourselves on these Hopara 2s!!!! Grippy soles capable of taking on all terrains? Check! Adjustable enough for these wide feet? Check! Good for wet or dry conditions alike? Check! Responded to customer reviews for the original Hopara? Check! Same phenomenally comfortable Hoka sole? Check! Netting to keep out the slugs and stones while keeping the feet cool and dry? I started looking to add a new everyday summer shoe. ( My Newports are still great, and for and serious outdoor activities they will be the go to! But, wife is not a fan of the look.) In my search I found the Hopara 2, It has the look and feel of a sneaker, but seems like it will be just as at home on or off the road, wet or dry. The comfort is great. I had to go 1/2 size up. Toe box is wide and provides adequate protection from roots and rocks. The mesh is great for debris, but not sand. I haven't had them long enough to speak to the durability, however, the build quality seems quite good. Finally, I like the look! They don't look like water shoes or sandals, but they will do the work of both.

Great fit and look. I'm giving a 4/5 on comfort because it did take a couple of weeks to "break in" the sole. I had a few blisters until then. It's just something to be aware of. But other than that, I love the shoe!
