The Hoka SKYLINE-FLOAT X has the potential to be the best Hiking shoe from Hoka, *if* they had a wider toe box. The shoe is significantly narrower then my Speedgoat and Stinson. That being said: I love the upper material - the right combination of stretchiness and foot snugness/support. The sole is a full-length virbram with deep lugs and a very grippy rubber compound. I prefer the full-length vibram sole as it provides better protection to the shoe sole (from ground hazards) and also better grip when trying to traverse rocks or logs. As a result of the narrow toe box, I am returning my Skyline. If Hoka were to release a wide version I would immediately buy the Skyline in a wide version.

Hoka was on my podiatrist's footwear list so I figured I'd give these a shot. They make my plantar fasciitis much less noticeable than Merrell shoes. I think the big heel area looks a little strange but the comfort more than makes up for it.

As a first time HOKA customer, I was blessed to pick these as my first pair of daily work and light hiking shoes. I live in a very rural area of southeastern WA, right on the Snake River border with Idaho. One store, with a limited variety of styles (mostly hardcore running enthusiasts. In the Lewis/Clark valley.) I have a narrow low volume size 12 foot and found the Skyline fit like a glove with very little if any break-in required. 2 months of 10 hour days on warehouse concrete, up and down stairs and ladders and the fit and comfort has remained consistent. Durability will be the long-term test, but at this point I have not experienced any of the issues some others have described. Ordering a second pair in a different color just to keep things interesting. Highly recommend!

I love these for hiking on the red rocks, the only complaint I have is the laces they don't say tied. I had to replace them, not a big cost but I shouldn't have to.

Very comfortable I work retail so I am on my feet 10+ hours a day. I switched to these from the speedgoat I really like how these seem to have a good cushion. My only negative is the laces they are impossible to keep tied. I would rate the laces 1 star.

Love how they perform, feel and look (they make your ugly feet look sexy). It's the only brand I'm gonna buy from now on.

Why I like them: 1. Width is perfect for C+ to D width feet. 2. True sizing. 3. Great rolling motion for hiking. 4. Slightly more cushion than Speedgoat 5, almost the same cushion as Stinson 6. 5. Vibram sole has far-apart-spaced lugs that clear mud easily. 6. Speedgoats and Stinson both caused blisters on the side of, or under little toe knuckle/metatarsal head- Skylines don't. Negatives: minor issues, but: 1. laces are round and slippery to start. After using for a week, double knotting works fine. 2. Shoe uppers are a little heavy and probably wont dry quickly. They're not too hot, just a bit heavy. Not really a negativethey hold my feet better than speedgoats.

My Bondi 5s were a lifesaver to my surgical career. Stood in them 8-10 hours/day without my prior pain. In 2020, I ordered 3 pairs of the current Bondi generation. You must have changed the width “last.” These were all too tight on the lateral side of my midfoot/base of 5th metatarsal. Sent two back, gave one to my son. Tried one more time with a high end hiker. Too tight midfoot. I wish you had a size E width. Oh well. I bought same size On Cloud hiker now. No midfoot pain whatsoever. Hmmm. Different width design.
I'd also recommend:
Found a great OnCloud hiker - similar idea - fits my width.

Overall great shoes and I love the colors too. Only issues I have is I have to tie them really tight to keep my heel from feeling like it's coming out. And the laces are round, to me they just never feel like they'll stay and you need to double knot them.

Tried several models and this was far and away the best for a lower-volume fit.

These shoes have surpassed my expectations. I ordered them with the hope that I could get rid of the orthotics and so far I have been able to NOT wear my orthotics at all. I just got home from a week-long trip to Disney where we walked A TON. There was never a need for orthotics. The shoes are extremely comfortable and have been a great surprise thus far.

Color was horrible sent them back for an exchange but I have not gotten an email on the exchange being completed or anything shipped to me. So keep your tracking number if you do a return so you can find it otherwise you are at their mercy. See what happens if I get my money back or the shoes I was exchanging fir

I got these a few days ago, and I have to say, the design is what Ive liked most about them. The colors are super cool bold and subtle at the same time, so they're cool to wear for different occasions. They have a great modern vibe that catches attention without being too flashy, which I love. Quality-wise, these shoes are rock-solid like all Hokas Ive had. You can really feel the attention to detail in every part of them. The materials feel premium, and there's this reassuring sturdiness to them that tells me they'll hold up well, even with regular wear. I've walked quite a bit in them, and so far, they're showing no signs of wear and tear. The fit is snug and supportive, and walking around, I never have to worry about slipping or sliding. You can tell they've been designed more for outdoor adventures, although they feel ok at the gym, or just walking around the city. That said, I do wish they were a tad more comfortable. Don't get me wrong, they're not uncomfortable by any means, but they don't have that extra cushy feel that some of the brand's other models have. If you're used to that soft, almost bouncy comfort, these might feel a bit firmer. Overall, I'm pretty happy with these sneakers. They look awesome, feel durable, and give me a lot of confidence when I'm out and about. Just wish they had that extra bit of comfort to make them perfect.

I like the looks , the comfort is not a 100 % , feel tight and the shoe laces become untie pretty frequently

Comfortable on a ten mile hike right out of the box. The only negative is those darn slippery round laces that wont stay tied, even when double knotted. And you cant change them out for flat laces because the lace guides are sized just for these round laces.

Super comfortable, very cushioned, great for running and light hiking. Excellent traction. I'd have given 5 stars but they are just a bit roomy, and don't have the secure feeling I'm accustomed to from Hokas. I'll buy another pair, though.

Wear it all the time the fit and functionality of it were exactly as I had hoped. Good heel toe transition with great breathability I work 8 hrs and have no sweat.
