Just finished the Camino hike in Spain and my Lone Peaks were great. On Trails, Roads through Cobblestones these shoes did not disappoint. Big shoes box with Zero Drop, light with great support. Love this shoe!

Altra makes great shoes. I love the wide toe box, so comfortable.

Did not fit on my hands very well, especially while cooking. Were great for throwing at the cat, if I had a cat. I do not recommend driving with them on your hands, as much as I love my new car.

I have a not only a wide toe box, but also a wide mid-foot near the outer arch and heal. This is the only wide toe box shoe I have found that is also made in wide. Honestly, I could even have the rear of the sole a little wider (since that is where laces can secure the foot) and that would be fine by me.
I am a forefoot runner and love the lone peaks. I have started wearing poditry essential toe spacers in the shoes as well. I find I don't need to size up to wear the spacers. Running with them definately activates different muscles and I am working on building to longer times, similar to when I started running in the zero drop, lone peak 5's.

Please make these colors nature again like dark green, brown, blue, tan, gray. Those were so cool. I mean bottom line, I'm hooked. I've bought a pair if not multiple of each Lone Peak generation. But please more options.

Finally a trail running shoe that fits right! I've always had trouble with fitness shoes fitting my foot shape properly: my third and forth toes inevitably feel cramped and end up rubbing against the way-too-narrow toe-box. Not so with the Altras! These are very comfortable and fit my foot shape much better with the nice wide toe-box. I spend a few days trying them out on the treadmill to get used to them. I've worn zero-drop shoes before, so it wasn't too difficult of a transition for me. This past week I tried them hiking in Vermont, and I was really impressed. We did a short trail with a muddy, snow-covered section on a steep hill. These shoes gripped perfectly the entire time, and I felt confident going up and then back down the slick trail.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. My foot is now shaped the way nature intended. I bought the Lone Peak 6 a year ago, now I own the Lone Peak 8.

I use these shoes to hike, bike, and just daily general use. The wide toe box lets your feet expand like they naturally should. I got rid of all my Nike, puma, and Adidas.

These shoes feel a little narrower than my current Timp 1.5's. But Inthink they will feel better once broken in.

I bought the 8s to replace my 6s after many miles and multiple competitions. Overall enjoy the new updates to the shoe. I would prefer some different color options, but overall these are excellent.

I started my journey with Altra Lone Peak 5 and hiked the tread about 1/2 gone. I was actually looking at different brands because the buzz in the hiking community was that Altra had done away with the iconic wide toe box. While I was busy wearing out my lone peak fives I tried on the sixes and sevens and to me it did feel to tight in the toe box and was a visibly smaller design.
Altra thankfully went back to the wide toe box that the fives had and I love my new Lone Peak 8 trail runners!

I haven't gotten to go on any good distance run or hike as of yet with it being winter time, but so far these are the best feeling shoes I've ever had. They are light weight and you can hardly tell you have them on, tje traction is amazing on ice for certain. These shoes were sent to me to review but my next pair will definitely be a purchase. And I will update when I go on a substantial hike. But I'm 100% positive that my review will only tell you tonget these shoes.

These are the most comfortable running shoes I've owned so far. They fit perfectly, true to size, and don't take long at all to "break in". I love the style of these too!

I owned 6 pairs of the lone peak 6 and absolutely wore them everyday doing everything from hiking, working out and to work. I only bought 1 pair of the 7 and felt it wasn't as good. The lone peak 8 looked closer to the 6 and was a little firm at first and it bent them a little up and down and side to side and it loosened them up and feel great. I love the bright yellow!

I wear size 13, last years lone peak were to short for me and since they don't make 1/2 sizes, I was out of luck. this year, I am in! Thanks for making them a little longer.

I received these in exchange for my honest opinion. They are very comfortable; love the zero drop and I have actually started using them as my daily shoes since I am on my feet all day walking and up and down stairs. The extra toe room makes them even more comfortable. They are also very light for when I am run. At the end of a long trail, my feet don't feel tired from the weight of the shoes. I wear a 10W and the fit great. Wish there were better color options though.

I like these shoes. They have a nice wide toe box, zero drop, and durable construction. If I had any criticism, it would be that the padding is a little thick, as I am used to and enjoy almost none.

I work with an airline and I’m on my feet for the better part of 12 hours. I had purchased a pair of Hoka and they couldn’t stand up to the wear and tear of the industry. I have 6 pair of Ultra shoes 5 being from the Lone peak series and they are hold up very well at work. I don’t think I’ll ever buy a different brand. If you wear a 12 go down a half size for the toe box

The Altra Running US Men's Lone Peak 8 are nice! These shoes fit true to size, I got a 10.5 and usually get a 10.5 and they fit perfect. They have a nice amount of room in the toe box and fit great. I really like the zero drop. I find these much easier to run/walk in compared to traditional shoes. The zero drop is better overall for the body. The colors aren't the greatest, but the overall shape is really nice. I find these super comfortable and durable! I would absolutely buy these and recommend them. I did get these shoes for free in exchange for my honest review, thank you Altra!

I recently got to try out a pair of Altra Lone Peak 8 trail running shoes, and I couldn't be happier with these bad boys. These shoes are an absolute game-changer for my outdoor adventures. The grip on various terrains is exceptional, providing me with the confidence to tackle any trail, whether it's muddy, rocky, or steep. The lightweight design feels like a second skin on my feet, allowing for effortless movement and agility. Plus, the durability is top-notch; these shoes have held up through countless runs without showing any signs of wear and tear. Their wide toe box and zero drop makes them one of the most comfortable running shoes I've owned. Overall, I highly recommend these trail running shoes to anyone looking for comfort, performance, and reliability on the trails. They've definitely earned their spot as my go-to footwear for outdoor excursions!

I switched to Altra Lone Peak series 2 years ago and I love what they offer from a technical perspective for trail and ultra running. I'm somewhat agnostic of the color scheme (low on the priority list from a functionality perspective). Version 6 has been my go-to trail and ultra shoe. I was not a big fan of the additional padding on the heel collar on version 7 (but obviously a very small complaint). I just bought version 8 and here are my initial thoughts on the shoe (since I've only had a few runs in them):
Fit: overall great for my foot. There is a good heel lock, comfortable midfoot, and ample spacing in the toe box. Lengthwise the shoe seems similar to version 6 and 7. The width seems a little more narrow but only slightly.
Comfort: These work straight out of the box. The cushioning seems a little more sturdy than version 6 but is incredibly responsive and gives you a great trail feel. It's exactly what you would expect from a 0 drop shoe.
Traction: The traction seems as reliable as version 6 and 7 but I've only tested it in muddy conditions. I ran version 6 and 7 through all different types of conditions and terrains and they never failed me.
Durability: It's too early to tell but if they're anything like version 6 then I'll be happy. I used 1 pir of version 6 for two 100 milers (+training) and they held up incredibly well.
Overall: Great zero drop trail shoe for gnarly events or short training sprints. I'll definitely be using this pair in my upcoming 100 miler in the spring.
