These are the only shoes I buy. I wear these to work and everywhere else. I hate your color choices. The new Lone Peak 8 are terrible in the selection. Please provide a simple black color choice. Not everyone wants vibrant colors.

I bought this shoe as a daily driver. After two nights of walking the dog I tossed them in the closet. The mid foot and heel cup are entirely to wide. To get a decent fit you have to over tighten the laces. The shoe does not break in a natural manner under your foot. Go a full size larger or your toes will hit the front of the toe box when your toes bend. The padding around the heel is to high and digs into ankles harshly even when wearing really nice socks. The tongue creates hot spots. Overall the materials and fit of this generation of shoe is a complete disappointment. Maybe the next owners will care about the end product.

This is my 3rd pair and 3rd generation of Lone Peaks starting with the LP 4.5, the LP 6, and now the LP 8. From a consistency perspective this is Altra's most consistent model when it comes to fit, features, and overall feel. I've tried and owned other models/generations (Timp 3 thru 5; Superior 4 - 5, and the Montbell) and the variance between generations was always a crap shoot. The LP is the only Altra shoe I can buy and walk away knowing it will fit/feel relatively the same. I'm not a fan of the 'sheen' on LP 8 vs the 6, and color choices remain sketch hence the 4-star rating. The tread feels more aggressive/edgy than my LP 6 and slightly more durable based off the first 50-miles I've logged in them

I have been a size 11.5 in these for the last few years. I ordered these recently and they felt more like size 12. I went with size 11 and they fit perfect although a little snugger than I would prefer. still a great shoe!

Shoe laces in 6 and 7 are too short, you guys changed the eyelets so I need all holes including top two that I use with a heel lock pattern. Are the laces longer on the 8's or can we request longer laces? I still have some lone peak 1's.

Feels a little more stiff than previous versions. But still really similar. Toe box is great, plenty of room.

These are absolutely great trail shoes. The design and feel on my feet felt incredible. Dare I say, " I could run like the wind blows"

Lone peaks generally are the most comfortable shoe I own. I currently wear lone peak 6s in black (would be happy also with grey) when lone peak 7s came out, color combinations had me going back to buy an extra pair of 6s; I have waited to see Lone Peak 8s, they are even more disappointing. Stuck on 6, lets see what Lone Peak 9 brings (I notice I am not alone in having reservations) :-p I wear them not only to run. Buy them of course if they suit you I have no doubt about their comfort. (while at it give us Vibram soles)

This is the most comfortable hiking shoe ever. I have never owned a pair of shoes that serve as a hiking boot. These are light and flexible. I prefer a wide toe box shoe and these fit so well. There is plenty of room in the toe box. My feet felt great after hours of hiking on gravel and dirt. These have proven to be a reliable choice.

Despite them running a bit large, I still found the shoes to be comfortable when going on a run. I was expecting a different color but that is my mistake - the brown color is a bit dull which is something I do take into account with my shoes. Overall solid product!

Tired of the comically bad color ways. Please make some normal color ways. Black and black, black and white, black and gum etc. the color ways for the men's LP8 are all more hideous than the next.

How do the colors keep getting worse. Lone peaks have been the best trail runners out there. Unfortunately the colors continue to get worse. Just do normal colors that match.

Why do you keep making these horrible colors? Why not some solid basic colors, at least one solid black shoe? These are some of the ugliest color patterns I have ever seen. I want to buy these shoes, I want to wear them, the colors are preventing me and many many others from doing so.

I really wish yall would go back to making the same shoe as the lone peak 3-5s. Those were perfect shoes in every way. Is it too much to ask for a normal color scheme? Do we need 7 colors a shoe? Cmon

Idk how many times you guys are going to go through this. The color schemes are horrible and they just keep getting worse each year.

Absolutely love these on the trails. Went 13 miles in snow, mud, slush in mountains and felt in control the whole time. I like a true ground feel but need the extra protection on trails and these provide both. Work well for hikes and general adventuring. Love everything about them

I just returned from a 40 mile hike and the shoes performed great. The extra width in the toe allowing my feet to spread felt amazing without feeling oversized. The grip/traction was better than expected. I have about 80 miles on mine and they look new still.

I have about eight pairs of altras and I use them for running, walking, gym and work. The work part is only when I can find an all black one. I like the lone peak best. Great job.

I needed to find an alternative to Hoka Speedgoats (for hiking and mountain treks) because toe room was becoming a problem. I bought a pair of Topo Mtn Racer 3's that I thought would be it, and then MEC had the Lone Peak 8's on sale so I bought them too. I have to say that of those three shoes, the Lone Peak 8 has become by far my favourite. First, with other shoes, I frequently experienced stubbing of my toes when hitting a root or rock with my foot, and I've never had that with the Lone Peaks, it has more protection. Second, they're made of sturdier stuff than my Topo Mtn Racers, the Mtn Racers developed a small tear in the mesh after day 4 on a trek, but no issues with the Lone Peaks so far. Third, while they have less cushioning than the Hokas, and my feet tend to be sensitive to pounding on the trail, I haven't experienced any discomfort with the Lone Peaks. To date I've used them on 30+ km hikes, hikes on muddy and rocky trails, hikes on a light snow cover, and no issues. I'm very happy with them.

Either my feet are shrinking or these Lone Peaks are bigger than older versions. Great shoes, more durable than the Superiors. The tongue could be thicker/laces wider. The laces cut into top of foot.

I bought the Lone Peaks for light hiking and tons of trail walking. Besides great fit, the traction seems more than adequate and the ground-hugging design gives me more stability than what I am used to.

I have worn through two pairs already this year. Quality and longevity have sharply decreased since the buyout but at least my favorite pair of shoes is back. PLEASE DONT CHANGE ANYTHING FOR THE NINE, unless you're going to make the sole last longer.

This is my 4th pair. I wear a woman’s 101/2 but the toe box isn’t as wide as the men’s. So I wear a Men’s 9. I always use an additional arch support in these shoes. The soles on these shoes wear out pretty quickly but the fit for me is what sells them.
