I've spent the summer trying everything to alleviate my sudden plantar fasciitis from orthotics to Hokas and several other brands recommended by lots of sympathetic folks. I do have weird feet. High arch and instep, wide toes somewhat narrow heel, and supinating gate. Until I got these Altra Egos, it felt like walking around with a thumbtack in my heel. Now finally relief! So grateful to the clerk at Tradehome that said - "just try these"! I thought the wide toe box was ugly- but my teen age grandkids LOVED them! The colors are great. Turns out that zero drop was exactly what I needed to heal my heel, while the extra cushioning helped me be able to start really moving again. I recommend them to everyone who's tried everything else and to everyone who doesn't want to have to try again and again to help the foot pain go away. ( wish they cost less- I'd have them in every color) Thanks again to that clerk with upside down name tag. And thanks Altra for understanding feet.

Love this show! When are you going to bring the pink and blurple colors back? The pink is the best!

I am not a fan of the look of the shoe on my foot whatsoever.but it is extremely comfortable for running and feels like it really absorbs shock well.

Two years ago I received total reconstruction surgery on my right foot and they recommended brand H, but by standing for a long time, working for more than eight hours, it reaches a point where I get tired and my foot starts to hurt. So I'm looking for recommendation and comfort. You recommend this type of tennis Shoes?

I'm a casual half / marathon runner with bunions, and finding running shoes that don't irritate my bunions is the bane of my existence. This shoe was blew my mind as soon as I tried them on at an expo. Right away, I noticed the comfort from the toe box. It has been the perfect shoe for easy/recovery runs and building up mileage. It is soo cushioned, so I gave a pair to my mom as well as she lives in a city and walks a lot. Worth the price for the comfort and the luxurious feel.

These are the shoes which have helped my plantar fasciitis to begin healing -- I had some zero drop shoes with very little cushioning. Didn't realize I could get ones with more cushioning for walking on paved roads....so was delighted to find these! They keep my foot/ankle from turning outward and reinjuring my foot over and over again. Finally able to enjoy walking again!

I have wide feet (D), high arches, high instep and hallux rigidus with a big bone spur on the top of my big toe joint along with pain under the big toe (ball of foot). I have not been able to find any shoes that I can walk in without significant pain to the top and bottom of my foot. (Hokas, Brooks, New Balance, Dansko, etc none work for my foot). I need a rocker bottom, which this shoe has, cushioning on the bottom, depth for high instep and width for wide feet. While this shoe doesn't come in wide, it is just (barely) wide enough. It is by far the most comfortable shoe I've had in years and I'm hoping it will allow me to bypass surgery for the hallux rigidus. Thank you Altra. Please keep making this model high instep, rocker bottom, anatomically shaped like a foot. (If you could make them in wide, that'd make them perfect). Also, men's shoes do not fit me the instep is never as high even though they are wider.

This is my second season in the Olympus, and this year is slightly improved over their first iteration. My heel slipped a little in last year's model which made hill running troublesome, but they resolved that. And the toe box is roomy enough, that my Morton's Neuroma doesn't act up even after 10+ mile runs. I did get half a size bigger than my usual running shoe size. After I got used to the thick soles, I think the shoes are great if you are piling on the miles - good for the joints. Feet problems, etc. My only complaint is that my feet get a little hot in very warm weather, but I'm yet to meet a shoe that offers the support and comfort that don't get hot on hot asphalt, so not worth docking a star. I will probably buy another couple of pairs to get me to my fall marathon so I don't have to switch shoes before race day.

I have struggle with plantar fasciitis for years and could not find a shoe which was comfortable. THIS IS THE SHOE! Feels great, has so much cushioning on the ball of the foot. Perfect for high impact step aerobics and running.

I've purchased several styles of Altra shoesParadigm 6, Olympus 4, Provision 7but the Olympus 2 is by far the best fitting. The toe box is especially roomy; it's not tapered at the toe like other styles so has more room for swollen toes after a long walk. I usually wear a size 9 in a sport shoe but I did have to order a half size larger for all of the Altra shoes I've ordered. I just wish this style came in a navy blue, dark purple, or black because I wear them so often that they get dirty fast. This is the second pair of Olympus 2 I've purchased so I hope they don't try to change it in any way.

The Via Olympus 2 is the best shoes I have ever had. I used to wear Hoka's and I liked them but my toes were always pinched. Then I discovered Altra shoes and feel in love. For me the Via Olympus 2 is like walking on a cloud.

I had several pairs of the original Via Olympus as my podiatrist recommended for Morton's neuroma. I decided to buy the Olympus 2 because I felt rubbing and tightness against one of my baby toes over time in the Via Olympus 1. So that problem has been solved with the Via Olympus 2 because they seem wider in the toe region. However, the new design does not include as many tie holes as the original. And so it is hard to tighten these shoes since you can longer customize. In fact, the tying region is much shorter in the updated version than the Via Olympus 1. The new version is softer in the footbed. Even with the criticism above, these are the first shoes that have given me relief from the terrible nerve pain in my toes. I hope that Altra will continue to work on the design of the Via Olympus and pay attention to the critiques in these reviews. I appreciate the generic response from Altra, but would love to actually hear some more specifics as to the rationale to the design changes and whether there is a plan to continue to improve these shoes.

I've been telling everyone I know to get these shoes. I usually wear a 7-7.5 depending on brand the fit finder told me 8. I wish I would have gone 7.5. Otherwise literally the best most supportive shoe I have ever worn.

I have suffered from plantar fasciitis and a ruptured plantar fascia for 2 yrs now. My local running store switched me from Hoka's to Altra in November last year and I'm never buying another brand again! They have literally given me back my life. I own the grey, black and white pairs.

This is exactly the running shoe I needed. It fits exactly right, including the necessary toe box width for my bunion. They are lightweight, and the cushioning is great. Perfect! I am about to order a second pair.

This brand was recommended by a coworker who has similar fitting and arch issues. I'm on my feet 95% of the day with multiple stops and starts. I could hop and jog in this shoe at the startsomething I haven't been able to do on my feet for years. I wore them out of the shop and went jogging with my dog. It was exhilarating! I'm fine with the off white color.
