This shoe is really cute and comfortable. It is a little hard to get on and the tongue is a little too high. It has a tendency to roll inward at times. A shorter tongue would be a big improvement.

I bought these as an everyday, casual shoe and I love them! I needed a shoe that was comfortable to wear all day at work and something cute and casual to wear when going out places. I am a size 8.5, and initially ordered that size. When I got them, they felt a little too tight and a little too small. The tongue of the shoe is attached to the upper part of the shoe, so this may be why. So, I ordered a half-size bigger and got a 9. Now they fit great! I'd recommend ordering a half-size bigger. They do take a couple of wears to break in. But after wearing them out and about a few times, they are SO comfortable ... and cute! I always get asked where they are from when wearing them. I recommend this shoe to anyone looking for something a little fun and different!

Was hoping to use these as a light hiking shoe, but was disappointed in the lack of support. There is NONE. Had to buy inserts for some support. Otherwise, cute shoe. Not crazy about the lack of tongue. It is just solid fabric across the top. Makes it more difficult to get them on and it's just not the same tightness when tying them.

Comfortable shoes. Weird, completely tongue that isn't flexible at all.

I narrow foot and they were too big, since they are slip-ons they couldn’t be tightened because the laces are for show
and don’t do anything. I also found them difficult to get into..

I love the look of this shoe but it was just too narrow for me. I wish it came in a W....i generally wear a Medium.

Unfortunately rather than having a tongue, these shoes have an elastic opening, similar to a water / surf type shoe. This makes it pretty much impossible to get any kind of orthotic into them. Loved the color. They fit, but the elastic collar is a deal breaker.

These are awesome. Comfortable and multi purpose. I did need to get a half size up but otherwise they are perfect. I just ordered 2 more pair to have for when they are inevitable no longer available.

I was a bit hesitate to make my purchase based on the reviews and the fact that I have wide feet but glad I proceeded. Comfortable enough, purchased a 7.5. Since none of my local department stores carried this specific style, I tried a different type of shoe in a 8 but was too roomy. Love the colors, easy to match with my everyday outfits and great for outdoor activities. Explored a few national parks with these babies, no complaint.

Excited to wear these cute shoes! Was a little concerned about the slip on design, but no issue for me. These are easy enough to get on. Fit is true to size. Comfy so far!

Great hiking sneakers. The built in sock keeps my heel set on the side that has lifts. They get a lot of compliments. Im so happy with them! They also shed dirt. The sole looks new after a week in the woods.

I loved my two previous pairs of Alpine Sneakers. These
new ones look great, but the redesign with elastic all around the ankle, with no separate tongue, makes them very difficult, almost painful, to put on. Once on, they feel ok, but I find the toe box too wide. I'm keeping them, but disappointed.

One of the top eyelids came out after I wore them two times. Disappointed. I bought these with the intention they would be good work shoes. But I noticed the eyelet came out of the leather at work. I dont think this should happen considering the price of the shoes.

Nice look, terrible struggle to put on...I would have NEVER thought and wish that I'd not purchased. The material around the ankle (designed to slip on) is tight and ridged). It is so very frustrating to get these shoes on my feet! Again, they are attractive shoes but that's the only thing going for them.

My complaint regarding fit is that the instep is too tight/high or whatever. It's difficult to put on.

I bought a different pair of Merrells at an outlet store. I didn't want to spend $$ but did

These were just delivered and they are so comfortable I cant believe it. I love the attached tongue so they are actually slip on shoes. Its great that you can tighten them with the shoestrings. I love the color scheme too. I might just order another pair in a different color.

I am soooo disappointed in the Alpine Sneaker Recraft, which has been so recrafted that its not even nearly the same shoe. Ive bought a new pair of Alpine Sneakers every year for the past 4 years and was looking forward to the shoe I have absolutely fallen in love with. This one is not that. Its large and its clunky. The ankle collar comes up higher than any shoe Ive ever had and I miss the tongue. I mean, Im not a shoe expert, but I think if you completely change a shoe, you should just say its a new shoe and come up with a new name.

New design of my favorite shoe! The only thing I dont like is that you have to stick your foot through a fixed size opening. You can still tie to make it tighter. Its harder to get on but not enough that Id never buy again. Otherwise I love the shoe and this was a great color. Very comfortable! I will buy in the future again!

I ordered these because they looked very much like a pair that I bought several years ago that I wore out. These however are a slip on, the colors are different, and they come up higher on the back of my heel. I have a narrow heel. An issue with these is that since they are slip on, it is more difficult to tie them sufficiently well to compensate for my narrow heel. However, I like the colors which I find attractive. Also, the outer soles seems like they will be tougher than than those of the other shoes.

My job requires me to be on my feet for shifts 8-10 per day and since I purchased these Merrill shoes, my back pain has lessened and the heel pain has also improved. I also love the multiple colors on the shoe as well.

I bought the Alpine 83 Recraft and did not realize how "attached" the tongue really is. This sneaker actually has more of a built in "sock" which makes it hard to just slip on and off, as I like to do. My modus operandi: leave the laces a little loose - slip the sneaker on and get out the door.
On the plus side, once you work your foot into the "sock" the shoe is very comfortable, but I would not buy this again. It is too hard to put on for a casual walk to the mailbox.
NOTE: We have had Merrell sneakers with "attached tongues" before and could simply cut the fabric to loosen the tongue. You can not easily do that with this particular shoe.
PS I wish all colors came in wide. I wanted the peach and bought it in medium - the "sock" issue might not have seemed like such a big deal with a wider shoe.
