Buy these. Don't buy Hokas!
I bought Hokas and couldn't understand the hype. Sent back two sizes. I found the Ghost Max sooo much more cushiony and with a normal heel box. The Hokas, no matter what size had my heel flailing around. I highly recommend Ghost Max!

I wore the regular Ghost for many years, until my knees became arthritic (after meniscus surgery), so had to look for a neutral shoe with more cushioning (Hoka Bondi was the best choice). When I saw that Brooks came out with the Ghost Max, I decided to give them a go. Verdict: Brooks has really knocked it out of the park with the Ghost Max. Unbelievably comfortably cushioned, fits like a dream: plenty of room in the forefoot, snug in the heel, excellent arch support and cloud-like cushioning. Honestly, I don't think I've ever worn such comfortable shoes. I hope they don't change a thing with the design of this shoe as it is absolutely unimprovable as is. Would like to see more color options, but I am beyond thrilled with the Ghost Max.

I was a little hesitant to get these at first because they reminded me of Hoka's which I've had in the past but weren't nearly as comfortable as my Brooks. I normally wear Ghosts since the series 7 and have loved almost every edition after. Lately I've had a lot of health issues and injuries I am dealing with and not currently running or doing any high impact workouts. Also have a very bad case of plantar fasciitis where the cortisone shot didn't provide any relief. I've worn these for a few days and I am happy to say there are no regrets! When walking it propels your feet forward. They are still extremely light weight despite the bulkier look. They have also helped ease the pain in my heel from the plantar fasciitis. I definitely needed the extra support these shoes have provided. I have done quite a bit of walking in them and have nothing bad to say. I also don't have the issue of the shoe laces coming undone like I have with the regular ghosts. Highly recommend these shoes if you are a Ghost lover but wish you had a little more support.

Superior cushion. I am a nurse that is on my feet all day. These shoes are wonderful. Very comparable fit to Ghost and Glycerin with more cushion. I would say that they run about 1/2 size big.

Fantastic. This could be the best feeling Brooks out there! This will replace my Hoka shoes which are too soft and feel worn out very quickly.

My shoe size is normally a 8 1/2 wide in my Sketchers. Here it feels like a clown shoe. It even recommends you to size up. Why? When they are huge. If you're a 8 1/2 buy just a 8. Also if you think you have wide feet don't get the widest. Also it feels like you don't even feel the top bottom of your foot. I'm gonna look at another shoe. Hoping that'll fit.

I'm a Respiratory Therapist and have loved ghosts for many years now, I knew when I saw these I just had to have them and they are THE BEST. Its especially hard to find good shoes for me because i must have a wide toe box, these deliver that and they are so bouncy and cushiony you feel like you're walking on clouds. My feet and legs hurt way less since I've been consistently wearing these for a couple weeks! Thank you Brooks for always making the most amazing shoes.

I have very wide feet, severe pronation, nueromas, and customer orthotics. It took me a long time to find a great work/hiking/treadmill shoe - Brooks Ariel hit that out of the park. I needed another pair of shoes to "recover" in at home, since I cannot walk around the house barefoot with my feet. I decided to try the Ghost Max as they specifically listed they were good for nueromas. They are very soft and provide great cushion on my heels. They have less toe drop so it seems to help take pressure off my neuromas. They are nice and wide as well. I am enjoying them for sure especially because from the heel to the toe is so cushy. However, I don't think they would work well for me if I wanted to hike/use the treadmill in them as I get too much movement. But they are not meant to guide my foot like the Ariel does. Ghost max are my go to for lounging and giving my feet a comfortable break.

Love them so far! I have a very high arch and when I run the arch in the shoes meets my arch.

I have worn Brooks for years, but postpartum I struggled to find comfort in the shoes I once loved. After trying many other shoes, I finally tried the Ghost Max and instantly knew my search was over! They feels supportive and are very soft, but they're responsive enough that I still feel light on my feet when running.
I typically wear a 9.5 wide and was happy in a 9.5 in these.

By far my favorite running shoes to date! The cushion is incredibly lightweight and supportive without feeling clunky. The wide base width helps my feet touch the ground evenly for surprising stability. The shoe gently hugs your foot without restricting its structure. Ghost Max is affordable, light, supportive, and perfect in my opinion.

Very comfortable, supportive shoe.
I recently had to have a metatarsal joint rebroken and pinned.
These shoes provide all the support necessary for the healing process.
I wore them for many miles walking during a recent Disney trip with no issues.

These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I have plantar fasciitis and these shoes have made an incredible difference in my ability to stand and walk.

I have been running in Brooks Ghosts for countless years, so when the Ghost Max came out, I had to try it. I looked at the reviews and I decided to take a chance. These are now my new favorite running shoe! Super comfortable and cushiony. They offer a great ride from short runs to long training runs. I am hooked!
A note, they do run a bit wide. I typically buy a wide width shoe but am wearing a regular width shoe in the Ghost Max. They were a tiny bit tight on my baby toe, but one night of stretching was all they needed.

I read other reviews about the Max and decided to give it a try, expecting it would be my everyday shoe, not my running shoe. I've never worn the Ghost, always the Glycerin and I don't like to change things up. I purchased the Glycerin 21 at the same time-December '23.
I love the Max. It's a just right fit, good cushioning and great room in the toe box. I ran in the Glycerin 21 for a few weeks and decided to try the Max and prefer it for the reasons above. It also feels so light and springy and I don't think about my feet at all.
When I'm ready to order again it'll be the Ghost Max.
I'm 57 and ordered my usual Brooks size of 9.5 women's.

I love my new ghost max runners. Very comfortable. Took about a week getting them broke in. I feel like I could keep running. My feet don't feel tired. Would definitely recommend!

These are my nurse shoes. I have gotten close to 20,000 steps pain-free. I bought these a month or so ago and they're great! I want to buy a pair just to run around in while not at the hospital but everything is sold out! Please make more in many colors like the regular ghost :)

I run about 30-40 miles per week. With 85% of those miles in a daily trainer/work horse shoe. Up until now I have been in Hoka Clifton 9s, and while I enjoy the fit and responsiveness of those shoes (I would go back and forth between two pair) they would cause shin/calf pain for me and weren't the most comfortable on a long distance. I got fitted at a running store and they recommended these to me. I was nervous to switch but I'm so glad I did!!! These are slightly heavier than my previous dailies but they feel lighter. You can definitely feel the rocker motion and they help keep me off my heels. I've run a couple 20 mile runs in them and they have stayed comfortable throughout. The toe box is roomy, the cushion is comfortable but doesn't make me feel like I'm sinking, snappy enough to be quick and soft enough to be supportive. The fit is wonderful. I have no issues with them slipping, chafing my feet, causing blisters, or coming untied. I would 100% recommend them to any runner wanting a new daily do-it-all comfy shoe. The ONLY knock is that I would LOVE some updated color ways. I have Tuscany now which are very cute but I'm not too fond of any of the other options. I'm not one to buy a second pair of the same color once I retire a shoe so I'm hoping for new choices!!

As a heel striker runner this shoe took about a week to get used to so that I was landing more in the middle of my foot and rocking forward onto my toes. Now that I'm used to it, they feel great. I love the cushioning, and especially love the wider forefoot. It still fits snugly on my heel, but gives my toes the room they need to spread out. I even believe that a several years long problem with my second toe on my left foot has been solved just by increasing the width of the forefoot. Under the advice of doctors and shoe specialists I've tried both bigger shoes and smaller shoes to try and find a way to keep that second toe from getting smashed during my longer runs. Now with the extra width, I haven't had that problem.

So far so good! I like the fit even though they are a little bit too wide for me. I ordered an x wide since the last pair of Brooks I bought ran very small and narrow. I'm still keeping them because I have had my toes crushed in Hokas for too long in search of cushioning for knees and hips. These shoes seem to have it all as far as fit and comfort. As a Morton's neuroma sufferer I appreciate the lower offset of these. I wish Brooks would make more models with higher cushioning and lower offset! I would like to see more colors for wide sizes and just to adopt this technology to other models.

Best rocker shoes. Had to switch to rockers because I have stiff big toe. Other rockers were too think and clunky and I tripped a lot. My running feels like these are as close to the Ravennas I wore years ago. I can run again and I run happy! Please don't ever change these shoes!
