These are my 5th pair of Topos and new favorite. They have just the right amount of cushion, support and response. The fit is same comfort I've come to expect from Topo. It feels like all the best features of the best shoes have been combined in the MTN Racer 3. There's not much I can add that the pro reviewers haven't already said. I'm just thrilled that Topo finally makes a black trail shoe! I'm allergic to pink so I used a midsole marker to black out the shoes. It's the perfect look for runners who prefer subtle colors.

I wore these for about 470 miles on a section hike of the PCT. I had long days of 18-23 miles/day on dirt, gravel, talus, rocks etc and these shoes have held up so well. They feel cushioned but responsive and I love the black color! Finally a classy looking women's trail runner. I'm definitely picking up another pair

I love these shoes for hiking. The tread is grippy and secure. I need a wide toe box and these are great. I ordered 9 1/2 which is my typical hiking shoe size. They feel great but maybe 1/2 size bigger would be better, especially for hiking down steep trails and rocks. I have Morton's neuromas in both feet and these shoes work great. I wore Altra brand for 10 years but inconsistencies and poor quality control in the new models convinced me to find something else. I took these topos into my foot Dr before wearing them so he could help out if I needed an arch support. He was amazed at the support they had.

I love these shoes for hiking. I've previously worn the Ultraventure3, which also feels great, but I prefer the Vibram megagrip outsole on these shoes over the sole on the Ultraventure. The toe box shape is the same, and it's the shape that works best for my feet with arthritis in the big toe joints.

I adore Topo shoes, but decided to return this MTN Racer 3. It is a perfect trail shoe in most every way, but my foot prefers a zero or low drop shoe. I have a bunion on my right foot that gets unhappy easily. I thought these would be okay, but my feet felt better in the Terraventure 4 instead.

These shoes feel great. My only complaint is that the heel platform feels a little narrow sometimes compared to other Topo's. #sweepstakes

Il had read the reviews for the MaTn Racer 3 before they were available and was so anxious for them to be released. I bought them almost as soon as they were availablethe strange thing, and I don't know if there is a bit of defect or it is normal, but on both shoes there is excess fabric where the toe is connected on the inner foot side which gives me very bad hot spots on the base of my big toe joint. I really want to love these shoes but why is there such a bulky uncomfortable fabric just in that spot?

I wore these on the wonderland trail this past summer and I loved them, comfort- wise. But there is some hard plastic in the back of the heel that gouged my heel and gave me a giant blister. It happened on a steep downhill section, so it wasn't a typical heel rubbing situation. I don't typically get blisters, so this was unusual. A friend who tried the same model (and wears other Topo models) had the same issue, so I believe there's a design flaw.

These shoes are perfect for trail running and Adventure Racing! I use them for literally anything outside related. They drain perfectly and dry quickly. They have amazing grip on slick rocks, dirt, roots, and difficult terrain. I will no longer buy another shoe for trail running.

I work in clinical settings and am on my feet 10 hours a day. These shows do not hurt my feet. I also get on my elliptical and do 5-10ks several times a week. I sized up a half size and they fit comfortably. May have even been able to size up another half size too.

I virtually live in athletic shoes. I use them for daily wear and cycling, scootering, too. Last year I was looking for more comfortable athletic (tennis) shoes for a family member. I was advised to go to a local shoe store. When I arrived at the store I noticed the owner was wearing an athletic shoe style I had never seen before. The toe box was WIDE. Not too wide, but it looked just perfect. I asked her about them and tried on my size. Interestingly I usually wear a size 8 shoe, but with the Mtn Racer I got a size 8.5. As soon as I put them on, tied them, it felt like walking on clouds. And my toes felt really good. I bought 2 or 3 pair right there on the spot. Eventually in the next week I ended up with a total of 5 pairs in total. I did buy 3 white pairs because the shoe store owner told me the new colors would not include the style in white. (I hope they bring it back at some point). I've had days when I was working on cleaning out and doing some renovations on a friend's home for 3 months. At the end of each long day, I didn't even feel my feet at all. It was as if I hadn't done any climbing, walking, bending, etc. for hours at a time. These shoes, this style, is the best athletic shoe I've ever tried. And the way my toes are not squeezed together unnaturally is awesome. I wear "toe socks" and it's all just great. I will be buying this TOPO style again.

I was looking for a zero heel drop (like my first pair of Topo shoes) for my Europe trip.
These stated they are 3 heel drop with a good amount of cushion.
I wore these right out of the box, rain or shine walking for 2 wks, about 5-10 miles a day. My feet were not tired and soooo comfortable. Absolutely no corns or blisters even walking in the hot climate of Greece! My heel backs never had any rubbing issues either. I have narrow heels that cause shoes to fit badly. The best athletic shoes I've ever owned! My Nikes went into the garbage! When these became wet from rain, they were completely dried by the next day. A great shoe for Europe or any other place you want to walk a lot. Thank you.

Finally found a shoe that is wide enough in the toe box with high arch support and a narrow heal. No more blisters. On my second pair. Use for hiking and trail running. #sweepstakes

I have been plagued with lateral foot pain (heel to pinky toe) for the last two years. These are the first shoes that did not make the problem worse, and they might have improved it. I have literally bought and returned at least twenty pairs of shoes. These are very stable, yet also cushioned. The grippy sole is amazing on hikes, but not obtrusive on dog walks or at work (teaching elementary school). There is plenty of room is the toe box and they seem truly neutral. I have skinny (low volume), high arch feet with narrow heels. I just bought a new pair to wear around the house. I will say there is a significant difference between my new and old pair after five months, but I do not care. I am willing to replace more frequently given my foot issues. I think there is probably a trade off between plush comfort and the life of the shoe. I am wearing the second pair inside the house for now, but will buy another pair soon depending on the colors available. I wish topo would bring back the ice/blue color combination. I would by two more pairs immediately if I could get that color again!

I bought these for my two weeks in Europe. I wore these for two weeks at home to make sure they wouldn't bother my feet on my trip. For two weeks, I wore these everyday walking miles everyday through rain, dust, sand, rocks, and pavement. They absolutely and completely supported my feet. No tiredness! No sore heels! No soreness, no blisters, and no sore toes. And besides that, no wear and tear on my shoes. Other than being dusty, they look new. My new favorite athletic shoes. I highly recommend these shoes. The soles have a firmer cushion, which for me it was a great choice for all day support.

I took these hiking in the Alps and they were amazing! I have been plagued with foot problems and these are perfect for me. They have the wide toe box, narrow heel, and good arch support. Yesterday, I went and tried on multiple models of road Topos to wear to work and walking the dog. I couldn't find any as perfect as the mtn racer, the other ones seemed wider or the toe box was too deep (it buckled when I pulled the laces tight) The closest I could find was the Atmos, but for now I ordered another pair of these. Please Topo, bring back the ice/blue option, there is a reason these are sold out across the internet. Trust me, I have looked high and low to find another pair.

MTN Racer 3 shoes are PERFECTION!! I need a wide toe box but I have a narrow ankle and heel and a low volume foot. I can snug these up so that my foot does not move around at all, except that my toes have space!! AND there is a bit more cushioning than earlier models. These are my dream shoes, along with the Atmos for street running- they have the same fit!

I bought a Topo MTN Racer 3, the shoe is extremely comfortable and is the perfect hiking shoe.
I was particularly impressed by Topo's customer service. Amy helped me in a straightforward manner, which is exactly how I imagine good customer service to be. I really appreciate that and can only recommend the Topo MTN Racer 3.

I'm training for 500 miles on the Camino de Santiago, and I think Ive found my shoe. The heel fits snugly (always struggle with slippage), the toes are great. I also am training in and really like the teradventure 3 (?) , but the Mtn Racer 3's keep the grit out better around the ankles and feel a bit more substantial. The only problem I have is that laces - why are they so freaking short? Goofy.
