Super comfortable, great style and quality upper. However the hollow tread had worn through after just 2 months of casual wear.

One major flaw - and it's a big one. Let me start by saying these shoes are mega-comfortable. I love how they fit, i love how they feel, i don't like how other shoes feel anymore and it's these shoes fault. However, on to the major flaw: these shoes are ultra slippery when walking on wet surfaces. Forget walking in the rain. I was walking down a flight of stairs and took a tumble. I cut my face on the way down but luckily that was the only damage done. Please be cautious while you are wearing these shoes. They do not mix well with water. Enjoy them on a sunny day.

I liked absolutely everything about this shoe... Until that little bit of rubber that comes up the toe at the front peeled away from the material underneath. Merrell decided to simply glue that down instead of stitching it, and the glue failed after only ~4 months of occasional wear. I kept wearing them because they were so comfortable, but it ruined the look of the shoe. Disappointing.

I ordered these because I have a pair of size 10 Merrell hiking shoes that I love. I ordered these sneakers in size 10 and my heal slips out the back (bad shape, doesn't hug the foot properly) and the toe box is too cramped (too narrow). So, they're both too big and too small at the same time. I'm returning these.

The shoes are form fitting and feel very comfortable. The shoelaces were the only issue for me. They do not stretch at all and feel like they came out of a gum ball machine. I ended up buying new shoe laces. The soles of the shoes are jagged and are not very good for walking on flat surfaces. They are good on the trail.

They were short and not wide even though I ordered a half size larger and a wide. I’ve always liked this brand and was disappointed in this shoe.

Been wearing 13 D for years because I couldn’t get a 12 in a wide enough size. These were tight in the toe box, but otherwise fit ok. After wearing them around the house for two nights the toebox loosened up. First day I wore them to work had 5 compliments on their appearance.

These were way too big for me. I ordered the men’s colors without realizing they were men’s. The 9’s were way too big and the 7’s, in women’s I think, were too small. I have now ordered the 8.5, as there no 8’s available and I loved the style and colors. ??

I was hoping the shoes would breathe better than what they do. My feet get hot and will sweat if I wear a shoe that can't breathe. I press my mouth against the nylon or mesh areas and blow with my hand in the shoe in front of my mouth to see how much air can pass through. The air did not come through very easily so I may return them. Merrell makes a great shoe. Have owned many pairs over the past 30+ years.

I love the look of these shoes. I hike a lot and think most hiking shoes are ugly. They are very comfortable, too. Dry and uphill these perform great, but at the slightest bit of dampness these will fail you for traction ESPECIALLY if you're on a decline. Definitely best used as an approach shoe for generally flat and dry trails. They'd be the perfect outdoor shoe if not for the weird design of the sole.

Merrell is my brand of choice for hiking boots, so I assumed their sneakers would also fit me perfectly. No dice. I usually wear medium-width shoes, but I could tell that these were far too narrow the instant I put them on.

They look pretty cool but they feel cheap. I expect Merrills to feel solid and make me want to hike but these do not. My feet move around.

Tried these yesterday. Felt great until I began walking. The tips of the soles make a very annoying noise indoors.

This sneaker is lightweight and comes in cool colors. It has the Merrell name. Upon arrival, it looks like the pictures. It is a tight fit and feels about 1/2 size small. It is thinner than I expected, as my only other Merrell product i own is a hiking shoe which feels thicker & more rugged/durable. This sneaker does not hold its shape if you put it into a backpack especially if there is weight on the toe of the shoe. It will make a crinkle mark (like crumpled paper) not something I expected from a Merrell brand.

I am typically a size 9 sometimes 9.5. What size would I be on the Men's size chart? I love them because, I am from the Akron, Ohio, area. I am a regular attendee at their Akron Marathon. This marathon is so well run and and the cool thing about this marathon is The Blue Line! You follow a blue line throughout the entire race. Just like the one on this shoe! Please make them for woman! Or at least tell me what men's size to buy. Thanks, Kristin L. Runner from Akron, Ohio

I love the style and really want to love the sneaker but there are 2 issues for me. The breathable mesh is made out of a material which seems like nylon - in other words not very breathable. I much prefer the breathable material on Merrells other products. The tread on the shoe is a series of horizontal lines which are like ridges. I can feel these ridges along the bottom of my feet when walking and they make a funny sound when walking on hardwood floors. I would have preferred a more normal tread pattern.

I purchased these as everyday shoes, I liked their modest styling and on that front they are great. They look good; they aren't garish like most running shoes. On dirt/gravel trails they perform better than expected, I didn't change into my trail running shoes as often as I thought I would. HOWEVER on ice or packed snow, they are laugh-out-loud cartoon slippery. After a few crazy slips I took to avoiding ice and snow altogether. These are not winter shoes for that reason. Overall a great shoe, a bit pricey for the lack of year-round utility but the style makes up for it.

I wanted to like this shoe as a retro-urban walker but found the fit off. It seems durable enough and comfortable enough but the slightly bigger feel and, but of all, the sole, makes me look for something else. The sole is composed of those "ridges" so your contact with the ground is not entirely flat but on a much smaller surface area. I didn't like it and wonder what the thinking behind it was.

LOVE these sneakers. The colors are so much fun and i get lots of compliments. Total bummer that only after a few weeks of wear, the fabric above the toe is completely blowing out on one of them. I think they'll last a few more days before they're not longer wearable. :(

Very uncomfortable and very disappointed as this shoe looks great but after spending several hours in them my feet are throbbing. Surprising because usually Merrell fits so well.

Bright orange bands? Real classy! The don't even match the shoe colors! What is wrong with your designers? They alienate more customers than they attract!. Another puchase I could never make.

Got my Merrell's and broke them in before a vacation. Wore them on the vacation and got massive blisters on both heels, and could barely walk within a couple days. Merrell: will you take these back in exchange of a different pair? I've owned many Merrell's before, but these Alpine sneakers disappointed me.

Bought em a month ago hoping for that classic Merrell comfort. These shoes do not stand up to the test. My feet feel really unstable and hurt after walking just a few miles. Too late to return unfortunately since they only accept unworn returns. Pretty hard to know if a shoe will be comfortable without wearing them.
