Finally, after so many misses with Dansko shoes in recent years, I finally found a great pair of booties. I'm a 7.5W so a 38 was perfect. These are lower heeled than the typical clogs which I like. There is a size zipper so you can easily get in and out of your booties, so unfortunately these are not hands-free like stepping in and out of traditional clogs. The toe has this cute seam (some may not like this) and the leather is pebbled and soft so I don't imagine there will be much chaffing at the top of my ankles. The toe box has plenty of room and the whole shoe fits loose like their traditional clogs. I think it's a great everyday shoe, a nice change from wearing sneakers everywhere.

I really like these shoes. Easy on and off. Just the right amount of heel height. I wish the insole was removable so I could use my own insoles then I would be confident in wearing all day, but I'm going to take a chance and keep them because they feel comfortable and have good arch support.

These are the shoes I've dreamed of! They have a nice, wide toe-box (even though they are not labeled specifically wide), and give me just an extra boost of height without worrying about rolling my ankles as I sometimes do with their clogs. They are a deep, midnight black, and I like that the soles are dark too. Some other reviewers said they had trouble getting them on, and while they're not a slip-on, I found them easy enough to get on and zip up. My only complaint is that the insoles are glued in, and putting a thin insole on top makes them too tight. The existing insole is comfortable though I've only worn them around the house so far. I've been looking for shoes like these for years...the other ones Dansko was making for the last few years weren't wide enough. I'm so happy these fit at last.

I absolutely love these boots! I got them in the pebbled brown….such a beautiful leather! Everything about them is great except for one thing: when I tried them out walking around my house, the first thing I noticed was that the inside at the zipper rubbed against my ankle bone and quickly began to hurt and turn red! I was wearing thick socks, so it was puzzling that this happened! I may have to put cushions of some sort over my ankles in order to wear them. Hopefully I may get used to them, but I’m contemplating if I should return….I’m hoping to work it out.

I went by the reviews since my feet are very sensitive and I have bunions. I could barely squeeze me foot into this lovely boot because the opening is so small. Zipper is too short and there is no give to the shoe.There is absolutely no way I could wear socks with these. Another Dansko fail for me after decades of happy Dansko wearing feet.

Love this boot. It's true to the older fit of Dansko shoes. I had faithfully worn the clogs for 10-15 years, however, at some point the sizing seemed to shrink just enough across the top of the clogs that I could no longer wear them. These are comfortable and have enough room in width and toe box to accommodate those of us with slightly wider feet. That being said, I can't wear them with thick socks. There is heel slippage like the clogs, so it's hard to wear really low socks with them (also, if you don't like/mind the slippage these are not for you. I've gotten lots of compliments and wore them all day almost immediately out of the box (I like to wear them around my office on carpet before I commit to going outside and ruining the chance to return them.)

These Danskos are a hit! The Makara is lightweight and with a lower profile compared to original Dansko clogs or booties. I have both the black and brown and hope for new colors. I am a 9.5 and these in size 40 are perfect!

LOVE this shoe. The foot bed is much softer than traditional Dansko, which my feet LOVE. Opening seemed small when I first tried it on, but I have no problem getting my feet into this shoe - you just need a shoe horn and there's plenty of inside room!! I bought three pairs because they are SO COMFORTABLE!!!!!

Dansko Makara boot was comfortable the first time I wore them. My recommendation is to wear at least calf height socks the first few times you wear them. If you wear ankle socks you could get some mild rubbing at the zipper.

Love, love , love these! They are the only Dansko that is truly comfortable with cushiony support. I can wear them for hours!! All other Danskos do not do this for me. Bought a second pair and color.

Usually wear 39, these fit me in 38, which is true of other non clog Danskos in recent years.

These are very comfortable and have just the right amount of support.

Have had them for three weeks and wear them every day, they are holding up well. Very comfortable

I've owned Dansko clogs before but this time around I had to return the clogs bc they were too big. This bootie, however, fits much better, especially wearing with socks. They're comfortable but stylish enough to wear in a professional office environment.

Very nice quality black suede. I’ll need crew socks to protect my ankles but otherwise extremely supportive and comfortable.

I am really happy with these booties, after I got the right size. I am a 8.5-9 in all the shoes I’ve ever bought, with these however I sent those back and ordered the 7.5-8 and they fit perfect so I would say they run a whole size larger. I have a slim foot so I don’t have a problem getting them on, I can see where someone with a little fuller foot may have some difficulty pulling them on. I also like the lower heel because I’m tall and don’t like any higher heel.

The only reason I returned these is they slip on my heal. Going smaller would not have helped. Very nice boot though!

I have never spent so much money on a pair of shoes, but just realized that my unstable knees require a very stable shoe and this is the number. Bravo for the resilience and cushioning of the cork sole. Love the style and pleasantly shocked by the comfort. I can't wear heeless clogs anymore but these are a beautiful compromise.

So cute and comfortable, and I can walk in them all day long with great support! Size down!

I try to break these boot in my classroom of pk. I want to be honest, I was tired so the first thing when I arrived in my house were the boots. Also order 1 size small . I usually 39 and I need to exchange for 38.

Looked too clunky for me. Made well but not for me.

I really liked these boots but they ran just too beg in my usual size. I had tried a size down, and I thought I might have a problem with this, so ordered the size 38. I usually wear a 7 1/2 but do wear some 8 (39). The 38 in this boot was way to large, so had to return them.

Beautiful little boots. Conmfy footbed and support; looked like they'd be very versatile. Unfortunately, not the right style for my feet. The size is my typical Dansko size (42) and was spot on. I found the toe box a little narrow and also too high - the narrow aspect crunched my bug toes. The height aspect, coupled with a "loose" back shaft, made it hard to keep the boots on my feet in the proper position for walking comfortably. I have many other Dansko boots that are more fitted and work better for me so regrettably I'm sending these back.
