These were very comfortable and looked super cute on! I'm glad I purchased these.

I've tried on so many ankle- or mid-calf-high winter boots that I've been expecting Zappos to ban me as a customer. I've always thought of Ugg as a maker of floppy flat slippers that can't be tightened. So I bought these mostly expecting to have to return them, but they looked perfect for my needs, as so many do, and also I've been on a quest. Surprise, surprise: These boots finally really fit and will work for my narrow heels (they're not narrow boots, but they work and I'll wear thick socks), my low-volume feet (laces tighten well and easily), and my need for plenty of toe room. Also my need for minimal heel height and definite stability in walking, to help out an unstable knee. I very much doubt they'll be warm in extreme cold, but I have old, trusty, serious, heavy-duty, tall Sorels for serious cold. These Uggs have no arch support, just a fluffy insole if you can call it that. I've inserted my own arch-support insoles. The last not-tall, mid-cold winter boots that really fit me were Sorel Snow Angels I bought maybe 15 years ago. I bought a new pair of those last year, and they're ok, but they're not the same. The new ones set the heel of my foot slightly higher than the old model relative to the rest of my foot (not great for bad knee), and they are a different quality. Somehow I can feel surfaces more through the bottoms of the boots even though they're thick and rugged looking. And they seem just slightly more wobbly to walk on (still referring to my newer Sorel Snow Angels).

In the end I just didn't like the look. I thought it would be more funky UGG style, but it looks like an ugly orthopedic shoe. I think if the shaft were higher it would have fulfilled its vision.
