I can understand some of the negative reviews - these are not cosy gloves. I use them on walks and hiking. I usually have my dog with me and I like that I can throw sticks and play tug of war without getting the gloves ripped, soaked, or messed up. These are pretty hardy - made out of the same sort of stuff as the gamma collection. Kind of like wetsuit material but not quite. They keep my hands warm enough and I'm in wild wales. I wouldn't wear them in artic conditions and they don't have straps or adjusters so either they work for you or they don't . For me they are great and the fact that they don't get too hot is a plus for me! Also the phone fingers work great. If you're looking for a hardy outdoor hiking glove to keep the edge off these are pretty good.

These gloves are awesome. Very thin, light and dexterous but windproof and keep dry even working in snow. Surprisingly warm for how thin they are. Great grippy material. I have used a lot of light gloves these are the best I've ever found.

I've had a pair of these for almost 8 years, using them heavily in the winter. They're not super warm because they have little insulation, but they're fine if you're active. They allow for very good dexterity. Not for winter camping, but they ball up small in my jacket pocket with a hat and are my go-to for a dog walk or winter commute to work.

Bought these as an active glove because i'm tired of all my leather gloves getting too sloppy and constantly needing to be taken off. Bought a large as per the recommended sizing. These have been the perfect light weight active gloves for hiking. The formed fit makes for good dexterity. I can work my dogs remote collar, clip his leashes, grab my phone and other essentials out of my pockets, without removing the gloves. great phone fingers. Perfect for mid 30's to mid 40's just to keep the chill off when on the move. wouldn't be my choice for colder temps or wet weather.

Perfect for what it is. Windshell for your hands, with just enough warmth. Perfect for shoulder season hiking.

I have the previous model. Perfect shoulder season hiking or snowshoeing gloves for Michigan. Very high dexterity. Stand alone is good down to 20 when active. When hunting in cold weather(sitting still) I use them as liner gloves underneath fold over mittens and it's the best hunting glove setup I've ever used. Excellent in cold damp conditions to keep wind and moisture off my hands. It's not a work glove, so don't stack firewood with it, but any normal athletic or general use applications it excels. I usually find Arc'teryx to pricey for my tastes but these gloves are worth it, I haven't found a cheaper equivalent.

i bought these a couple days ago and could not be more happy with them. i feel like a good chunk of people who bought these and wrote a review marked them negatively because they weren't very thick. THEY AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE!! they are designed to be a thinner glove while still providing warmth for high output activities. and for that, i love them. the seams inside are quite pokey though.

I am on my 6th or 7th pair of these - I wear them every day out on the fells - OK I had a day off in February as I was too busy with other things. They are tough, lightweight, windproof (given the huge hole where your hand goes in they cannot be waterproof) and cope with handling rocks and the occasional but inevitable fall. Highly recommended. The only issue is the sizing of the new version - XL used to be snug, now L is if anything just a bit too big.

I have already used these on a couple below freezing mornings just taking out the trash and warming up the cars and they are great! They seem like they are going to be a great alternative to my snowboard gloves for for high output in the backcountry this winter.

thes gloves are awesome for touring. uphill travel needs less insulation but wind can create very cold hands. The windblocking in thes gloves is exceptional and they're much tougher than they look. I won't go splitboarding without them and end up wearing the all day on many occasions.

These gloves hold up way better, but they do run just a tad larger than previous years.

Had the old version of this glove and they ripped on the wrist after only wearing them for a few times. Arc'teryx kindly replaced them for this latest version. The quality has definitely improved but bear in mind as per previous comments, they've definitely increased in size.

Bought these for winter everyday use. First time using them and took them on a 4,500 foot climb mountain biking and got caught in rain and hail on the way down. They kept my hands warm. The product description states these at rain resistant. They don't repel anything in a massive downpour but did help in keeping my hands warm and dried off some what quickly. the sizing is on the larger side I'm guessing to wear a glove liner for extra warmth? I wear small in mostly all gloves but in these i purchased the xs. 4 stars for the overall warmth they feel great and look amazing they do block cold air on descents. Minus one star for no absolute rain proof gloves.

Bought these with the intent to use them for ski touring. Used them on a number of hikes (using hiking poles) in cool weather and ski touring twice. They are ligthweight, not bulky and hands never feel sweaty. The only fault I found is the finger and thumb pads are not durable. With less than 12 uses (with and without poles) the material is peeling off.

The quality is as expected when you buy Arc'teryx product. Well isolated. Perfect for hiking, biking or walking the dog out in winter. Though, the size is definitely too big. I bought XS for myself (I usually wear size 7 for gloves) and S for my boyfriend (he's used to wear size 8). Result : he's wearing the XS ones, and I walk the dog with naked hands. So XS is the right size for him in terms of fingers length, but even for the rest of his hand, the fit is quite large. It's a pity as XS is the smallest size available, I cannot order gloves for myself. Even though my hands are small compare to man's ones, I am in the average size for women. Maybe for next season Arc'teryx could consider adding smaller sizes, or create a new reference with a better fit for women ?

I have several pairs of the previous incarnation of this glove, which I find a perfect weight and dexterity for a range of activities when the temperature drops to around 0C; everything from walking the dogs, cycling into work, to moving around in the hills. I keep a set tucked in the top of my MR bag where they're sufficiently nimble for most tasks that don't require surgical gloves or heavy rope work. With all that in mind, I was a bit disappointed to order a pair of the revised version of the Venta, to find that the cut has been altered, and a size L is now significantly baggier than before. The design has more panels and I'm not sure if the fabric has been tweaked, but the end result is a glove that has, ironically, lost that 'fits like a glove' feeling of it's predecessor. It still feels well made, but I'm afraid, like Kelly McGillis in Top Gun, I've lost that loving feeling.

I liked the previous version of Venta a lot and the improvements looked promising; unfortunately the sizing has changed, Large is now too large in new version, older version was a perfect snug fit. Will try the medium.

Perfect weight softshell glove with breathability, durability, and wind resistance. Touch screen functionality is very good compared to any other glove I've used. If the Venta AR had this, I'd likely have bought that glove instead. Once on, they fit great but the cuff needs more stretch as they are difficult to get your palm through. The sizing is frustrating as I always was a small in Arc' gloves before. The small was far too large and I needed to return them for an XS.

These gloves are pretty comfortable and provide good protection but they are not super warm. If it's mildly cold your hands will get cold. If youre looking for some gloves to wear for protection on a mild day then they work pretty well. The seams on the inside are a little bulky and uncomfortable but you get used to it.

If the sizing were better I would love these gloves. My husband has an older version of this glove in size large. I purchased a size small and they are the same size as my husband's larges.

The gloves are fine however I think Arcteryx needs to train their sales associates better. I was looking for a glove I could wear in the rain and keep my hands dry and the sales associate said they are waterproof however they couldn't call them waterproof, only "weather resistant" because the stretchy cuff was permeable material. However my hands get soaked in the rain. Otherwise the glove is fine, although I would not have purchased them if I knew

Purchased these gloves and had to return them. The seam in the inside of the fingers where the goretex and fabric folds is too far down inside the fingers where it digs into your fingers inside the glove. I had this with 2 fingers on the right handed glove and the index finger in the left handed glove to the point where it was biting into my fingers and was very uncomfortable. The Quality inspection of these gloves should encompass someone wearing them to test it.

These gloves seem like they're made of very high quality, comfortable material. They were exactly what I was looking for in an "everyday" glove. Plus, I love the color! So I decided to try the XS, even though my measurements were a bit under the sizing guide. Unfortunately they did end up being too big. I'm normally a M in womens-sized gloves, which is not particularly small, so I'm a bit surprised these don't come in any smaller sizes.

Very disappointed, not a replacement for the old venta gloves. Material is cheap, fit is all over the place. Not sure what these are intended for but deffinietly not ice climbing.
