I bought these pants a month ago and they are so comfortable and light! Good for hiking and walk with my dog. I love all Arc'teryx products!!

I am updating my earlier review now that I have had time to wear the revised version. I also own the original version.
What I like about the revised version: As with the original, the fabric in the revised version performs well in dry or wet, rainy weather conditions and holds up well through muddy/wet, sometimes prickle bush lined trails here on Vancouver Island. I also like that I can layer leggings under them in the colder months, as is during the shoulder seasons and I can cinch up the bottoms in summer, making this a durable, all season piece.
If I had to choose 3 pieces of Arc'teryx clothing, this would be on the list along with the Atom jacket and Beta shell.
What I like about the original version: The design. The leg is less tapered and the result is a more tailored looking and feeling pant rather than simply a functional one. The Arc'teryx logo belt elevated the Gamma pant to my absolute favourite hiking pant for its function as well as its design. I hope in the future, Arc'teryx designers will consider bringing these elements back.

Miss having the belt that came with the Gamma LT ones that I bought in March 2023 and the snap on these ones doesn't seem to fasten as tight as my last pair. I have taken the tags off now so hoping the snap stays snapped during my walks.

These are awesome pants. I love how more room was given in seat and thigh for strong legs. Only thing is the cuff is a little wide at the ankle.

These are one of my first Arc pants purchased and I've had an overall good experience with them. They are definitely a staple pant that you can use for various activities like hiking, walking, climbing or even just casually. I like how comfortable they feel on the skin, and the breathability it provides. My only concern is the fit, they fit me well around my thighs but are pretty tapered and tighter around my calves. But other than that, I've had a good experience with them and have no quality issues!

I'm a big fan of these pants, I've been using them for climbing and alpine adventures. I have a hard time finding pants for climbing as someone with a smaller waist and bigger thighs - I love how stretchy they are! These pants are really lightweight which is nice for warmer weather but also pretty delicate - I wish they were more durable & a little bummed that I already have tears in these pants because I like them a lot!

The perfect pants for climbing or hiking. The material is durable against rock and the stretch allows you to move freely.
I found the size to run a bit small compared to the Konseal Pants for example, but the stretch compensates for the smaller size. I'm 5'4 and wear size 4-S and the draw cord sits perfectly at my ankle, which is a great feature.
The side picked placement and built in belt make these very functional.

Really loved these pants when I tried them, but alas I need to size up. The length is perfection (short), just wish they had a 10 short. Can the design team finagle a request for 10 Short into their line-up?

The Gamma pants are too tight around the hip for someone with slightly curvy figure. The fabric is rigid enough to make my movement feel restricted. It is just too tight around the hip and thighs. I really hope there is more room.

Beware: the current Gamma pants is a different product from the previous Gamma LT pants. It is a lot baggier and does not have the slim/tailored fitting as the previous version. Note that they even removed the line "The Gamma Pant was previously the Gamma LT Pant" from product description. The change are shown in the product images but if you are not paying attention you will be disappointed. Why bother using the Gamma name to confuse anyone who simply wants a replacement if you are going to drastically change the design? Please at least bring back the slim-fitting Gamma LT as an option

I've taken my Gamma pants (in Velocity) on multiple climbing trips -- both sport and bouldering -- and they are my favorite pair of climbing pants. They are stretchy at the knee, have an adjustable waist, comfortable even with a harness on, and I'm not worried about them ripping or snagging on rock. They run a little long on me, but I appreciate that they're easy to roll up and they have a cinch at the bottom of the legs.

Perfect pant for hiking, climbing and really anything outdoors. The material is lightweight and has a really good stretch for movement. The size runs true to size. I was able to wear a light base layer underneath and movement was not restricted at all. Zipper good, buckle is good. Great side pocket for my phone. Love the color. I wore these for a ferrata climb in Norway, Trolltunga. They were absolutely perfect. When I returned home, i purchased the same pant in two other colors. Great quality for the price!

Terrific cut and overall fit (they allow plenty movement and flexibility while hiking). The material is extremely soft and the double stitching and partially hidden zippers denote attention to tailoring details, which I am quite impressed by as compared to others in the same price range. I particularly appreciate that the logo is conspicuous: I have not bought clothes at times because I do not like to be a walking advertisement or worse yet a bragging user of more expensive clothes.

Ive had the Gamma Pant for three winters. They are my go-to pant for ice climbing, alpine rock and any adventure that will require me to be in mountains for multiple days, because they are the perfect balance of breathable, dexterous and water resistant. They layer well with a thin base if its chilly, or with a shell over the top if its super wet. Aside from a few small crampon punctures, the pants are still in excellent condition. After my first season of ice climbing with the Gamma Pant, my partner was jealous and got a pair for himself.

I really wanted to love these pants but they were not as durable as I had hoped. Even though they are marketed as climbing pants, they tore very quickly in and around the thigh pocket after maybe 5 or 6 days of moderate climbing.

These are flattering, comfortable, light to mid weight and have some stretch which is very welcome! Look nice enough to wear dress-casual, in my book.

Great overall pants, but I did not like the fit of these as much as I liked my older 2018 model. Higher waist, shorter length especially on my 5'9" frame (my older model was Regular so that's what I got this time also). Sizing was still the same. Fuller tapered leg...and made noise. Returned, customer service is awesome .

Bought these at another retailer but had to review here. I am have a smallish frame (5"4, 125 lbs) but have a large butt which Arc'teryx doesn't design for. After I went up two sizes from my usual size the fit was awesome, absolutely love the draw cord on the bottom hem and the waist belt to account for my sizing up. However, the fabric is unbearably loud!! You would hear me swishing from a mile away...please find a quieter fabric! I sadly had to return.

The fit was fantastic and I love the elastic on the bottom cuffs-makes the fit of the pant very cute when cinched. However the fabric is INCREDIBLY loud and swishy. I wanted these for travel but the noise was honestly embarrassing and I have to return.

Excellent trousers. I bought these to replace my Levons so only for light use. These are great but I do like the cotton/poly material better and back packets would be good. Great shape though

Disappointed. The fit was Just totally off. I have slim waist and wide hips and the fabric was creasing in the crotch and on my bottom in the least flattering way

If this pant goes through a fit (and possibly fabric) overhaul, it will be great. I will outline what my experience was, and note that your mileage may vary based upon weight, body type, proportions, sound sensitivity, and so on.
SOME REALLY NICE ATTRIBUTES:
1. Extremely comfortable; fabric moves with the body
2. Ultra flexible: you can move into and out of any position
3. Lightweight & breathable
4. Nice length on the regular (I am 5'8")
5. Adjustable at the ankles (always looking for joggers)
6. Easily layers over merino leggings without binding
7. Fabric looks durable
8. Water-resistant
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT:
1. The sound of the fabric. The dealbreaker for me (in fact, the main reason I returned them), was that there is so much material at and/or between the knees, that with every single step (at any pace), there was a LOUD, swishing sound, announcing my presence as I walked. I like to move quietly about the world, and I do not want the sound of my clothing to draw attention and annoyance toward me, or to distract me from the (((flow))) of my activity. They were loud indoors. They were loud outdoors. They were louder than any pants I have ever owned. This problem was limited to the location between the knees only, and was not an issue anywhere else.
2. The waist is MUCH too high, and the cut thereof is MUCH too small. For those of us who cannot tolerate any high-waisted garments, this is another dealbreaker when sizing up cannot remedy the problem. Ordinarily, I wear a size 6 in pants, but due to the narrow, high waist, and tight bottom area, I had to size up to an 8 in order to drop the waist down to the hips where it was supposed to be. Sizing up fixed the waist issue, but then the area covering the bottom became much too large, baggy, and would not hold its shape. This was frustrating.
3. The adjustable ankle is a welcome idea, as I am always looking for water-resistant rain and/or snow pants that have more of a jogger style, and are slim, tapered or gathered, and smaller at the ankle. The problem with the adjustment cord on the Gamma (I tried the December 2023 version in black, regular), is that once you appropriately tighten the cord, the tail is so long that it falls out from under the ankle of the pant when you walk, and gets stepped on. There needs to be a better way to stow this cord, that will not lead to getting caught and/or damaged underfoot.
I am:
5'8"
125-135 lbs
Slim & athletic
Extremely active
Long torso & long arms
